Yeah... totally hot lol. But yes it was really good throughout (I missed Testament, oh well I already saw them like two weeks ago). Rob was hitting notes I thought he lost a long time ago. The energy was nuts. I loved it. They better do a second leg; I noticed they got the month of October open in their touring schedule so maybe they can do another round and come to Milwaukee.
At the end when Glenn was throwing out his guitar pics I ran up to see if I could get one... no luck but I was less than five feet away from him lol! It's a shame I never got the chance to meet them again. The security there were douchebags, at least last time in 05 they were a little more lax since we were on the sidewalk. Did you ever get the chance to see them in person this time around? I have never really followed them though I do know a few songs, they tore things up. Want to hear irony? I was standing in line getting a Testament t-shirt for a friend so I missed all of Testament. Yes, it took that long to get the shirt. I did at least hear them. Great show over all......and I just have to add that Glenn is pretty frickin' hot. |

Just saw them in Chicago last night. FUCKING AMAZING. Rob sounded a lot better than I thought he would. There was a lot of energy. Not enough songs from Nostradamus though. They're certainly back to being one of my top favorite bands. I had a blast. I didn't get to meet them this time though...
More later, I gotta get to work lol! |

I second that! The band were at the top of their game and really seemed to be enjoying themselves. Rob was smiling a lot and joking with the other band members, which was neat to see. When I saw them on the Retribution tour Rob was more subduied, but Saturday night reminded me of the Rob from the 80's. At the end of the show everyone left the stage and Rob was walking off when he turned around and came back out and lead the crowd in another cheer. Really cool.
Glen and KK were as sharp as ever. Glen really made an effort (as he always does) to interact with the crowd. Both were headbanging like it was still 1984 throughout the show.
For me the highlights were Devil's Child, Dissident Aggressor, Between the Hammer and the Anvil, and Rock Hard Ride Free. The whole show was full of energy and even with the short set list they left everyone exhausted.
As for the other bands: I am not a big thrash guy so Testament did nothing for me. Motorhead actually put on a really good show and I would have loved a few more songs from them. Heaven and Hell put on a good show and were fun to watch, but frankly Priest just blew them away.
I read a lot of the posts on this board criticizing the band for the short set lists or not playing this song or that and it frustrates me. When I first saw Judas Priest in 1984 I would have NEVER imagined I would be going to see them in 2008 and that they would still be able to put on a show like I saw on Saturday night. As opposed to criticizing them we should be celebrating the fact that these guys in their late 50's and in Glen's case, early 60's can still put on a show full of energy and quality that bands half their age only dream of. One hour of Priest live is worth five hours of any other band on the planet. If you don't have tickets for the tour, get them. Long live PRIEST, the greatest metal band on the earth! And may you continue "blasting the cannons of truth through each man on this earth!" |

Nice of Glen to share his germs with you all. From the second row, you could tell Glen had a bit of a cold as he kept wiping his nose a few times and it was a bit red. That didn't stop him from really getting into the show though. In fact, I don't think I've ever seen Glen so animated and into it. Rob was great and his singing was spot on, even though he does sing some songs in a lower register than the albums (Dissident Aggressor being one). Highlights were many-Devils Child, Rock Hard, Ride Free (including crowd sing-a-long), Hell Patrol, and of course the classics-HBFL and GMWTTPC. Only one song (Prophecy) off Nostradamus (2 if you count the intro Dawn of Creation) which kind of surprised me. I thought they were playing Death on this tour but I guess not. Overall, this was a great Priest show-great crowd, great setlist, band was into it. Got to meet the band prior to the show- great bunch of guys. Let's hope they stick around for a couple more tours at least.
I want to give a shoutout to soylentgreen4U and dambanker and his wife for keeping me company throughout the day. Hope you made it home ok sg4U. |

Priest kicked ass at the Toronto show. Rob had some interesting outfits, his voice ripped through the whole show, he was very friendly with the crowd, looking at individuals in a really familiar friendly way, kissing the Canadian flag at times. Scott's cymbals were flyin' all over the place and his thundering double bass roared and made the entire arena tremble. KK & Glenn were an explosive duo, particularly Ken oozing out some aggressive shredding solos, and Glenn rocking out hard as usual. Ian Hill really made himself present this time around. The only little problem we had was some asshole of a guy in the crowd booing at all Painkiller and post-Painkiller songs deeming them as not real 'Priest, eventually another guy got angry with him and I hope he bashed the shit out of this asshole. I moved down to the moshpit when security guards weren't looking. Simply to say...the night fucking rocked. See you in Sydney Judas Priest. |

PNC art center NJ, setlist cut short by 5 songs Because of Holmdels bullshit noise ordinance. Less than an hour and a half of Priest? WTF? PNC's security sucked. How could I miss most of 4 songs from the second row center? Answer! a bunch of drunken idiots trying to get to the stage that were trampling everyone in site including Me and my Wife as security is watching this happen and shrugging his shoulders as I'm telling him to do something about it. And then 4 idiots get past security and get on stage during the concert. Nothing against Priest this was out of their control , But alot against PNC art center, This was the Worst Priest show ever at PNC and I've seen them in concert Here in the past few years and had a Great time. I've seen them elsewhere and had a Great time. I've been a true fan for 32 years and have always enjoyed their concerts. I have to agree the sound was Great . The meet and greet was a cattle call at best. Don't bring a camera, we'll post the picture on our website for you, OK ,went to see my picture with the band and low and behold it's not there, Nor are alot of fans pictures who paid their good hard earned money. Would I ever pay $400.00 for a ticket with a meet and greet again? NO F--king way. On a scale of 1 to 10, 10 being the best, I rate this concert at PNC a -2.
