My prediction? Won't work. Not all makers / venues will get onboard and, even if they do, hackers will get a work-around. All PR on the part of Apple, I say.

Apple, god bless their little greedy hearts are getting ready to sell a product to venues that uses lasers to turn off cameras on smart phone cameras so they can't film. FFS!!! Is it so wrong to want a piece of personal history for yourself? Apparently so. At least it wont be out this year.

That's how it should be. I was disgusted with Apple's new invention.

And as far as pictures and video go, some members of bands actually encourage it! Richie just posted on FaceBook to keep the pictures and videos coming! It should be up to the band itself, not the venue, whether pictures/filming are OK. Priest has never had a problem with it, in fact, if Glenn sees you with a camera, he'll come over right in front of you and pose!
