PAINKILLER IS BACK!

The day before yesterday I started a special phase in my current "Alphabets Of Rock" theme, which started in early March by phases "Blackmore" and "Cooper". Now the current phase is "Dio & Halford". Not a matchup or comparison, but a hard-edged and heavy-hitting double assault of my personal Heavy Metal Gods. CD by CD...So I thought a visit to the forum was appropriate.

Judas Priest performing their top3 album "British Steel" in its awesome entirety with many dear classics is something we all will cherish some day in the distant future. I wish this tour would be extended to reach Finland too, it's already over 10 months since their last visit (I'm like the song I'm listening now, "Never Satisfied"!!!)...but at least a full-blown DVD is very obligatory! Not to mention the awaited and much speculated performance of their mega opus "Nostradamus" in its entirety. Now that would be the crowning achievement for Judas Priest!

Would like to thanks Priest for the show they give in Paris, espacially for the extra encore "livin'after Midnight". Each member of the mighty Priest had real pleasure on scene, and the audience felt that !! The best show I saw since 2004 belgium reunification show. Can't wait for the next tour !!!

Unless they change it.. But they never have in the past.....  I will still go... LOL even if thats the case..
One of the few joys I will have this summer...

I had to laugh One of the days Bret Michaels is going to play...  I cant stand him.... And his wig for a hair doo.. LOL

Where were your seats RON???

Now when they play in MN I know in the past for the taste of MN, its a entrance fee, then you are given a voucher for the same amount to buy food... its to keep the homeless people out..  and Street beggers...  And its usually general admission.... And its not that much, last year tickets for the taste of MN were only 15-20.00.   each day... Iam going july 3rd.  But still you get that money in a food voucher, to eat .. so its not your loosing anything.

Hello Priest fans around the world.

I,ve been to The Priest Feast in Dortmund/Germany Tuesday 24 Februari 2009.

It was once again a fantastic evening with "The Gods of HEAVY METAL"

The Sound of all instruments were great and Rob's Voice was outstanding.
It reminded me to their great era in the 80's,so sharp was he screaming and singing through the entire set that evening.

I can't wait until the 22 of March when they arrive in my Country (Belgium)

Many people asked about the songs they play this tour so here is the Setlist for the

PRIEST - FEAST Tour 2009

1.Dawn Of Creation/ Prophecy
2.Metal gods
3.Eat Me Alive
4.Between the Hammer and The Anvil
5.Devils Child
6.Breaking The Law
7.Hell Patrol
8.Death
9.Dissident Agressor
10.Angel
11.The Hellion/Electric Eye
12.Rock Hard,Ride Free
13.The Sinner
14.Painkiller
15.Hell bent for Leather
16.Green Manalishi(With the 2 pronged Crown)

For all those who go to see the METAL GODS, enjoy your evening of  Heavy Metal.

Guido

eager to see you, guys, in Saint-Petersburg again! I was at your concert in 2005 (been a fan of yours since 1992). It was great to me to see my metal gods on the scene, but what I see now is that Saint-Petersburg is out of your tour list. I think, I put out all your Saint-Petersburg's fans' opinion here.
Welcome to SPb!!!

Hi everybody. I went to Judas Priest show past Thursday and no doubt it was the best day of my life. The show was AMAZING, the performing band was superlative, above all Rob Halford, he even looked like a tenn, his movements reminds me Rob from the 80's, his voice sounded very well as well as the soundof the band  in general . There were kinda 8.000 people,  the crowd it was very exciting due to the excelent Set-List ( the same we know so far), the songs more singed were Hell Patrol, the Green Manalishi, Sinner and Rock Hard Ride Free, beside Breaking the Low, Metal Gods and Painkiller of course. One of the highlights during the show was when they performing "Death", Halford was sit in a sort of Throne as far as sing with a lot of feeling, he was very histrionic. I will looking forward next year when they peforming Nostradamus in it's interity. Acording the show, so I have no more to say that it was incredible, I hope you'll enjoy it as much I did.

