100% correct. We embraced our bands, and no other came close. It was fun back then watching all the new bands coming out, trying to be the best. But you know what? Our band has stood the test of time and are still cranking it out!!! Who would have thought? Being the oldest of 5 kids in the family, I guess I always looked as Priest as my big brother!!!

I got it! Back then we weren't knee deep in shit metal. Back then we weren't overflowing with metal music that just wasn't good! Nowadays there's so much out there, breaking metal into different groups. Thrash,hardcore punk, British, groove metal, death metal, speed metal, black metal.
Back then, and i'm guessin' Ron ment late 70's early 80's we only had a handful or more of so called metal bands that where good. Sabbath, Priest, Maiden, Scorpions, etc.(sorry if i left anyone out) So yea, they where the shit. They where the shit when the road was still dirt. They not only paved the way, they took all the negative heat in the begining of this movement... And i loved being part of it...

I will admit that 'back in the day' I think fans of different groups were loyal to their band. My drummer is better than yours, my singer is better than yours, my band is harder than yours. (It was like that when I was a kid.)

Having the original Sabbath lineup on that bill would give it a major boost. IMO, I personally do not see Ozzy getting back with Sabbath unless it's the final show any of them play (goddamn you Sharon Osbourne  ).

That would definitely be the concert tour of the century! However, both bands need to put out killer new material (no, I am not knocking Nostradamus or AMOLAD or AOR). I just think they'll need some fresh, new material that hits it big for that type of a tour to even be considered as a reality.

I'm not a huge Blaze fan, although they did release a few cracking songs during hsi stint in Maiden.
However had Bruce not left, there is no way they would be where they are now. He needed the break,as they were getting stale.
Since the reunion (along with Adrian, who is also a pivotal point in Maiden), their standard of music is amazing.

If you listen to Maiden's Rock In Rio CD (or watch the DVD of it), stuff like The Clansman and The Sign Of The Cross? It literally seems tailor-made for Bruce's voice. And I definitely agree that Maiden NEVER should've hired Blaze Bailey in the first place. Better to have taken a sabbatical instead or hire someone else.

Now the stuff with Blaze Bailey,well the music is good,but his vocals were so far from competent for what they were doing.,I just can`t imagine what Steve Harris was thinking when he hired him?? The stage set up was pretty much the same as that from the world slavery tour which i missed,
so that's that demon put to bed.
The Trooper, Rime Of The Ancient Mariner, Iron Maiden, and Powerslave were all awesome!!!

| Saw Maiden on the 11th. They were fantastic!! Chicago was a bit brutal but we made it off the floor alive. The guys were perfect and are just so professional. My son absolutely loved it too. They are so full of energy. Fear of the Dark is such a great song, it always makes me laugh. |
