the board looks great, but the red scroll bars at the side seem out of place.

Hey Murray I did have a question / request.

Would it be possible to create a poll section on this forum? It exists on mygnrforum. It'd be cool to have something here for fun, so that people can vote in their prefered songs or whatever really, so long as it's musically related?

Murray, would it be posible (and not occupy too much of your time) to limit an IP address to 1 account only?  this might help stop people from creating multiple accounts which generaly are used for no good.

New Noticeboard Feature: PM from Friends Only

You can now choose to only receive PMs (Private Messages) from people who are on your friends list.

The default setting for all accounts is to accept PMs from anyone.

If you want to change your account settings so that you only receive PMs from people who are on your friends list,
go to Admin - Edit User Profile and tick the 'Only Accept PMs From Friends' option and Save.

Hopefully this new feature will make this Noticeboard a more enjoyable place for those people who are receiving abusive PMs from people who are not on their friends list.

Regards,
JudasPriest.com WebMaster

Another update on the attack:

After many hours of investigating this virus attack, I have now proven that the judaspriest.com server was in fact not compromised in any way, and was not infected with any virus.

I have been in discussions with the hosting company network engineers, as I suspected that the problem was being caused by something else within their network. I have just heard back from them now where they confirmed that I was correct, another server within their network was infected and performing a quite sophisticated attack (known as Man-in-the-middle ARP spoofing) which was making it appear that judaspriest.com was infected when it was actually just a victim of this other attacking machine (which was inserting a line of rouge javascript at the top of every web page served up by the judaspriest.com webserver and other webservers on the same vlan within their network).

If that last sentence made no sense to you then dont worry, I just wanted to give a technical explanation in case anyone reading this is technical and wanted to know the gory details!

I am now in discussions with them as to what they are going to do to ensure their network isn't susceptible to this kind of attack again before I move the judaspriest.com website from back from the temporary hosting server to its usual hosting server.

As always, when browsing the internet ensure that you are running good, up to date virus software as these kind of attacks are becoming more prevelant.

Update on the server situation:

This site is currently being served from a backup server.
Maintenance is currently being performed on the usual server to ensure any Trojans/Viruses have been removed.

The Noticeboard is now back online.

Google is still marking judaspriest.com as containing malicious code - this is no longer the case and I have sent a request to google to review the status of the site.  If you use Firefox, you may be getting a security warning when trying to access this website, this is due to google flagging this site as containing malicious code - you can now ignore this security warning from Firefox.

I am aware that currently this website has an embedded hidden link to a malware/trojan website.  I am working to resolve this issue now.

As always, please ensure you have a virus scanner running and the definitions up to date.

Hi,  Writing to request that a "useless thread" be closed.  My son, cuda, created the "Harley-Davidson Motorcyle" thread (general discussion parent topic), which duplicates the theme of an already existing "motorcyle" thread.  In sofar as the membership finds threads such as "The Holy Kingdom of Strat", "Kmac the second" and the "Imaginary" threads more meaningful, I hope to eliminate implicit ridicule by the adult membership of my son's oversight.  Thanks.
