As Acolyte- Question? Has the mystery of the deluxe edition CD in cardboard book style with 24 page info pamphlet versus "Firepower" CD, looks like it releases March 7th in the UK and the jewel case version here march 9th, any help will be appreciated

Thanks for the first impression. So far it sounds like it is, indeed, worth the $10 (if it's still $10, that is...I think that was the pre-order price).
Interesting little book. Size-wise too as you can see from the CD I threw in there for size reference!
Stories by other band members who describe admiration for Priest w/graphics to accompany their tales along with creative works, free art and whole songs ("Metal God" or "The Ripper" below) with conceptual art such as the page I snapped below. As one who likes and collects such graphic stories from around the world? Two thumbs up having just gone throught the first story and flipping through the artwork.

@JD -Yes it is awesome that after 30+years listening to them that) A- they are all alive)B-putting out a new album, I think Richie was/is more important than we will ever know, unless they finally write the book, and after the Ian Hill interview man we might get 19, however I think they really need to speed up the whole 4 years in between thing if they are to have a chance , but I will take #18 with 14 tracks to keep me going

Dude .... They can do one more album if they released it In 2020 and perhaps do a short tour maybe 5 elite shows Somewhere but we'd get the studio album ... Yeah Im dreaming It is AWSOME even if this is the last record cause like you said It's amazing in 2018 we are getting this kind of QUALITY material
@Acolyte...I'll check that out ASAP ... Acolyte,guido... It's awsome that the band found Ritchie Faulkner just to get them through the Epitaph tour 2011 ... Without him fitting in so well as he does ... We'd be toast without the Priest so man he is so important to Judas Priest in this stage of thier careers as I know you'd agree of course. Freaking loving this fact that Firepower will be releases March 9th !

Ok I heard Lightning Strike on killer computer speakers and its definitely got a different sound style than Redeemer Of Souls... I love this track ... Been listening to it every day and it's truly classic Judas Priest! I love the lyrics especially how Rob discribed all the lyrics on Blabbermouth article ...
It's got the same vibe/beat as the Redeemer Of Souls title track and I do LOVE the Redeemer Of Souls track but this song is even better! How do they keep coming up with these excellent tunes?
Yeah the sound and style sound different for sure. This album Firepower could be one hell of a record and could be one of the top 4 albums of thier discography just by the excellent quality of songwriting lightning Strike Shows.
Fuck this is awsome guys....Redeemer Of Souls and now Firepower is like the same feelings as when Screaming For Vengeance and Defenders Of The Faith were released back in 82' & 84'

Brand new Judas Priest "Lightning Strike " sounds killer to me! Yeah it's got the same ball park drum pattern as the Redeemer Of Souls title track song and yeah it's basic and yeah it's not ground breaking but wtf else do we want? I can name songs of old that are not better: "Here Come The Tears/SAINTS in Hell/Burnin Up/Don't Go/Take These Chains/Eat Me Alive/One Shot At Glory
Granted this might be the first time in Priest history that 2 albums may sound alike (Redeemer Of Souls & Firepower).... although listening on my phone from first listen does sound similar in style.... that's the only strange thing.... perhaps with a proper listen with ALL SONGS from start to finish on a proper stereo will give us a better idea as to weather the Firepower album has it's own sound identity .
Anyways I like it.... I'm sure it's a good fit on an album ..... crazy there is new Judas Priest in 2018!

Oh, situation report regarding next summer. I decided to eventually go to the festival for two days to see both Ozzy Osbourne and Judas Priest. Two-day ticket plus bus travels from the train station to the airfield (where the festival is held) cost me a total of 139€. Haven't checked train ticket prices yet, but shouldn't be much as Hyvinkää is not that far away.
I reckoned paying 40€ "extra" to see another great heavy metal artist on his last world tour is well worth it.
