The first time I saw Ac/Dc was  1978. I thought they opened up for Cheap Trick
with the Dictators opening up for them. I lost my first 18 ticket stubs and my
memory is a little fuzzy. I was trying to research the order of the bands and saw
that Cheap Trick was listed as openers for them.
Did any one here see that tour and or remember the order of the line-up?
I think it was the Powerage tour?

Now that's something to look forward to.

AC/DC - Let There Be Rock DVD Release Date Announced

"Let There Be Rock"
, the AC/DC concert documentary that was filmed December 1979 at the Pavillion De Paris, will receive its long-awaited DVD release in January 2011. Eddie Trunk, the co-host of the VH1 Classic television program "That Metal Show", was interviewed about the band's impact for one of the DVD's bonus features. He writes on his blog, "[The company which is releasing the DVD is] doing some cleanups to the audio and video and making it as high-def as the source will allow." He adds, "I can tell you I have an advance and it looks and sounds great, but they are making it even better!"

According to the All Music Guide, "Let There Be Rock" was released in France a year after it was filmed, though American release was delayed until well after the band had established themselves in the States with new vocalist Brian Johnson and the multi-platinum success of the "Back In Black" album.

In his review of the original "Let There Be Rock" film, Fred Beldin of the All Music Guide writes, "Director Eric Dionysis captures the excitement of the live show with an energetic style and effective close-up shots, though the staged interviews and sub-'The Song Remains The Same' fantasy sequences show the band to be bemused but not convinced by these attempts to add some arty depth to the proceedings. The highlight of the extracurricular segments is Bon Scott, radiating warmth and humility in these last interviews before his untimely death at age 33 from alcohol poisoning."

LOL! Why say your "sorry" kiamat? I can give a rats ass about the overrated Iron Maiden,I'm glad they are out of the running only because they do not deserve to be in any running for anything since thier music has sucked the last 26 years HAHAHA!!

Not really...

The deluxe version of British Steel coming out has the remastered album, a Live DVD with bonus stuff on it, and a Live CD which is either the audio from the DVD or quite possibly a 1980 concert......... thats yet to be confirmed.

Thats a lot of extra stuff for a "reissue".

The Iced Earth thing is a cash in, the British Steel thing isnt. 2/3 of it is new stuff.

I agree. When you put out an album just put the fuckin thing out. Re-releases, and bonus tracks and alternate takes an all this other shit is really annoying. The re-release of the re-release of British Steel is a classic example.

Thats all good information Joe and all,but I'm so sick and tired of all these bands releasing all this stuff thats really nothing new, just shuffled around with a new booklet ect...sure a few new things but over-all nothing really new. Man all that information about Iced Earth and ect...all that time and energy all those stories ect...its a shame I don't like any of it lol! I do like the first 2 Iced Earth albums, they blow away anything else the band has ever done in my opinion. But I'm glad for the Iced Earth fans of the today if they like these new packages ect...

Iced Earth: Box Of the Wicked

ICED EARTH's "Box Of The Wicked" will be released in Europe on April 26 (three days earlier in Germany) and May 18 in the U.S. via SPV/Steamhammer Records. The set is limited to 10,000 copies worldwide.

While ICED EARTH's 1998 album "Something Wicked This Way Comes" provided a general overview of the story guitarist/songwriter Jon Schaffer has been conceptualizing for well over a decade, the saga was fully brought to life with the release of the back-to-back conceptual albums "Framing Armageddon" and "The Crucible of Man". The albums provided answers to mysteries the previous releases created, and the timeliness of the story in today's world were guaranteed to keep people thinking and guessing. Schaffer's ability to convey the central themes and events of the story without always revealing exactly "why" characters' decisions are made and "how" events come to pass will keep fans of the saga coming back as future mediums for the "Something Wicked" storyline are revealed.

The whole saga is now included in this high-quality hardcover boxset (height 13 cm, depth 4.5 cm, width 14.5 cm) featuring the original digipak CDs "Framing Armageddon" and "The Crucible Of Man" as well as the original digipaks EPs "Overture Of The Wicked" and "I Walk Among You". Judas Priest will be appearing on Bruce Dickinson's 6Music Rock show on 9th April. You can listen at http://www.bbc.co.uk/6music/shows/bruce_dickinson/ between 9 and 12pm. It will not only be a great interview with the metal Gods, this will also be one of Bruce's last ever shows , since the BBC, as part of 'cost-cutting' is axeing the sole show that plays new and underground rock and metal (ahead of getting rid of the whole radio station) so it can afford to keep hold of Radio One's celebrity chart-show DJs.

GBH new album "Perfume & Piss"  2010!!! Since my Darkthrone went to shit,at least this is a breath of fresh air!!
Metal is better than punk, but comparing the new Darkthrone to the new GBH...GBH wins easily.

I'm sure metal fans will be lining up at the doors of record stores worldwide when this highly anticipated cd is released. First time I've heard of Gary Cherone being described as spellbinding. Maybe he wrote that press release himself.

Though now I come to think on it, maybe this will give them a much-needed musical change of direction for the new album. Ultra Beatdown was okay, but it was just a watered-down version of Inhuman Rampage. I'm still a little shocked though. I'm sure they can find a good singer, but can they find someone with the same onstage attitude? The best thing about DF gigs (when they're not too drunk to play properly!) is that they have a feel-good, not-very-serious atmosphere, more like a party than a concert. I don't want them to lose that.
