I thought Brave New World was very good for a sort of comeback album. A few duds but it's overall very good to me. And did you ever notice that the riff at the end of Wickerman, the Wooo Ohhh Ohh oh part, is EXACTLY the same fucking riff as the galloping chorus riff in Out of the Silent Planet? It's just played faster.
I also liked A Matter of Life and Death as well. The Legacy is my favorite song off it.

And if you want to discover Iron Maiden's good albums, listen to
Iron Maiden -1980
Killers-1981
The Number Of The Beast-1992
Piece Of Mind - 1983
Powerslave -1984
Those 5 albums are Maiden's masterpieces and stand alone.
If you want more, than check out
Brave New World -2000(half of it is ok)
A Matter Of Life And Death -2006
and then check out "1988 Seventh Son Of A Seventh Son...half of it is ok.
I would stay away from 1986 -Somewhere In Time,1990 No Prayer For The Dying,1992 Fear Of The Dark,1995 The X Factor,1998 Vitual 11,2003 Dance Of Death(yuk).

Just for emphasis: HEAVY METAL! Regarding "A Matter of Life and Death", I haven't heard it yet, and it'll take me some time to get to it, what with the chest of NWOBHM I still have to dig up and other priorities. Shamefully, or not, I only know one Maiden album by heart and that's "Piece of Mind"... I love Iron Maiden every once in a while, couldn't listen to them everyday.
It is something I have to work on, so: any suggestions to discover Maiden?

Dance of Death had Rainmaker. The only saving grace, IMO.
Now then about that car trip. No "bogart-ing" and we'll both have quite a laugh!
