Man it sounds like things are a bit messy with the election over there Kiamat! We always end up with a shit fight here, cos of the MMP system we use - I think the UK uses the same system. All sorts of stupid coalitions get made, and if it's a very tight coalition, sometimes the majority party gets held to ransom over issues by coalition partners, all sorts of nonsense.
I'm sure we'll have fun at the concert too Craig may or may not be in the country then, but at least he has a ticket just in case LOL!

Its all down to Nick Clegg now, Spa. Many of his supporters will see it as a betrayal to throw his support behind the Tories, but if he goes for Labour, even a couple of other parties like SNP and Plaid Cymru do the same, Brown still won't have enough of a majority.
Personally, I think David Cameron will get it, and much as it pains me to say this, I hope he does too. I still remember when John Major was in power and Conservatives were the bloated fat-cat baddies out to ruin everyone, pitted against the wonderful New Labour who were going to save the country and usher us into some kind of golden age.
Well, look how that turned out...

Becks, I cannot stress how insanely jealous I am- the past three times Metallica have come to the UK I have either been unable to make the date or unable to get tickets. I hope you and Craig have a really really good time!  Whatever people say about them, you rarely hear bad things about their live shows these days.

That's why I got Craig to do it, LOL! I would have gotten annoyed with any rigmorale. I used to be a massive Metallica fan, and I am glad I will get to see them live, but there are other bands I would be much more excited to see live. Priest, for instance, lol.

Unfortunatly, Gordon Brown just continues to prove what a classless act he is. He will probably pour his feet in concrete in a  10 Downing Street tub so as to make his removal all the more difficult.  I have no words for what a disgrace it is that the fool is still  there.
Reminds me of Dub-ya's first run at office when his brother handed him the election all wrapped up like a gift, in Florida.

Sounds like too much hassle for me. I'll wait til Tuesday. Not to fussed about the artists formerly known as Metallica.

There's a presale going on, if you go to the Radio Hauraki website I believe they have details, including the password needed. We did ours through The Rock, and C4 have details too, if you're signed up to their website.

Union chucked us out at 4- we never intended to stay that long but Labour and the Tories were neck and neck the whole way. Sad to say its looking like a hung parliament.

Worse, the voting this year has been a shambles- running out of ballot papers, postal votes being lost, and worst of all so many polling stations didn't have enough staff to cope with the numbers of people, so in a lot of places (including our nearest) people were still queueing to vote at 10 o'clock and were turned away- one of my best friends was right at the front (he'd been there for at least an hour) and they shut the door in his face. In some places they actually carried on letting people in, but legally any votes cast after 10 aren't valid... so, its a mess right now.

Anyhow, Good night (morning?!) all!

Chances are at their age you'll be treated to a good deal of the "old stuff" which will make it worth it.
I'm not British, I have no british  relatives that I know of but when I read the international news I absolutely HATE Gordon Brown and Labor.  I have been facinated with waiting for this election for the past two years because if that were my country, we would have impeached the fool long ago. Ineptitude should get you thrown out of office, but then again we did suffer 8 years of Dub-ya  after having one of the best President's of the modern times. ARRRGH! Thank god, that's over.

Sure you can Spa! LOL!
It'll be interesting to see who wins the UK election, a lot of people I've spoken to don't like Gordon Brown lol.
Well I'm happy as cos we just bought our tickets to see Metallica in october, they're coming to NZ for (at the moment) one show. I know I know, a lot of people here don't like them, but I am a fan (granted of their older stuff, St Anger is AWFUL, so is Reload, the list goes on) but I have wanted to see them live for ages and now I am so yay! lol.

Indeed it has been rather quiet! I've been busy settling in to my new job, with work times becoming more set in stone soon, yay! And, it's friday here! LOL! Woohoo for the weekend!
[Deep Freeze] Thursday, May 06, 2010 12:31:11 PM
My friend, PLEASE never resort to self-deprecation when talking about your music!!!!! I admire and respect ALL that work to learn music, play instruments and be a part of the world of music in general! There is no such thing (to me) as an "uncool" musician! Further, you are young and will only progress and improve as the years go by and THAT is WAAAAAAAY cool!!!!! You have my sincere respect!

We play mostly covers (Rock and Roll!)  As anyone that is in this business will tell you, doing covers is about the only way to get paid. Its nice to play your own music but there is very little demand for it in the real world. We do throw a few originals in and that is very satisfying. I love seeing the crowd's reaction to MY music! It's wonderful! However, we play about 95% covers (including some Priest!) and that keeps us working and getting a paycheck! There's a fine line between trying to stay "true to yourself" by pushing your own songs and actually getting money to play. There's really NO money in recording and selling CDs unless you have a Label that wants to sign you. It simply does not work, period. Once your few family and friends buy a CD, it all goes away and BELIEVE ME, recording is expensive!!!!!!!

We will never get rich but we work regularly and get to play music. We also get to write and play a few of our own songs and that is great. It is a lot of work but it truly is a passion. NEVER stop playing and learning, Kia! It is worth it. Someday you will realize that. It is NEVER too late.

Hey Freeze!
Indeed it has been quiet, but then again, until Priest make any noise regarding new tours or albums, there isn't so much to talk about. Except for your amazing band, of course! Great to hear that you're getting lots of gigs
Oh, I've been meaning to ask- do you do all original material or are there any covers thrown in? If so, what?

Well, I have to go- second rehearsal of today (this one for a choral concert on Saturday). Hopefully a touch more optimistic than my Early Music Ensemble rehearsal this morning, where we received the sad news that our cellist is leaving us to go study in Ireland- she will be much missed .

Now I've put that, I've realised what an uncool musician I am next to you guys. Still, being a music student is all about being a geek- we know it and we don't care!

See you all around. Will be spending the night in the union bar- or at least until we find out who will be in charge of the country tomorrow...

Hello there, Priest-o-philes!!! How's everyone? All quiet here and I do mean QUIET!! I am STILL exhausted from the River trip. We are laying low this week in anticipation of hitting the road again this weekend!!! Appears as though we will be playng in 90 degree heat in front of about 200 people!! YOW!

I have to say, I really need this quiet time. I am literally spent and it seems as though it takes forever to regain any energy at all!  Damn age!!..(umm...and weight!)  HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh well, what are you going to do, huh?? Anyhooooo, looks as though all is well here and THAT is very satisfying! Troll control seems to be working well and all is as it should be! Well done...MOST of you!
