I now realize that we fans of Priest have always been a selfish lot. We have good reason to be.
Why mess with lightning in a bottle?
But we must go on. KK wants us to support the band and I'm sure they have found someone more than up to the job and works simpatico with Glenn. We all fell away when Ripper replaced Rob, because the lyrics and voice was not what we wanted, (we are a brutal judging bunch), and it was not a good separation back then. Not that it ever is for us fans.

I'll be out there supporting them. They are still  MY band, I will miss KK tremendously, and  might even cry, but I'll be there showing my love of my ALL TIME FAVORITE BAND.
I love my Metal Gods. It's hard enough to see a split so late, but I want to see them one last time. With tears in my eyes when the show is over.

I agree Freeze, while I'm interested in what a new album will be like,I can't fathom seeing it live, just can't. But Rob,Glenn and co. don't need us there, they have thousands of fans who do want to see them continue and see them live. They are going to have to prove us wrong and make a kick ass album.

Hey gang! Saw the news about KK. VERY sad. Just will not be Priest without him. I had considered catching one of the shows but, in all honesty, I simply cannot see spending the money and going to the "final" show when it is not really Priest.

I know the guys will deliver a tremendous performance and it will likely still be an incredible event but, for me, it would be like going to one of the shows with Ripper. Just not Priest, for ME.

As I suspected when I heard about the "final" tour, this is the end of an icon. They will always be special to me and I will cherish the wonderful memories that Judas Priest gave me. I think that (again for ME) it is just better that I remember them as they were.  I am SO thankful that I made the trip with Guido to Detroit and then again here in Vegas! THAT is how prefer to remember my final concert with them.

Much like this site, I will leave remembering some truly wonderful moments in my life. Some great times! To all of you, take care of yourselves and remember all the good things! Thank you for the great years!

I probably still would have bought the ticket even if this were announced already in December (as Rob's interview pointed out, KK made his decision around Christmas time). Maybe I wouldn't have bought the ticket immediately after it was possible to do so, but I still would want to see Rob, Glenn, Ian and Scott.

When you figure it out let me know. Months after I signed up I still couldn't do anything.
It's been a year now, I don't even check anymore. If it's that hard then f*ck it.

Hey everyone. Can anyone help me please. I've been trying to become a member of Rob's forums for a while now. I've already reg. 2 different names & e-mail addresses with no response back. I've sent many e-mails, again with no response. I had a friend sign up the same day I tried the first time & she got an e-mail within 2 days. Anyone have any idea what I need to do please send me a PM. Thanks for any help.

Hi guys

Just read this on KK s steel mill and thought u might like to see it can't believe he;s left!!

K.K. Downing press release

Dear friends,

It is with much regret that I will not be with you this summer. Thank you all from the bottom of my heart for your concerns about my health. Please rest assured that I am O.K.

There has been an ongoing breakdown in working relationship between myself, elements of the band, and the band's management for some time.

Therefore I have decided to step down rather than to tour with negative sentiments as I feel that this would be a deception to you, our cherished fans.

However I would urge you to please support the Priest as I have no doubt that it will be a show not to be missed.

All my love and respect,

[icecreamman] Thursday, April 21, 2011 9:05:16 AM
I will be going. I never seen Priest live, so it is a must.

I've only missed one tour since "Point of Entry"  so I'm sure I'll see this one also.
I don't know how I'll be able to enjoy it though. Seeing someone else doing K.K.'s
guitar work along with the sadness of knowing that this is it will definitely dampen
my enthusiasm. The analogy may be a little much but to me it will be like going to
a funeral. After all, these guys have been a part of my life for over 30 years. I've
been expecting this for a decade now. It had to happen eventually.

Thanks guys, the ride has been awesome.
Much great music, many great memories. One great band.

Yeah, I'm still going. Partly because I already bought the ticket in February, and partly because it's still 4/5 Priest, although it's not going to be same, of course.

I would like an explanation too, it's all very weird to me.

We are going too Vail. We just had to break the bad news to our 2 sons and tell them that they wouldn't be seeing KK Downing play..... ever...... I am going so that I can say goodbye to Rob, Glenn, Ian and Scott and thank them for EVERYTHING.
WTF is all I have to say to KK!!! And you are right, KK OWES us a fucking explanation!

[Vaillant 3.0] Thursday, April 21, 2011 12:03:08 AM
Now then. Time for some Metal Blah.

In light of the recent bad news, the big question now is:

Who will go see Judas Priest (without KK) perform live in their last ever world tour? Would anyone be willing to? As crappy as this question sounds, apparently the rest of the band wants to go on ahead with "all guns blazing" and with the new guy in tow. At least one thing is certain--a new album will come out next year. Here's hoping that KK helped in creating at least some of it (one SONG, at least).

Personally, I will go see them, at least to say goodbye to Glenn, Rob, Ian, and Scott, and give the new guy a chance. At least he won't be a permanent fixture, considering the rest of the band will be done soon. Still...this all blows. An explanation is needed, and fast.

My new guitar strings arrived today, after a week of not having a D string at all in my guitar.

However, I'm not feeling like playing anything after today's news.

I'm not claiming it to be true. Just noting it has that appearance.
I think I just posted that because of how thin he looks combined with the
way he was chewing that gum, it gave me that impression.

You'd be wrong about that Bud. Rob stopped drinking and doing drugs in 1986. This was 1988 just before the Ram It Down Tour. This was the fun loving, joking Rob that I very much miss these days.....
