Bleah! Not exactly the result i wanted at home either. As was said a hundred times during the game, the pitching was better but the Tigers couldn't string too many hits together!
What the heck is up with their big hitters?!

HA! While I haven't "jumped" by a longshot, I have been chatting this over with friends and family. We ALL have some advice for ol' Mr. Leyland about how NOT to pitch to someone. Has the guy heard of an intentional walk before? Why pitch to someone on a (very) hot streak when you have someone like Posey who was in a hitting slump waiting on deck?
While I didn't personally feel the fan-generated earthquake, I am having difficulty typing because I smashed the glass of my tv trying to reach through it to strangle the Tigers coaching staff. LOL!
wow! we got spanked last night @guido, and there was a 4.7 earthquake on the richter scale from everyone jumping off the band wagon!!! lol, its a long series, i hope we split in san fran. and go back home for the 3 game home stand on a high note!!! ROAR you tigers ROAR!!!!!!!!

You know what sucks? I could have planned a Dio Disciples show up there. They play on a Saturday and I have Sundays off.
It would have been perfect. I may try to hit a show in the spring. I'd hate to run into a storm during the winter. I was checking their line-up
and other than that masked band (lol) and D. D. there aren't too many bands scheduled that would make me drive to Detroit
to see them. I'll get a show in though and I'll try to get a picture and maybe video for youtube. Peace. [Show/Hide Quoted Message](Quoting Message by guidogodoy from Tuesday, October 23, 2012 1:17:36 PM)

Oh yeah, and get there on time. There are no seats on the main floor (some round tables and bar stools usually sit in back) and the stage is really tall so you normally can get as close as you want. Read this to say "as close as the massive bouncers allow!" During the Resurrection tour, I could have literally jumped up and smacked Metal Mike on the boot!

Basically, kept it to myself for two reasons. One, I didn't think anyone would care and two, I did it without
knowing what VIP involved. I emailed the venue last night and received a reply today. It made me
very happy. First the VIP tickets were only 40 dollars. Also they include a Dio album/CD(?) autographed
by the band. A picture with the band with a meet n' greet, a guitar pick, and a chance to win an autographed
guitar from the band. MRH VIP was 80 bucks and didn't include a meet n' greet or autographs. (Didn't buy it)
Anyway, I can't wait until this show. They were so awesome last year. If anyone here has a chance, GO. You

Considering they were only 22 dollars more than a regular priced ticket I had to go for it.
I was just hoping for special seating. I even told the wife it probably wouldn't include a meet n' greet.
they are only selling 50 VIP's so my chance at the guitar isn't too bad either.

Can't wait til Saturday.
I've seen Mushroomhead 9 times in the last three years the last being in May and
yet it seems like it's been forever since I've seen them. Saturday I get my fix.
The annual "Halloween" show in Cleveland. I can't wait.
...also, I saw where Dio Disciples are doing more dates. Some in Texas and California
and other parts of the U.S. as well. If any of you get a chance to see this and if you were a fan of Dio
I highly recommend this show. I saw them last year and thought they were fantastic. Ripper does most Dio well.
They changed the bass player and the keyboardist but I can't imagine it won't still kick ass. ...go see this show!!!
Ripper's own "Tap House" (Akron, Ohio) in November. I'll be there.

Igualmente even though it is almost post-hump here!
Sad case, isn't it? Apparently, they left the girl sitting in the waiting room for a couple of hours and, when the only ER doc that is on duty couldn't figure it out, they figured it was all psychological. Thus, they apparently restrained her until the psychologist could arrive. Of course, the hospital doesn't have one on staff.
While the story itself was big local news when it happened, rumor has it that the wrongful death suit was settled out of court with a gag order being part of the settlement. No officlal news ever reported, IOW.

