I saw the Heaven and Hell tour at the Capital Centre, near DC, and Dio just could NOT hold up his part...Ozzy might screw up the lyrics now and again but his ENERGY just cannot be topped by anyone (except maybe Halford, but it's a different. kind of energy..).  For those of you who have seen them both (Ozzy and Halford) you should know what I mean...

I agree but at the same time, man Heaven and hell, though corny in some spots, is one of greatest albums of all time. Just so kick ass, thats one thing i have to say Ozzy is the fucking man, no one will ever take away how kick ass he is, but Dio is well... just way way better of a singer. The only singer that hasnt stressed his voice over the years and is actually better then he used to be.  Black sabbath can never deny Ozzy though, and if a new album came out, id like to see ozzy do it. Although it would be pretty kick ass, if they both did it!

Iommi's guitar is most awesome.  Dio has a nice voice but he's sort of twerpy-looking and his lyrics SUCK!  He just seems to put together whatever rhymes at the time.  Sabbath will always be OZZY!  Ozzy is a short fellow but his energy just makes the audience come alive!

Dio era definitely!! Heaven & Hell, Mob Rule, Neon Knight. But Ozzy's Paranoid still best

Sabbath with Dio is simply put: awesome!  I think Ronnie himself said before in an interview that he can write how he wants to in Sabbath.  I'd have to agree with him too.  Nothing against Dio's solo work or any of the stuff with Rainbow (never heard any of Elf so I can't comment on that), but the stuff he wrote in Black Sabbath easily puts everything he did as a solo artist to shame - save for maybe 5 or 6 songs.

Also, regarding the "Dio Years" box set, I really like the slow, plodding, power metal style they employed.  Great headbanging material.

I amp out the same to BLACK SABBATH & JUDAS PRIEST.    SABBATH IS KILLER.    TONY roams the stage with the riffs of life. GEEZER lays down the deepest bottom ground swell for the empending metal impact and mass musical devistation.  RONNIE breaks the law with an Epic life description

DIO IS AWSOME! I'M LISTENING TO OLD ELF AND RAINBOW RIGHT NOW, AND HIS VOICE CAN CARRY ANY SONG.

No way, Troubleshooter.  Black Sabbath/HnH is absolutely fucking awesome in their own right!  RJD's songwriting put the Black back into Sabbath after 1978's Never Say Die and Technical Ecstasty.  Great music was written and performed by that particular lineup...Mob Rules, Heaven And Hell, Sign Of The Southern Cross, Neon Knights, Time Machine.  The shitty radio stations in Philadelphia gives Sabbath a major shafting if the songs aren't War Pigs, NIB, Paranoid, and Iron Man and therefore, the fans knowledge of the overall body of work is sorely lacking, lest you go searching out black sabbath songs on say...youtube.com.  Don't get me wrong, if they ain't your cup of tea or they don't measure up to the best band in the universe (that would be Judas Priest), that's cool but they damn sure ain't no warm up band.

Ronnie James Dio showed that there was life after Ozzy in the Black Sabbath camp. IMO, every studio album Black Sabbath did with Dio was flawless.

Sabbath, whether with Ronnie or Ozzy, are totally awesome! It's just the two line-ups have a different sound and vibe.