Judas Priest, thanks.
I love you guys.

Hi all,

maybe someone can help me.

Early this year I read an article in the German Metal Hammer that Judas was going to do a "Best Of" set list on the upcoming festivals in Summer - which they did. The article also said that they would be doing a tour in winter/spring 2009 performing the Nostradamus album in its entirety.

So now that the tour has been announced I'm wondering what the set list for the Priest Feast will actually look like.

I mean the title of the tour sounds more like a "Best Of" set list again, doesn't it?

I can't find any information anywhere - so maybe someone in here (where else...  ) could help me.

I'b be much obliged...

Gruesse

-Defenders Of The Faith Tour (Feb. 17 1984)
-Fuel for Life
-Ram it Down
-Painkiller

-Jugulator

-Retribution
-Bang Your Head (Balingen) 2008

Plus

-War Of Words
-Small deadly Space (Dallas City Limits, Dallas TX, 1995)

-Resurrection
-Crucible (Bang Your Head Balingen)

And I can't wait for the PRIEST FEAST next year!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ok, update. I spent the day at their hotel waiting for them all to roll up for photos and autographs. I got all the guys to autograph my Defenders of the Faith lp, a book and my scrap book. Got pics with all but KK, cause I forgot. Rob was a real friendly guy, very humble and quiet spoken. Not like you would have expected.
[Rob  Halford88] Tuesday, September 16, 2008 6:21:11 PM
I was able to see Priest last night in Perth, Western Australia. It was a killer show. I saw them here 7 years ago with Tim, but this was a level above that. The light show was great, let alone the music. The set is not too shabby either. After the show, my army training kicked in. Being ex armoured recon, I knew how to do a recon of the stadium. I found the loading docks, knowing that backstage would be right there too. So, I sat in the car and waited for a likely target to drive out. After about an hour, a minivan full of people came out of the loading dock area. The chase was on. My friend had driven to pick me up in my ute and she tailed em and said she didn't want to get too close. Well, she got stopped by a red light, so I told her I was taking over. I got in and the next stage was on, catching up. I had to do over 100kmh to catch up to em and run 1 red and 2 orange lights, but I did it. Followed em to their hotel and got to thank all but Rob, he had already gone to the hotel. I shook hands with Glenn, Ken and Ian. I even showed Ian my bank card so he could see my name. Yes, it is Rob Halford for real! Now to see em in America. Thanks guys, you done good.

Took my 11 year old son to see Priest in Brissy on Wednesday. Fucking awesome. Rob pierced our eardrums and KK and Glenn melted our faces! Great to see the original lineup finally make it to Oz. See ya again one day!

[Michael Darko] Friday, September 12, 2008 11:17:46 PM

The Brisbane show on the 10th was fantastic. The set list was basically the same as metal Masters etc although there were a couple of surprises. A brilliant show and Rob is in fine voice indeed. My ears nearly bled from his screams, he's still got it. The entire band really enjoyed themselves and they sounded excellent. My ears are still ringing.

Long live the PRIEST! Enjoy Melbourne.

Going to the Melbourne show Saturday night!

I have followed this band since 1977 and like other UK metal and rock bands that are still going from that era they are doing less and less UK gigs.  Download festival is not everyone's cup of tea JP.  Remeber the fans from the early days and do some halls.

