Heya Kiamat, good to see you back! Nope, no major announcements. I wish! LOL! [Show/Hide Quoted Message] (Quoting Message by kiamat from Wednesday, April 21, 2010 12:47:38 PM) | | kiamat wrote: | | Aye, I was about to say it wasn't here last I looked!
First off though, I must apologise for my extended absence, I pretty much quit internet in my last week of holiday in order to get an essay done, then I got back to uni to discover I didn't have any... assuming the problem was with the data port in my room (well, everything else in halls has broken at some point) I waited a week for maintainence to tell me the problem was in fact with my computer.. then it took a few more days to find someone who could fix it...
I don't think I've missed any major announcements in the world of Priest, am I right? | | FreakyMetalHead wrote: | | Whats up with the blood? This site is turning into a freak show. ROFL!! I like it. |

Wow, great photos Iceman! That volcano is certainly causing more than it's fair share of problems around the world. There are thousands of travellers stranded here in NZ who can't get home to Europe. The one thing I'll always hold near to my heart about this place is how we support each other through the good times as well as the bad. Sure, as with any family we may not always see eye to eye at times, but when it matters most, you all are there!!
As far as my father goes, anyone who's gone through this knows how tough it is to deal with. The way I'm looking at it is the family has time to properly say good bye, tell him how much we love him, and make however long he has left as comfortable and peaceful as possible for him. The one thing he wanted to do was live long enough to see his great grandson, he now is gonna have that chance...
...Loghan was born at 7:34am today. He's 7lb 4oz, 19 1/2 in., dark curly hair (like me) with deep blue eyes (also like me, for now lol), and the little guy is so peaceful. Just like when my daughter was born, while holding him as he slept I couldn't help but wonder what in the world he was dreaming about?!? One moment he seemed to smile, the next he's puckering his lips, the next he kicks his leg or moves his arm...what the heck is he dreaming about???
Enjoying the moment is what I did today, and it will live with me forever!! Mom is healthy while Dad is exhausted and they're both ready for about 15 hours of uninterupted sleep. Today is a day for me to count my blessings, and to appreciate your kindness...thank you all!! |

Ron, life is too often like this. We get tremendous highs with tremendous lows. I am so happy that he gets to meet his grandson and that he has you all around to keep him comfortable and to spend as much time with him as you can. Tell him you love him as much as you can and speak about everything that is on your mind. I will be praying for your family and especially for your father.
Freeze, you summed up life so perfectly in that last post! Always with the words of wisdom at the right time, how do you get it right time after time? (Seriously.. a sister needs ideas hear to lift sales rates lol) [Show/Hide Quoted Message] (Quoting Message by ron h from Sunday, April 18, 2010 5:31:30 AM) | | ron h wrote: | | Sorry I left so abruptly yesterday Freeze and Guido, this has turned into quite the weekend so far. Had to go visit my Dad yesterday with my brother as he is now in a conv. home. He had a kidney removed just after the new year because of cancer and was supposedly cancer free after that. Two weeks ago he was home watching TV when he felt a sharp pain on his side. A trip to the emergency room and two days of testing later it was discovered that cancer had returned to his lungs, liver and in his bones. He's been in and out of radiation since and is rarely awake and coherant. Tomorrow he starts chemo and that will continue until he can't handle it anymore or it's gone (highly unlikely as it's in his bones now). So being in what I jokingly call a halfway house, he was up and about and we wound up staying the bulk of the day with him.
On the flip side, my daughter is at the hospital about ready to give birth to Loghan, my grandson. I'll be heading over there in the next hour or so.
Freeze, one could not claim a love for the game if they didn't know who Vin Scully was. I did not know he was retiring at the end of the season, he will be greatly missed!! I completely feel your pain, bro. Like you, the voice's of summers gone by bring warmth to my heart and a smile to my face...eternal youth and hope!! Vin Scully is a true living legend!!

I'm so sorry to hear about your dad Ron. I really hope that he responds to the chemo and that he can spend some wonderful moments with his great grandson. We are thinking of you and hoping for the best.
And congratulations to you on becoming a grandpa! Enjoy every moment, they are only little for such a short time. There is just something special about holding a newborn baby. I remember watching my sons for hours and the little expresions they would make and wondering the same thing - what are they dreaming about? This is what life is all about - these wonderful moments.
