We're all great fans of Priest, but for you guys to take it to this level and to share it with all of us is such an unheard of act of giving that I haven't found anywhere else!! Okay. I just received Forged Steel in the mail today and I gave it a spin right after I got out of work. Here's my rating: 10/10!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WHAT AN AWESOME COVER ALBUM!!!!!!!!!!! 
Deep Freeze, Metal Meltdown, Metallark, Jim, Doug, Johnn...you all have done such a great job in playing the songs of the Metal Gods and coming up with a style of your own. That's pretty difficult to do, IMO, especially when it comes to covering a band as diverse in metal music as Judas Priest.
I just wanna say a big Thank You to all of you for taking the time and effort to make this masterpiece and to give us the opportunity to listen to it in CD form. I'm loving it more and more with every listen!! My current favorites are Hot Rockin' (LOVE IT!! DF at his best!!), The Rage, Metal Gods, Never Satisfied (awesome job on this one, Mettallark and Metal Meltdown!), and Hell Patrol.  Shoot, I bet even the Metal Gods would be pleased if they get a chance to listen to your latest work!!! I can only imagine how great Raw Steel must sound like!!
Also... a big thanks to Guido for doing such a great job with the album cover! It looks alot better than I expected.  I can't stop looking at it!!!
Great job, Faithful Defenders!!! You all stand out very well in this album!!! I tip my invisible hat to all of you.  |

Oh come now, my friend! Don't say that! You have done nothing for which you need to apologize!!!!!! In fact , it is a GOOD thing as it shows that we were able to keep true to the original music and make it work regardless of which one of us was singing! In fact, I have NO doubt Metallark could have done the songs I did and I his with very little difficulty! That is the beauty of what we did!!!!!
The most important part is the music. That is what matters! I am VERY grateful for the FIRST review from a regular member!!!! I was holding my breath for that first one and now it has come!! I am looking forward to the next!!!!!!!!! Thanks, Ron! |

Excuse my excitement!!! You're absolutely correct...but what I said bout the song is true, it just stuck out to me.
Rick, please excuse my ignorance...yes I read it, but like a kid on Christmas I listened to the disc and commented without going back to the sleeve to check the credits. Please accept my appologies as I totally fouled that up.
You guys will see that when you hear the disc in it's entirety, just like KK and Glenn, things meld seemlessly together with Forged Steel. I honestly don't pick up any noticeable differences...they both sound great and you can hardly tell them apart.
Anyway, I feel like a shmuck now, but that's my problem. I am going to leave now and listen to the music before I screw something else up...

I need to say this about one of the unsung heroes here...Guido!!! What a fantastic design to to the cover and back sleeve!!! It's such a classic look with a modern feel to it...outstanding job, man!!! I want to say more about this as well, but not yet!!! Dude...you nailed it!!!!

Also...I got two copies so I can give one to my daughter and I noticed a very noticeable difference between the two. OOOOKAAAAAYYYYYY.... We are getting close to release time. I would like to ask a favor from those of you that are interested in receiving a copy of the album;
Those of you that would prefer to get a DIGITAL version, please send me a PM saying so. From what I am told, it will be the same except that you will have to get your own case and download the art work and put it all together and all that crap if you want a case to keep it in. The music will, of course, be exactly the same. I leave this choice to each of you.
As we did with the last album, I will offer it to everyone via UPS. You will only need to pay the shipping cost to your area. I will give more details when we are ready to go. For now, I am only interested in hearing from those that prefer the digital copy! |

Guys,its obvious that the two of you have issues that none of us here understands.
Meltdown,since your feelings are not diminished on the matter,I have to say that Freeze is the only one thats here on a "regular basis" to talk to about the the project,again...I'm not saying that you should be here every day..ect...
I'm just saying that Freeze is here almost everyday and he is easy to get ahold of,way easier. We all have known that this is a group effort and not a single person project,Freeze never said anything to make us believe otherwise,but just to let you know we all know that you put in some time and effort towards this CD and sorry the two of you will have to agree to disagree.
That does'nt change the fact that we will all still want to hear the CD though.Great job and I look forwards to hearing it.
Freeze I will be asking you for one,actually "two" cds very soon. |

Your right Mike, It most certainly doesnt belong on the boards and I most certainly didnt mean to spill dirty laundry on here. It was a private matter between you and I. Mike. I wasnt asking JD for an apology. I made a comment in response to his comment about you being the only one here representing the project. To get to the bare bones about it, I dont appreciate being dissed especially when you wouldnt have a recording at all if it werent for what I did. Get off of your pompous high horse and leave my name out of your drawn out love letters to the membership. Take a good hard look at what I was going through and take a good hard look at your pushing for completion and then think about why there is animosity. I also DID offer to finish this project up about 2 or 3 weeks ago but YOU declined....

I made an announcement regarding the completion of this album. Had it not been for Johnn and myself, it would not have been done. We found the time. We made the time. It did not put one dime in our bank accounts nor did we get a loaf of bread. In fact, it has cost me a lot of money. Money I gladly spent because it means something to me. Metallark and a friend of his stepped in and assisted and for that we are also VERY grateful. Without them, it would have been a few more weeks while we had another drummer complete the tracks. It has always been my intention to properly credit EVERYONE that made this album possible and I will do so.....WHEN THE TIME COMES. My earlier post was not that time.
As I have said MANY times, I care very much for my friends here on this site. I would never leave you. Not willingly, anyway. Friendship, its nuturing and its preservation are what really matter to me most. Life happens. We deal with it. Most of the time, our problems are of our own doing. We control our future (to a degree). We make decisions. If they are not the right ones, that is our OWN fault. Fate takes its role. DEAL with it. I truly appreciate all of your support. While this will be the LAST Faithful Defenders album, I still think it will be the best. Certainly it will now be a "collector's item", no? HAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If I had all the time in the world then I would have spent more time on the project and this site but unfortunatly and as bad as this may sound to some, recording Judas Priest tunes and hanging out on this site doesnt put groceries in the fridge nor does it make my business phones ring, ease my tax burden and take the stress off of my day.
