This is why I like this thread. I just put that on my list of music to look for.
Good stuff. Kinda Sabbath(esque) but a little rougher on the edges.

I can't believe more people don't post here.
This is Rev Theory. Some of their stuff is a little weak but overall they're pretty heavy. Hope some enjoy!

These guys are pretty cool, Sahg from Norway. Old school rock/metal.

[Brian_Evans] Friday, March 04, 2011 6:41:09 PM
Yeah I think you posted the studio version of this a while back. I like checking out the live versions. I'm not a big fan of that type of vocals but the guitar stuff is pretty sick. Nice song though.

Awesome Brian, I'm a big High On Fire fan,  that song is definately one of their best. Saw them live last week, powerful and loud for a three piece, kind of like Motorhead. Great show. If you get a chance to see them you should take it.

Good song. I had to get up and leave the computer to listen to it because that picture was driving me crazy. Does sound alot like Gilmor.

What's this? Civil conversation?............Cool!
[Budred] Thursday, February 24, 2011 6:12:31 PM

It started out as a live thing. Watching the crowd response and how they fed off of it. I like the way they change up the tempo in their songs.
When they go slow then heavy it up it gets the crowd going. Then I started listening to their music and quite honestly I love it. I like how many
different styles of music they actually play. I like them having two singers each of  them very different in style. I like that they go from a ballad
to metal to hardcore in their songs. I'm going to see them in May. I can't wait. I like the visuals, it works for me.
I only post them here because you don't like them. I'll stop doing that in an attempt to stop the back and forth with you.
I will continue to post here because I still think this is an awesome idea for a thread. You obviously won't like everything just
because no one will but I won't intentionally try to aggravate you with my posts. Glad you liked Texas Hippie Coalition. I think they're pretty good.

I don't know what you see in these guys really, it's just gimmicky, cliched, crap. Their music videos don't help matters either. What do you like about them?

I've heard Texas Hippie Coalition before but don't own any of their albums but that song was pretty cool. Have to see if I can find one of there cds next time I go to the record store. Union Underground was a bit lamo, sounded like nu metal.

Hey Jimmie
Coming from the same area that Pantera did, I was aquainted with them( not friends) and Phil was the problem there. His ego was unbelievable! My old band used to do the same clubs as them before they were signed, and man even in the beginning he was an ass. Vinnie and Dime were that band. The damageplan is good, but not up to Pantera standards.

Out of the four he was the only one that was acting like that bothered him also. The other three were so cool and into it
but he couldn't wait to get away from the people there. But hey, if drug addicted assholes with attitude problems are what
you're into then he's the guy for you.
[jimmyjames] Wednesday, February 23, 2011 8:32:33 PM
He was still gracious enough to spend a minute letting you get a photo with him. What a fuckin asshole.

Phil is an asshole. He brought Pantera down. I saw those guys 9 times and the majority of them he was so fucked up
on heroin or whatever he was taking that they're performances were lacking because of it. The last time I saw Phil was
in Superjoint Ritual. He sounded fucked up and was a total ass to the crowd. He would stop songs to bitch at the crowd.
He was telling them how lame they were, how he wasn't going to continue unless people started getting into it more.
He said this was the worst crowd, used swear words, and said he would never come back. The funny part was that the
crowd was into him. People were slam dancing and generally getting off and he was a total dick. I've never paid attention
to him since. I have that "Down" album and another and I don't think they're that good. to each his own though.

[spapad] Sunday, February 20, 2011 4:32:43 PM
That is sad about the no second chances, but proably true. Even if they replace people it's just not the same. The combination of all the right musicians creates lightning in a bottle, and there is no substitute the majority of the time.

Not really interested in Rebel Meets Rebel, again the artists aren't on the same page. That song is all over the place. Cliched lyrics too. Stupid video. I haven't really been interested in much that Dimebag and Vinnie have done since Pantera. The Hellyeah band looks like shit although I must admit I haven't listened to the Damageplan album which I just never got around to. Even though Dime is really respected I always thought Phil was the man in Pantera. The first Down album is awesome but the second and third are a bit patchy and their live album is abysmal. I get the feeling that Pantera, like Priest, are at their best when they are together, not involved in other projects. Unfortunately that's never going to happen again for those guys.

I can see that, they are pretty hard to pigeonhole, I thought Sisters of Mercy because the singer sounds similar and Rammstein for that heavy militaristic, wall of noise riffing. But yeah those keys definately sound like Yello or something.

I don't know why but I kept finding myself thinking of Yello, much updated of course, but that kind of feel. Probably the crapy video. I liked Yello as a every now and again listen, so I think this song is not bad.  Not great, but not too bad.

Well I watched the whole video right through. It was ok but I don't think the bands image suits their music. It almost sounded like country metal on the chorus which is ok but the verses just sounded like indecipherable nu metal crap from the late 90s early 2000s. The video looked like it was influenced by Tim Burtons Nightmare Before Christmas with the scarecrow. The part where the guy tried to look thoughtful and meaningful as he sang towards the end of the video cracked me up because it was impossible to take seriously with that stupid costume. I think this band would be better if they were more focussed instead of taking all these elements from everywhere and trying to put them together. ie The horror movie image, the heavy nu metal riffing, the distorted rapped verses and the country metal chorus. It sounds like they aren't to sure where they want to be. I think the guys voice sounds like he could be in a good country metal band, maybe along the lines of Alabama Thunderpussy, who were awesome.

Be warned this is not for everyone. Deathstars are a Swedish band who have been around for about 10 years. It's like a combination of the Sisters Of Mercy and  Rammstein dressed like Marylin Manson. Ignore the video and just listen to the song,I really like it.

I'm serious. I'm just really bored with you. I can't be bothered arguing with you and I can't be bothered reading your stuff, it's brainless. Just stick to that web police thread like you said you were going to and ignore any threads i create.

I'll agree about "Porn Star Dancing". (mistake)   I like the rest.
Mushroomhead is so far from Slipknot wannabes but to each his own. Only fans of each understand that
and Mushroomhead did come out first.
I liked my deal better but you refused so....???
I'll post anywhere I want and you can rip me wherever you want. I'm not bothered by you anymore.

Well so far budred, everything you have posted in here has been rubbish, with the exception of Fu Manchu. Porn star Dancing has been the worst. Scott Ians project with the members of Fall Out Boy is an embarassment to metal in general and is doing nothing more than increasing Anthrax irrelevance, and Mushroomhead are just Slipknot wannabes playing Seal covers, lame. I'll cut you a deal, you stay out of any thread I create and I'll stay out of any you create. How does that sound?

This band, Control Denied, was formed by the late Chuck Shuldiner of the band Death. He wanted to incorperate elements of heavy metal, power metal and death metal and came up with this album. The Fragile Art Of Existence, this song is called Believe.

They are a great band and now you mention it parts of it were very similar to Queensryche. Glad you liked it, might be a new band for you to check out.

Wow, that was GREAT JJ! The slower parts really reminded me of old Queensryche (Rage For Order and The Warning) which I really liked until they did Promised Land. Then this song turned darker and just had me hooked!

Here's a great American metal band. Nevermore have been around for 20 years but don't seem to have the profile they deserve. This song is kind of a ballad but it's cool.