Thanks again for the relay, HRMG, please keep 'em coming. Phil: the FB-phobes are pulling for ya buddy!
About the helicopter insurance, even with it just think of the nightmare in terms of logistics. Provided you can first afford it, you then have to be of sound mind to say that you have it BEFORE being admitted to the hospital. As you know, once formally admitted, you are theirs until they discharge or transfer you. Provided that the proper stars are in alignment and that your "life threatening injury" isn't so bad that you aren't able to give verbal (perhaps written as well) consent to go to another hospital, you best pray that the only helicopter isn't in use, the guys are around AND that the weather isn't bad (always something to keep in mind in tornado-land)!
That is why I try not to have my arms ripped off by a thresher. If I do, I'll be sure to check all of the variables mentioned above first. Oh yes, and be sure to practice signing my name with my toes.
THAT is scary!! But, I know it happens. Helicopter insurance? Wow, didn't know they had that but living far away from a decent hospital it makes sense. I feel sorry for those that can't afford it.
I just chatted with Phil on FB (it IS useful every now and then). He says THANK YOU and it means a lot to him to know that you and Becks send your best wishes to him for a full and speedy recovery. He said he can log in, but can't post on his mobile.

SOME people have a choice in hospitals, that is. Rural USA? We are screwed. One hospital if you can't afford (either due to time or injury) to drive 3 hours. Most avoid it like the plague as you'll most likely catch it there anyway! No joke. They were just sued and lost for having someone show up with classic symptoms of bacterial meningitis and they sent her to the psychologist.
Sad but not uncommon. The select few who can afford it here pay for additional helicopter insurance.

so true!! Our hospital has changed the food drastically - it's now much more like room service. You call them and order when you want to eat! What an idea - no more food sitting there waiting for you and all cold because you were out of the room for some test or something when they brought it. And I've heard that it's actually pretty tasty as well. Hospitals finally figured out that people have a choice in where they go and food is a major complaint so they are making a change for the better. That only took how long?

Same problem with me. Either that or I was STARVING and the meal was still hours away..... I always felt bad asking the nurses to get me a snack, but there is nothing worse than a very hungry new mom
All the best to Phil for his surgery!
Ahh that system of order when you want to eat sounds great HRMG! Would have been idea when I was in hospital after my c-section, cos inevitably when a meal got delivered Ada decided it was her food time so my meal went cold.

WHAT?! Now that is just silly! LOL!! Normally,I'd ask what you call a "dairy" but they haven't really existed since I was a kid. Back in the stone ages when you could count on the milkman to deliver all sorts of dairy products (in the milk chute, of course, that eventually gave way to the milk box in my house) and the most popular store at Granny's house was "the City Dairy." While I suppose you COULD buy milk there, I never got past the ice cream counter. YUM!

Yes at the supermarket I push a shopping trolley and my groceries go in to the boot of my car.
LOL!!!
Do you also push a "trolley" when you go to "the shops"?

Is it really the first official day? Not that I doubt you, Ms. Meterologist, I thought it started with college football. LOL!
Odd feeling as we have finally had a wee bit of rain around here along with under 90 degree weather. Makes things look even more gloomy with dark clouds hanging over crops that are dead in the fields. Doesn't look like they are even going to harvest for animal feed as they would have done it by now. I should take a picture. Might make for a good album cover. Led Zep planning on getting back together soon?

Great read thanks Acolyte, I especially liked Rob discussing how the SFV title track came about, that song always has e scratching my head a little in terms of how different it is to the rest of the record, IMO.

Very interesting read, Acolyte. Thanks for posting it. Great insight not only about what was going on but also what IS happening (litigation, new album, etc.).
I never noticed that Halligan returned to write the lyrics for Halford's "Twist." Love that tune along with the other JP songs he helped pen.

Does anyone know if there will be more than one version (special editions etc.) of the Screaming For Vengeance" release?
Do you know if it will be on sale @ Walmart or elsewhere? Walmart's are usually cheaper but they only sell censored albums in store.
Uncensored ones need ordered. Is tomorrow still the scheduled release date?

Last year I saw a Black Sabbath tribute band called Masters of Reality, a Dio one called Dia (all female tribute band), and the Iron Maidens (all-female tribute to, well, Iron Maiden). All at the same place, too. Might see a Led Zeppelin one this weekend, but who knows.
Yeah I've pretty much made up my mind that's what I'm doing. A little cheaper, a little closer and hopefully a little entertaining.
I haven't seen too many tribute bands. I saw a Sabbath one called Black Sunday that was cool and I saw a Kiss one called
Dressed To Kill that was cool also. I saw Ripper twice in tribute bands that was awesome. One called Seattle. He wasn't a member
but he did a set with them in a bar in Akron, Ohio and I saw the touring Dio tribute he did.
That was one of my favorite shows and no freakin' video.

hit 3 months, you go to months
hit 3 years, you go to years
of course near either side of a transition point you can use fractions, ie 3.5 months
should work the same with decades. nearly 4 decades myself.
but you must stop when the math gets hard. if you have to use 4 digits or scientific notation to express your age, you used the wrong format.

