No one is making the argument that Ratt is NOT Metal, just that they are NOT HEAVY METAL. Let me see, Megadeth, Slayer, Priest, Maiden, Ratt, and Pantera; which band don't belong?
Ratt, Motley, Bon Jovi, Cinderella, Priest, and LA Guns; which band don't belong? ![](/FCKeditorNEW/editor/images/smiley/fun/halm.gif) |

Good call Guido. There was some good stuff happening out here. Not all the bands were bullshit. I'll givem a metal credit, their guitarist was actually very good ( to bad he passed away ). If they woulda been a few years after the hair age they might have lasted a couple more Lp's. |

Give me the the name of just 1 HEAVY METAL song that Ratt produced.
They ARE a form of Metal, just NOT Heavy Metal (imho).
I do agree with everything you wrote, and ALL the band's you mentioned (and a whole lot more ie Slaughter, Trixter, and Tesla) ARE Metal. I just don't think they can be classified as Heavy Metal. Edited at: Thursday, July 10, 2008 8:33:40 AM |

One stupid song doth not fuck with a band's belonging to a particular genre. Most of the Turbo album isn't heavy metal, but to the average Priest fan, it's still heavy metal b/c it's Judas Priest. I think they have the typical 80's metal sound. Even though some people wouldn't agree with me on this, I think a lot of hair/glam bands from the 80's have what can be described as a 'metal' sound. Ratt is one of those bands. You can also say the same about Dokken, Motley Crue, Saigon Kick, WASP, and to a small extent, certain other pretty boy outfits like Warrant (go listen to Dog Eat Dog), White Lion, and Faster Pussycat and Flotsam & Jetsam.
