Basically Hell Bent For Leather destroys Stained Class in every way. Vocals, Riffs, Drums, Everything! So if you're standing there trying to make a decision between the two then go for HBFL and you will not be disappointed.

Killing Machine (AKA hell bent for leather) wasnt commercial, i dont think. i used to think killing machine was better. but i think stained class wins easily cuz almost every song is just amazing, alot of my favorit songs r on there such as Excter, Beyond the realms, better by u better than me. but this may sound weird, but i rlly like before the dawn from killing machine. i just beautiful

Stained Class wins easily,  Killing Machine seems... uh, well more commercal. Plus Stained Classis the 1st album to feature the classic Priest logo.

Because those implications of "murder" were too much to put in front of a country where everyone owns a gun! LOL!!! Seriously, the execs thought it to be offensive.

No worries, we got an extra song with G. Manalishi.

Stained Class for me!

Why is it called Hell Bent For Leather in the US?

In UK it's always been entitled Killing Machine. Far more metal!!

BOTH GREAT ALBUMS, BUT FOR ME IT IS STAINED CLASS. LOVE THE DRUMS ON THAT ALBUM. LOVE THE LYRICS TO SAVAGE, HEROS END, BEYOND THE REALMS OF DEATH  ETC...  I ALSO THINK ON STAINED CLASS THE SONGS WERE A LITTLE LONGER AND MORE CREATIVE. JUST MY OPINION.

BUT THEN AGAIN HELL BENT FOR LEATHER IS A GREAT ALBUM.

I go by the official web site Discography and it says 1979. If you think its wrong then you should correct Webmaster Murray. ROFL @ Phantom A6!!!!!