Ok all you mothers out there, when do you stop measuring age by weeks? Can I say that I am over 2000 weeks old?
[Becks] Wednesday, August 15, 2012 10:16:58 PM
Yay! Although it is already thursday here lol. The days seem to blend in to one at the moment, can't believe Ada is 3 weeks old in a few days already.
Here's a pic of my future metal head, sleeping which is always good LOL!

AWWWWWWWW!!! Whatta cutie! Here I was preparing to set up one of the best lines the comedian, Bill Cosby, ever said in "Ewwwww...put it back. It isn't cooked yet!" LOL but just can't with that little sweetie.

As for the Olympics. I caught a women's water polo match while at the gym this morning. USA vs Italy. Didn't get to see the end of the match, but the US was winning by a few points. [Show/Hide Quoted Message](Quoting Message by Becks from Sunday, August 05, 2012 5:44:03 PM)

It was a good game, we won 3-2, so plenty of action lol.
Team USA cereal?! The only USA olympic thing we've been 'subjected' too here is the stupid head and shoulders shampoo ads starring Michael Phelps LOL!!!
HAHAHA!! That should be a selling point on the box: CHOCK FULL OF GLUTENS!!
Throw blueberries in it. Blueberries make everything happier.

Welp, there's nothing on the box that says anything about the cereal being gluten-free, so I would say that it is chock-full of gluten. So if you were looking for some gluten-free American pride for breakfast, then, uh...sorry.
At least it has a bit more taste than the cereal I ate while in Germany. Tasted like cardboard.

HOLY crappola! MURRAY won the gold in tennis? Did Federer just stay out too late the night before? Del Potro beats Djokovic?!?
Damn. Didn't see the women's hockey or any tennis. All I get is fencing and volleyball. Shite.

Well any slow vehicle lanes that we have are on the left, there aren't many of them though. State Highway 1 here is mostly a two lane road if it gives you any idea of the lack of traffic here compared to other places LOL!
Right, what I really wanted to post was that Craig and I welcomed our little girl, Ada, in to the world early monday morning (30/7/12) via emergency c-section (not progressing, baby was in a funny position, I had a fever, so many reasons it happened via c-section lol). Birth weight 8lb13oz (4.010kg). She's a wee sweetheart. We came home from hospital on wednesday and are doing well so far. I'm quite sore still thanks to the surgery AND I have a stupid head cold which is finally going away. Craig is home for another week (he got wo weeks off, yay!) and has been a godsend, he really has.

Ok, I have a question for all you strange people who drive on the wrong side of the road: the LEFT!
Having rented a car in Grand Cayman, I forgot to ask someone which lane is the "fast lane?" I assume that on a two or three laner, the slow lane is also the left?

no problem. somewhere I have a picture, but I dont know where shit is
all my discs are on my pc, no idea where the discs are. looked good when I had it all displayed.
on the remaster CD's when you lined them all up in order of release there were little letters on the spines that spelled Judas Priest.
they also made a nice picture.

Something about the remasters and the letters of Judas Priest standing for
certain albums. I've been a Priest fan for so long that I was a little embarrassed
that I didn't know what you guys were talking about. Well, the curiostity factor is
getting the best of me.
Could someone clue me in if they know what I'm referring to?

depends how far to the side you are. I was in a box, the seats in front of me were not sold. we were paralel or slightly behind the drums. [Show/Hide Quoted Message](Quoting Message by acolyte55 from Friday, July 27, 2012 6:39:47 PM)

Nice header here, Murray. I made the exact same fade of the JP logo just for shits and giggles. Love the raise and fade.
I just blurred the yellow from the new Hellion to the first dark JP a bit more so it doesn't look like two different images. Still, kewl.

Sure seems like something should beckon beyond that big right emptyness. I kinda like it. I like the way they have shown the Metallian to be antiqued now.

Possible and likely, IMO. Would beat the heck of changing the fonts and colors of text.
