ICM: I just saw Metallica last Sat. Night (01/31/09) in NJ. They kicked major ass, best fuckin show Ive seen in 15 years. Better than JP & Maiden this past summer.. Their new album is pretty damn good. The other thing that is very comendable by Tallica is the fact they mix up their old stuff on the setlist every night (something Priest doesnt do either). Finally, they give you a free download of the show you attended as part of the ticket purchase! And Priest gave us what this past summer for the money? Meet & Greet at an outrageous price, Too many bands on the bill (which shortened Priest's set.. No Sinner etc.) and the bullcock & lame NSTRDMS release! If you ask me, Metallica does not suck!

| I think the popular media is always looking for a darling or a pretty boy/girl. Metallica for the most part, since the "Black Album" have been metal's media darlings and pretty boys. It doesn't surprise me they won the grammy for Best Metal Song. I don't think Metallica necessarily sucks, but they have released some generally crappy albums since the "Black Album", and for the most part Hetfield's lost that signature growl in his voice when he does certain songs. Even Whiplash seems a little wimpy now when he sings it. I wonder if he has Rob Trujillo help him sing that like he did with Jason Newsted? |
