Thanks bud.  The solo is in 2 parts the 1st half is an octave of each other the 2nd half is harmonies and there is a 3rd track with the high end harmony at the tail end of it.   All parts are layered with delay and light chorus effect......

This song is the direction I want to head in.  Darker and heavier...

Heres a band that is not as talented as Judas Priest,I sure am glad that I have Dale and Brian Evans(the stupid one since there are two of them) to confirm this one.

Its sad in this day and age that the both of you call yourselves "metal fans" when really you guys don't know nearly enough about metal at all.Again,both of you go back to school and do your fuckin homework before you even think about discussing "metal" with a metal veteran as myself.

I grew up in the 1980's I was 10 years old in 1980 when I first got into heavy metal with British Steel and I was 19 years old in 1989 getting into the first Morbid Angel album...I've been through the entire 1980's as a "metal fan",heavy metal,black metal,death metal,thrash metal and I know these genres very well,I am a veteran.

If Venom had a sound like Defenders Of The Faith it wouldn't be fucking "Venom" now would it? No.

I do NOT like very much punk rock at all yes a few that I really like,but not very much at all,most of it sucks to me but I even know "why" they sound like they do,I know that they are not trying or claming to be "talented". Yeah I know you were not "criticizing it" jimmy and yeah I know what it means:In Latin, the text “JESUS OF NAZARETH, THE KING OF THE JEWS” would have been written, “Iesus Nazarenus Rex Iudaeorum.” Abbreviated, this phrase results in “INRI.”  I got the "punch line" and the joke as well.  

Venom's best albums are the first 4 from 1981 to 1985 Welcome To Hell,Black Metal,At War With Satan and Possessed.The other 2 albums by Venom that are very good are 1996 "Cast In Stone and 2000 "Ressurection". Those are the 6 best Venom albums of all time,the rest I wouldn't really recommend.

I like Bathory's first 4 albums,1984 "Bathory" then "The Return" and then 1986 Under The Sign Of The Black Mark and the classic 1988 album "Blood, Fire, Death . But when "Twilight Of The Gods" came out in 90' or 91'   thats when I didn't care for Quorthon's music anymore,it just wasn't "Bathory" to me anymore as the sound and style changed to drastically. 

Celtic Frost used to be very cool with thier first 2 albums 1984 "Morbid Tales" and 1985 "To Mega Therion" but after that they fell apart going into a very commercial non-like-Celitc Frost style.By the time Vanity Nemisis came out they were already "terrible" in my opinion. 

The best King Diamond albums in my opinion are Fatal Portrait,Voodoo and The Puppet master,but thats the only 3 albums I really like by the King,the rest are just not my thing.  These are the albums from Venom,King Diamond,Celtic Frost and Bathory that I would recommend you playing on your radio show rather than any other releases from these bands.The albums that I mentioned are the band's best albums in the eyes of many old-school fans from back in the day,just an observation and of course an opinion but a damn good opinion! lol!

I wasn't criticizing it. I.N.R.I is the inscription on the cross, it stands for Jesus of Nazareth King of the Jews or something. It's just the punchline to an old joke that it actually stands for I'm Nailed Right In. Actually quite like Venom, played one of there songs on my last radio show. King Diamonds pretty cool too, always liked Fatal Portrait and Conspiracy. Even had a couple of Bathory albums on cassette, Blood Fire Death and another one called Twilight i think. Have to dig them out and have another listen to them, if i can find a cassette player, they're pretty hard to come by these days. Yeah its probably nothing that floats your boat jimmy,but these bands are the elite classic black/death metal bands of the 1980's,these are the Godfathers of extreme metal.There was nothing before "Venom" only "punk" and of course traditional heavy metal like our own Judas Priest,but for extreme metal ....nope,there was nothing before Venom.

They created "black metal" and also the term "death metal",speed metal and thrash metal...it was all Venom.The media quicky labeled anything "satanic" as "black metal" in the early 80's and thats what it became,even old Mercyful Fate like the debut album and Melissa,Don't Break The Oath albums were considered "black metal" even though King was playing heavy metal music wise,but because of the heavy satanic theme it was called "Black metal" and looking back on it now rightfully so.

At that time there was no band that supported corpse paint as King Diamond did with his satanic beliefs. Venom created black metal but it was Venom,Mercyful fate and Bathory are the 3 bands that made up the early black metal scene of the 80's along with bands like Hellhammer,Celtic Frost and Sarcofago as well.Some of these bands like Venom,Bathory,Sarcofago didn't play guitar solos in some of thier songs but the majority had them, while a band like Hellhammer didn't play solos at all,just rhythm guitar assult and it wasn't because they didn't know how to play solos,and it wasn't the record company telling them not to play any because of a "trend" like the early 90's grunge scene,it was an "underground"  attitude of agression,thats it...no other reason.