Got to see Priest twice on this tour- once in Kansas City on August 1st; then again Thursday night in Phoenix (8/28). What a GREAT tour! The show in KC was VERY hot and humid but the band was great. Phoenix show had WAY crazy wind and lightning kick up at the end of the Heaven and Hell set, followed by heavy rains during Priest. Luckily they let quite a few folks from the lawn come down with us under the covered pavillion during the heavy rainfall. Halford and crew were absolutely amazing at Phoenix! Rob reminded the crowd several times that this is his hometown and that he was very excited to be back in AZ. Thank you Judas Priest for yet another wonderful tour! I have seen the band 7 times since 1984, absolutely love this group! Just wish we could have seen SINNER, has been a long time boys...
Keep rocking with the Priest! Fan since 1976.... D of KC
[Michael Darko] Monday, September 01, 2008 4:38:32 AM
Very disappointed to to learn that Priest will not be playing with Cavelera Conspiracy here is Australia. As usual we get the raw end of the deal. To make matters worse the supports are unknown crap and the ticket price was $150 ($180 US) for the ticket when originally on sale. Now tickets are selling for $60. This is bullshit. To make matters worse Priest are schedulled to play for 80 fucking minutes. What the hell is going on. I have been a Priest fan for in excess of 20 years but this is very disappointing. I am also travelling 1000 kms to get to the concert. This fuck up is not on especially a week from the gig. Many Priest fans over here in Oz very disappointed. Lets hope the band reconsider or play a longer set.

I don't know if any of you have really noticed but i've been reserching on other sites and i noticed that Priest are NOT including "SINNER" on the set list for the Metal Masters tour in North America right now. They did play it all the way through during the European tour this year.

This is has really bummed me out because i think "Sinner" was a huge part of this new great set list for this World Tour and i thought i'd finally get to hear it live with my own hears :(

I can see that the reason behind it is that they have to play a shorter set on this tour (15 songs instead of 17 as they did on the European leg) because they're playing with Heaven & Hell, Motorhead & Testament, but couldn't they take off the set "Metal Gods" (since they've been playing that one non-stop since the British Steel tour in 1980) or "Angel" ?????? I mean....... Metal Gods and Angel over SINNER??????

:'(

Guys, please send msgs if you agree so hopefully the band can hear about it and give us the honor of listening to "SINNER" on this American Tour!!! We have been waiting for that song for WAAAAAAAAY to fucking long!!!

Went to the Masters of Metal show in Toronto and gotta say it was fantastic. This was the 8th time seeing Priest and it was one of the best shows I've seen. Heaven and Hell were superb. Keepin' The Faith in London ON.

Greats pics! One word of advice though.  I wouldn't upload every singe picture taken.  Took way too long to go through you album and very frustrating to be going through the same picture mutliple times.  take time to upload the best ones so it's easier for people to view.  Otherwise the pictures were great!

PNC art center NJ, setlist cut short by 5 songs Because of Holmdels  bullshit noise ordinance. Less than an hour and a half of Priest? WTF? PNC's security sucked. How could I miss most of 4 songs from the second row center? Answer! a bunch of drunken idiots trying to get to the stage that were trampling everyone in site including Me and my Wife as security is watching this happen and shrugging his shoulders as I'm telling him to do something about it. And then 4 idiots get past security and get on stage during the concert. Nothing against Priest  this was out of their control , But alot against PNC art center, This was the Worst Priest show ever at PNC and I've seen them in concert Here in the past few years and had a Great time. I've seen them elsewhere and had a Great time. I've been a true fan for 32 years and have always enjoyed their concerts. I have to agree the sound was Great . The meet and greet was a cattle call at best. Don't bring a camera, we'll post the picture on our website for you, OK ,went to see my picture with the band and low and behold it's not there, Nor are alot of fans pictures who paid their good hard earned money. Would I ever pay $400.00 for a ticket with a meet and greet again? NO F--king way. On a scale of 1 to 10, 10 being the best, I rate this concert at PNC a -2.

nissan..priest..glenn, kk, ian, rob, and scott in the building..there is a god..in fact 5 of them...and the faith has been properly defended..we now return all of the haters and whack music lovers to their regular scheduled programming. This has been a test of the emergency kick-ass metal network. I was there..I can now die in peace. !

