"Murder Falcon" graphic novel, the heavy metal cover variants are awesome #1 was Painkiller #2 was somewhere in time, a bit of the story was the guitarist finding his bass players "spirit animal" to channel, it was a wooly mammoth and his name is Halford! Lol good bit of fun, trying to find a 1st printing of the Painkiller one- also HEY actual Headbanger, you get Priest in Edmonton June 11th! Hey Accolyte. I am sort of torn between going to Lethbridge and Edmonton. Lethbridge is a smaller venue, but Edmonton I think will be easier work wise, and maybe I can expense the hotel!!!
WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK is up with Uriah Heap as the opener? when did they last play live? Ok, I googled that, and they toured in 2018 and actually looks like they played in Alberta.
still, way to stay relevant

Interesting factoid from Rob:
“Sea of Red from our Firepower record talks about Remembrance Day 11th November. Lest we forget”
[Head banger] Thursday, November 01, 2018 8:41:03 PM
Acolyte- got around to KK's book, one surprise in there that Baxter was an item with Rob, my thoughts are that KK really wanted to let fly but always pulled back from absolutely saying something about a particular subject, there was for me an underlying message that he never fully shares, was it because he felt a true tell all would ruin any chances of a reunion? Or any chance of reconciliation? I don't know. It just seemed to me that he was bursting to tell us exactly. What actually transpired but faced possible ramifications either personally/professionally. The drug and alcohol stories were a bit weird for me, Rob gets a paragraph about his issues approx. And then moves on, yet there is repeated mention of Glenn is actually the one with the issues IMO as a reader. The other thing for me is the lack of pictures, really a dozen pictures after almost 40 years come on the book should have been full of candid pics, also not a lot on his rigs and guitars, I am not a player but I know he has inspired a lot of people to play, so I would gladly have hung around for a chapter or 2 while he made some guitarophile's day! I will look through it again as I think more on it and post, Cheers

Whatever the situation was we'll never know but whoever it waswho made the decision NOT to tour Nostra-bore-us in it's entirety I'd like to hug and Kiss them because I fuckin HATE that album.
There are 5 albums that shouldn't of been recorded and shoved off on us fans: TURBO...RAM IT DOWN...JUGULATOR....DEMOLITION... ...NOSTRADAMOUS. They should have Mr.Yuk stickers on them. HA!
Here is some fun:
Here's my "The Worst Of Judas Priest" double album 21 tracks excluding at least the Jugulator,Demolition and Nostradamous albums:
1.Here Come The Tears 2.Burning Up 3.Before The Dawn 4.Evil Fantasies 5.Don't Go 6.All The Way 7.Troubleshooter 8.Eat Me Alive 9.Turbo Lover 10.Locked In 11.Private Property (2nd worst Priest track ever) 12.Parental Guidance(THE worst Priest song ever) 13.Hot For Love 14.Love Zone 15.Im A Rocker 16.Johnny Be Goode 17.Love You To Death 18.Monsters Of Rock 19.Revolution 20.Lochness 21.Metalizer
These songs I've always hated and think they shouldn't of even been recorded. I know some like some of these songs and to each his own but also I know there are other tracks that come close but I somehow still like every song not mentioned here and those 3 shit albums I excluded.

JANE did, no question. The band would have and SHOULD have exploded without her / Curbishley. MUST have had backing from someone in the band.
Ain't pointing no fingers, as I have yet to read the book, but we all know without any whistle-blowers what happened. Baxtergate, anyone? All a sad situation there. Still... Make mine PRIEST!
I respect your opinion. I'm not talking about keeping the band together and making more albums, I was referring to KK stating that Jane and Glenn would not tour in the summer months and refusing to do interviews or anything else that was presented to the band. I always felt the management did not do a good job of promoting Priest and they suffered from that. Also, Halford has said he wanted to do a full Nos concert which I think would have been great but probably would have cost them more than they would have earned. I have no ill will against Glenn but from different interviews I have heard and things I have read Glenn most certainly had the say so in Priest so again I feel he did hurt the band back in the day.