Just like the old punks not playing solos,it wasn't designed for technical guitar solo players at all,it was to cater to the underground rivit heads into non-popular music,every track didn't need a glamourous "guitar solo" but they still played some,just not every track.People who can't understand this are nothing more than "morons". Its like bashing the Ramones for not playing "solos"?? lol! But these bands were "classic underground" elite bands from the awsome 1980's. Toxic Holocaust's song "Nuke The Cross" plays tribute to this genre and they do it well,very well.

Sarcofago - INRI - 1987 Total influence on the norwegians who would later support the second wave of black metal in the early 90's. Venom,Bathory,Hellhammer were the influence that Sarcofago upheld at this time. Total "CLASSIC METAL" from the 1980's with yet again no guitar solo in this track.

 A real old-school fan would know this and where is the guitar solo in the opening track "Hades" on the first Bathory album dipshit?? There isn't one because not every track HAS to have a guitar solo and this was the philosophy back in the early to mid 80's way before the pop-cultured shit bands like Nirvana chose not to use guitar solos because they didn't know how to play them or the record company told them not to because of the latest "trend".

Bands like Bathory would occasionaly pumble a song all the way through with NO solo sometimes upholding the philosophy of the 70's punk like Venom sometimes used to do. Where is the "guitar solo" in Breaking The Law?? There isn't one so I suppose Judas Priest sucks because they didn't play a freakin "guitar solo" like Iron Maiden would of? Psfffff what a joke.

I agree with you there Priest Hammer - Christians do tend to read too much into things! I went to Catholic school for 12 years and in 7th grade, my music teacher took it upon herself to try to "save my soul" from the likes of Judas Priest heavy metal. HAAAHAHA! Well, you can see how that turned out, can't you? Anyway, she made us all write out the words to one of our favorite songs and then write what the song was about. Since we all were taught to read something and then interpret it as a whole body of work, that is what we all did. She told us all that we were wrong and we were supposed to interpret it word for word. We argued that you take it out of context that way (DUH!) but it's the only way for them to prove the point that they want to make. I wrote out Bloodstone and You Got Another Thing Coming, just to see what she could come up with. She couldn't find anything wrong with Bloodstone (and it killed her!) and she said YGATC was Satanic because of this line: One Life, I'm gonna live it up. Her comment was that they don't believe in eternal life and so it is Satanic. Ummm.... yeah, OK. She also told us that Def Leppard was Satanic because of their name - they are mocking Jesus because he cured the DEAF and the LEPERS....... So at the age of 12, I realized that not all adults were more intelligent than 12 year olds!

Yes, I saw it. I actually thought it was cool to listen to Painkiller backwards! LOL!!! I am not a christian and I strongly do not believe in god  but I have many friends that do believe..ect...its all good,but I even know that when they write about the darkside its just  a show but its cool!!!!! lol!!! 

If Priest took out all the evil shit like Hellrider and Judas Rising,Sinner,Ripper,Genocide,Grinder,Hell Is Home(lyrics) it wouldn't be Judas Priest.You may say these songs are not "evil" but you know what I mean and what I'm saying they lean towards the darkside because the darkside is cool.

Did anyone catch the YouTube video "PopCulturePastor" slamming Judas Priest for 'reverse' Satanic leanings? From a Priest fan point of view it's actually cool to watch... most way through the 9+ minute clip it plays the Painkiller track backwards! But it throws in other things like verses from Priest and Bible verses to block.

For myself I find it to be a load of crap because I'm a Born Again Christian and a Judas Priest/Heavy Metal fan. I know the difference between Satanic lyrics from Science Fiction based heavy metal lyrics. Rob writes very much in a sci-fi way because he's a fan of it himself.

I hate saying this, but my brother Christians read too much in to all that. They can't seem to seperate fantasy from reality so they bash what they don't understand.

lol! The speed tempo in that track "The Menace" is what I was talking about,with sped up tunes like this inbetween the slower paced tracks makes an album more interesting by far,it actually makes the slower paced tracks more interesting.Thats what Heaven & Hell should of done with  the"The Devil You Know"  album instead of settleing on all mid-paced tracks,they don't have one fast type of track on that album and I think that it hurt it. Not that your trying to keep up with Black Sabbath or anything,but for other heavy metal listeners I've always noticed that they like a mix of fast songs within an album,they don't all have to be fast but with 10 songs on an album they want at least 5 of them fast and the other 5 can be slow or mid-paced.Just an observation.