You muchachos in Central America know how to party. I feel jealous of you already. Here, it's proibitions, rules, laws, can't do this, can't do that, curfews, sound ordinances, liquor laws, walking laws, censor laws, .... blargh... "don't do this, do it like that, oh yeah"...but in a bad way...
Maybe I should just take off across the border to Guadalajara to see Priest. More interesting people who might know just who the fu888 is opening for Priest and giving a damn.

At last the masters will be playing this upcoming October 29th in Gudalajara, Mexico. This is Mexico's second largest city will experience what TRUE metal sounds like. Dozens of local bands and band members site Priest as a major influence (so, what's new?!?!). I've been a fan since I was 14 or 15 years old, but this will be my very first Priest concert. I'm in my 40's now and I'm as loyal to Judas Priest as ever. In fact, many friends of my age group will be there, banging our heads as if it was 1983!!! To all of those true bangers out there, buy your tickets now so that bands like Priest can keep coming down to Guadalajara! Metal o muerte!!!

Sorry about the cancellation NZ, but OMG!!!  Just came back from seeing the mighty Priest play in Winnipeg, and they were amazing!!  The setlist was the same as what MapleSyrup mentioned in this thread, and I was very impressed by the band!  In a way I'm disappointed it's over now since it'll likely be another 3+ years before I see them again. Unless they play somewhere closeby for the Nostradamus set.  They mentioned in a radio interview that they would do shows of the whole CD in 2009, but I can just imagine that it won't be in all the places they're playing now.  That CD is amazing.  Love it!  Thanks for the awesome shows boys, you impress me time and again!  See you soon.

Please Priest, I think us New Zealanders deserve a proper explanation. You're scheduled to play in Las Vegas on the 1st of September and originally Auckland on the 7th of September with your next gig in Australia on the 10th. What is stopping you from stopping over in New Zealand on your way from Las Vegas to Australia? Please, we deserve an explanation. I honestly felt like crying when I found out the concert had been cancelled.

Seems to me the price of gas is affecting a lot of bands, especially the small ones that are fighting for their big break.
I really don't like to think about the business side of music myself because it really takes away the magic of all that is metal, especially since business tends to attract some greedy and aggressive S.O.B's, but I think JP and the rest of the circus still makes a lot of $$$$ each night.
I think it may have to do more with the interest shown by the cities to have JP play there and the number of available venues and all that ladeeda.
The US dollar is lower now but its worth compared to the vast majority of currencies around the world is still pretty high. Sure, it's not the British pound or the Euro but it's not the Yuan either.
My 2 US cents.

Most people do not think the same way business promotors and business people think. Judas Priest, managemnt and promotors are business people.

The reason they are playing so few US dates is because of the current value of the US Dollar.  They can make significantly more money by playing in other countries.

Notice the limited US dates. Versus those in the EU.

Will Priest come to the Southeast US????  I live in Charleston, SC and the nearest stop to me is near Washington DC (the VA stop) which is about 9 hours away.  Christ, Atlanta would be a stretch with gas but I would to it for them.  There is an entire quarter of the US they are neglecting.  There are enough relocated metalheads to book dates in Atlanta and Miami at least.  4 dates in NY/NJ and 3 more in TX, but nothing for us.  Nice.

I notice that the Metal Masters concert is coming to Buffalo on August 12 SANS JUDAS PRIEST! Not that I'm not looking forward to seeing Geezer, Tony et al, but Priest are my all time favorite band and I wish they were part of the show. They played Buffalo on their last tour (opening act was Queensryche) so I'm not sure why they're not stopping this time. Anyway, I hope they'll schedule a date here very soon.

First saw Judas Priest in 83 - seen them 3 times since & really looking forward to the Monsters of Rock tour in Calgary on July 26th.  Should be interesting as they haven't allowed an outdoor concert at McMahon Stadium in Calgary for about 15 years.  Monsters of Rock has Judas, Ozzy & about 12 other bands.   Party On!!!!!