@Metalman JP from the blah thread....
I highly disagree with everything you've said. I've never had the impression Glenn was a "jerk" not to mention I don't believe everything K.K. says. And not sure how Glenn held the band back supposedly "taking over"? Had he not the last Judas Priest album would of been 2008's Nostradamous lp.
Downing has BOLDLY made it CLEAR he wanted to PUSH Judas Priest into the NOSTRADAMOUS direction touring it....and has also said that He wanted Nostradamous to be the LAST Priest album. Had Glenn not took hold of the wheel this band would be retired long ago.

Nostradamus tour as a full album, would have cost a fortune, orchestra in every town you play in or only play select cities, the album wasn't well received,so KK had his chance to plan some direction and it didn't go over well. I believe he is sad he left and regretting his decision to leave, however without the influx of the different perspective and energy of Richie I don't know if they would have made another album, let alone 2 + world tours, I think his business was his priority and KK left to devote more time to it.i think like 2003, they will one day meet for a cup of tea and talk and maybe, just maybe KK comes back for the next album, but they are running out of time - Acolyte
[J.D. DIAMOND] Monday, October 01, 2018 2:48:20 PM
Well the thing is K.K. says he regrets losing control of the band's decision making. Eddie Trunk interview audio has K.K. speaking about this and he says Glenn was too controlling with the band's decision making etc... and K.K. goes right into the NOSTRADAMOUS era and says how HE WANTED to play the album in it's entirety and wanted to PUSH the album to it's fullest commercial potential.
Well let me just say that sure that may be true but can you imagine if K.K. ended up controlling the band over Glenn? There would be no Redeemer Of Souls,no Firepower,no Ritchie.... just an extended tour, live album after Nostradamous. The next studio album would of been a watered down JP album id imagine with K.K. at that time if there even would of been one.
Could it be that Glenn,Rob and Ian didn't SHARE the enthusiasm to promote Nostradamous in it's entirety so Glenn went behind closed doors to Jayne and said NO WAY on Nostradamous tour and this is why the 30th anniversary of British Steel came about to promote IT INSTEAD?
I believe it was. Yes Glenn,Rob love Nostradamous but at the same time realized that the fans were craving Judas Priest style heavy metal. Remember there were musical differences between K.K. and the band. Rob mentioned afterwards that "The band has much more to say" and how Ian mentioned they wanted to continue on with traditional heavy metal albums "like Angel Of Retribution" etc...
With all the things said from K.K. and how the band is on top of thier game ever since Ritchie Faulkner joined the band I can't fathom HOW there will ever be a scenario where K.K. joins the band unless it's a one song ordeal at a possible Rock And Roll Hall of fame had they be inducted but that's it.
I think K.K. is bitter because of how successful Firepower turned out to be and how much attention Judas Priest are getting with this. Edited at: Monday, October 01, 2018 3:11:55 PM

