Yeah, me too. Tho honestly, both Japan and Paraguay didnt show much, and I think that it was one of the most boring matches on this cup. Still, it would be nice if Asia would have their representatives in the quarter finals. Well, at least Africa still does, and even tho Ghana probably has the least chances of winning the cup, Im rooting for them. If not them, then I guess the Dutch or the Germans will be my favourites. Holland and Brazil dominant last night. I don't think Holland can win it but you never know, it only takes one goal. Sounds like a dumb thing to say when they've got guys like Kuyt, Robben, Sneider and Van Persie out there but I think in the past they've had better sides than they do now and not been able to crack it and it'll be the same this time. I only saw the first half of Brazil/Chile but from what I saw Brazil handled Chiles good start well and then capitalised clinically when their chances came. Definately a final contender ( as always ).
Looking forward to tonights Spain/Portugal match. Hopefully Torres can get out of this slump he's in and get a few goals.

Yeah it was a brilliant game between the Germans and England, we will definitely be getting up to watch the quarter final between the Argies and Germany. Germnay is my favourite, and like you said, if both teams play to their full potential, it'll be a fantastic game.
Yeah Ronaldo is a bit of a dick, I'm not too fussed on who wins that game, but Spain would be my pick right now. Thought the game could have been a little different if the ref had of allowed Englands second goal. It took Germany a while to settle after Englands first strike and an equaliser could have really rattled them. However, didn't happen and the Bosch finished strongly. Argentina all over Mexico. I only saw the first half but they looked to be the better team by far, I guess the final result showed they were. The Bosch/Argies clash in the quarters will be a cracker if both sides play like they did today. Shame they can't meet in a semi or final. Whoever wins that game would probably be favoured to win the tournament. Spain/Portugal should be a cracker too. I'm picking the Spanish and would love for them to win it because I can't stand Christiano Ronaldo. |

I enjoy watching Ozil play, like you said, it's great to see a player who doesn't hog the ball! And yeah I know, Klose is an old fart by football standards LOL!!! Personaly, I have high hopes for Mesut Özil. That run and assistance for the fourth goal were legendary. Pretty much made the whole goal himself, but still had the brains to pass the ball to someone who was in a better position to score. Which happened. Great to see a player who isnt entirely selfsih. | | Becks wrote: | | Oh yes Slovakia vs Netherlands should be a good game, I hope Slovakia win too!
Yeah the way Germany are going (when they play well) I think most teams will struggle to come close to them. They counter attack so quickly and have a whole bunch of really talented young players. | | _strat_ wrote: | | Yup. And judging by how they play, we might just have this years champions.
Tho, my number one team at the moment remains Slovakia. Theyre playing the Dutch tomorrow, and I hope they can send home another football superpower. | | Becks wrote: | | I hope so too. Germany is the only team I support that is still in the competition LOL! Go Germany! | | _strat_ wrote: | | Shit... ANOTHER bad call from the ref. I hope that the Germans will eat Argentina in the quarter finals. |

Yeah, and after they actualy stoped the game to debate the matter. I guess its really time to get replays for the referees. Yeah, sure, it wont solve all bad calls, but this one would have been.
Of course, that wasnt the end of it. I think that the referee pissed his pants later, and compensated Mexico by allowing them rough play - that faul at the end of the first half was a red card if ever I saw one - but by then the game was already ruined. Mexico was a better opponent at the start, and who knows how it would have gone if the ref simply made the right calls. I like to root for the underdog, but apart from a few minutes, England could have phoned this one in. Shame. If it's any consolation, US blew it too. Oh, well better luck next time.