In all the times I had seen JP play live since my first concert in 2008, I have NEVER seen Glenn put on a sub-par performance, or play so badly that it could be attributed to drinking one too many beers. If he WAS drunk, then he hid it pretty damn well. That or he has the world's strongest liver. I dunno. It's just ridiculous how much Blabbermouth is taking out the dirty laundry that's in KK's book for the whole world to see. I'll bet even KK himself is getting sick and tired of it.
Ok one of the things K.K. Downing keeps complaining about in different articles lately, sure Blabbermouth.net or others will take something he said and post it looking like K.K. keeps doing daily interviews when he may of only done a couple in one day and that was it yet again,it looks like he is posting stuff every other day but HE did say those things.
Now a question for guido, acolyte and Vail due to the fact us 4 seem to be posting consistantly:
You guys have SEEN the band perform live MULTIPLE times and Guido you have multiple audio bootlegs from all over 70s,80s,90,2000s,2010s.... from every decade. Has Glenn Tipton ever sounded "off".... out of rhythm perhaps or sloppy as if he's had too many beers??
K.K. says again that Glenn's drinking was slowing down the band and made K.K. "fucking nervous" to the point that he didn't know if the gig they were playing they were gonna be "ok" or not and how the other guys in the band FELT THE SAME WAY and that he tried talking to Glenn about his "drinking habits" but THAT got him nowhere. All this Glenn's drinking ....and K.K. even said "not that the fans would of noticed but I'm a perfectionist and want everything perfect.
I believe K.K. YES why would he make up something like this ok. But to WHAT extent? If it was that big of an issue don't you think ROB and Ian would of SAID something to the point of taking action?
In other words I think I'm saying K.K. may be exaggerating this beyond it's validity. I really do. What do you guy's think?

@JD, I am hoping that it is shock factor to sell books, on the other point, the only one I have ever seen miss a beat was Travis in 2015 and the guys made fun of him and Travis blamed it on all the pot smoke in the venue, I told you guys about this here in 2015 after I seen them, I have never seen a trip, stumble bumble or anything, no sloppy guitar work ever, there have been issues with their rigs or sound sure, but never would I have said, hey Glenn reallly screwed the pooch on that solo because he is smashed -Acolyte

@JD, I see the same people asking or claiming KK is coming back to the band, but the overwhelming majority seem to be quite happy that the band is continuing, they put out a great album,so I think the show will go on Andy is getting more comfortable on stage and Rob is belting it out AND the show is ending with the Priest will be back! Which is great news considering glenns health, I think like you do, he will play in the studio, but not tour, maybe do shows where he doesn't have to travel at all? But that puts Rob in the 70-73 range with finishing this tour, new album and tour so fingers crossed

Well.... these guy's are like brothers that's for sure, family definitely so they can say stuff about each other and then water under the bridge. Who knows ....
K.K. if your reading this by some fluke chance then text Rob or Glenn and just say if you need me I'm here for you guys no questions asked,if not love you guys, let's have a beer when you have time๐
Rob,Glenn, if your reading this by some fluke chance then text K.K. and have a beer with him ,reminisce old times and see where it goes.
All us fans have strongly accepted Ritchie as a legit Judas Priest member and love Andy stepping in too and also at the same time think about how cool it would be to have Rob,Glenn and Ian getting along with K.K. and him playing with Ritchie with Glenn doing encores when possible.
Dreaming about that "what if chemistry" but regardless of what has or hasn't been said who cares right, the point is that it would be cool if everyone got along again and K.K. came back home.
I think K.K. and Ritchie could sound great together definitely with Glenn and his input ideas. K.K. .... I still love the guys character in the band, had pictures cut out of magazines of Rob,Glenn ,K.K. and Ian all over my bedroom walls when I was a teen (never had Dave Holland's though, never fit in )
So he is still along with Glenn my guitar hero. Ritchie is too,my 3rd guitar hero. But let's hope by a MIRICLE that somehow Glenn,Rob and Ian talk to K.K. out of friendship to get him back to Judas Priest.

Dude, I know right? He even said fans want to hear him play Sinner because he's the originator and how he can play it better than Ritchie etc... how Glenn is too hard to get along with and how he had beers inbetween songs which was a LOW BLOW by K.K.
And how he reads fans comments that say "No K.K.,NO Priest" which out of millions of comments there aren't that many complaining about Firepower now are there K.K.?
Idk but just a guess but I think the band may still be PISSED OFF at him a tad from when he retired right after the Epitaph tour was booked and started to go on sale... left Rob,Glenn Ian and Scott without a second needed guitar player.
Notice K.K. wasn't around,or his comments like this during the Redeemer Of Souls album? Why? Because half the fans were complaining about the production and the mix etc...(although I thought Glenn did a good job)and the album didn't chart nowhere near the top 200 charts .....made him feel like they can't succeed without him.
Now 2018 Firepower comes out with Tom Allom,Andy Sneap with a kick ass production and Rob,Glenn,Ritchie,Ian and Scott ontop of thier game and the songs all of them outstanding, fans an OVERWHELMING amount of fans LOVE IT and it charts #5 the highest charting album ever by Judas Priest.
Plus the tour with Glenn getting so much attention fighting his Parkinson's... I don' think K.K. can handle it,and totally went totally mad?
Idk but after all his comments like this it's highly doubtful that Glenn will let him back in the band. Doesn' take a rocket scientist to figure it out but apparently K.K. has Alzheimer's?

He calls Ritchie his clone basically calls Glenn a drunk and by the way K.K. I've never seen a less than stellar performance from Glenn live or on audio live recordings.
It's like he's bashing everything he can think of to sell his book. I sure as HE'LL do NOT want him in the band after all this horse shit he's said. I think it's disrespectful of the current members flying the flag of the band's legacy,so what if Ian said some shit get over it.
If he truly wanted back in the band why would he be saying so much garbage just to promote a book?

Nothing happens in Judas Priest unless Glenn says so. So if Glenn decides to bring back K.K. he'll do it,if we never see K.K. we can assure Glenn holds no hard feelings but opted not to bring him back on board for only reasons Glenn shares with the rest of the band.

K.K. Downing has been in the news yes,all over Blabbermouth.net making comments to promote his book I'm sure of. But him saying Glenn had a few beers inbetween songs ... this guy is struggling through Parkinson's disease with the Priest track No Surrender and K.K.'s kicking him when he's down, telling Ian to "get a grip" etc.... this is sad to see K.K. so bitter but you know what guys?
Remember the Epitaph your 2011 when tickets were sold shows were booked and then K.K. leaves them high and dry retires.
So they get Ritchie on a MIRICLE and now the band is supposed to drop what thier doing and deal with K.K.? He screwed himself with those negative comments this year.
Now there's no way he'll ever be called back. I don't really think K.K. wanted back in the fucking band I think he "wanted to be asked" and like he even said "he'd of probably have said no".
Let's hope K.K. finds happiness and our Band is fine without him.

Sorry guys, started to post earlier and got rushed. Should have deleted instead of posting but too late for that.
I thought it was a really good show Tuesday. I liked them better than the first two times that I saw this tour. Thought Andy did better and I thought Rob only missed on Turbo Lover. Everything else he did fantastic especially considering his age. A little more mobile this time but it was night 1 after a rest period so that could change. I thought Richie was great. He seemed to stay a little truer to their sound this time around. Still freestylin the solos but he's so good it works. He works the crowd so good too. Always interacting. I got a pick from him. I would post a pic if I could remember how. Ian is still holding up and doing good. I think It's time Andy gets more solo work. It wasn't like the Priest of old but I would give it a 7 or 8 out of 10. With age and the changes I think that's pretty impressive. To each his own though.

Went to the Cinci show. Pretty good. Andy is filling in well. Rob still sounds good. Overall not bad. 8 out 10.

tasnam1! Nice to see you man and like you Vail and guido said Firepower is awsome!
I've listened to every album in it's entirety these last few weeks and from doing so by god damn it anyways .... I did say Firepower was equal to any Classic Priest album there is. Then I said it wasnt. Then I said it was. So for the final time trust me I've made up my mind now,you got to remember I did a lot of partying in the 80's lol
Yeah it's smoking in fire this album is BUT.... no,not equal which isn't a bad thing,it's just too hard to equal Screaming for Vengeance. Without K.K. it may be just too hard to achieve but Firepower is such a great Priest record. I think if Glenn never had Parkinson's and was able to shread solos like he used to,it would of been equal even without K.K. But man it's got to be the band's 6th best album out of 18 studio albums though.
