Yeah I wondered that too. Wood and McGlinchy should have gotten a chance to start and prove themselves in the Paraguay game. Fallon was ineffective against Slovakia and Italy and didn't make the most of his chances. Also Mcglinchy didn't even get a chance to come on as a sub, he couldn't have been worse than Killen. Herbert really got our attack wrong. Awesome job everywhere else but our strikers only got one goal between them in three games. | | Becks wrote: | | The midfield did do well, but they are aging so it's time for new guys to come through Wood always has an impact of some sort when he comes on, which is great.
LMAO ahhh France. Definitely sounds like something straight from a very bad soap opera. | | jimmyjames wrote: | | Our midfield were pretty good. Of our forwards Woods, Bertos and Smeltz were good, Fallon was shit and Killen was invisible.
Highlight of the World Cup for me so far The French performance. Not the best of starts for them with star player Frank Ribery being investigated by the police for paying for sex with underage prostitutes. The rest of their cup being dominated by infighting, players and coach at loggerheads, refusing to train, dressing room arguments, Anelka being sent home, the French Minister of Sport being dispatched by the President of France to sort the squabbling bitches out, finishing last in their pool, Domenich refusing to shake hands with the South African coach and lastly having their first class flights home down graded to economy by the French Football Association. Brilliant, you couldn't write a better script. | | Becks wrote: | | Yeah, our strikers are slow compared to some of the speedy dudes on other teams. Plus our midfield is old. But I think we're on a good track, hopefully football isn't forgotten now we're out of the tournament. | | jimmyjames wrote: | | Well, NZ finish undefeated yet doesn't go through. It's fair though. You can't expect to go to the next round when you only score two goals in three games, one of which was scored by a defender. Our attack was impotent throughout the tournament. That's something we need to work on. |

Oh, ffs... Yeah, Im rooting for Chile, and Im pissed that the Spanish got two WONDERFULL goals into the Chilean goal... But what makes me root for Chile even more is that they just got a red card, when the ref bought a Spanish simulation. That REALLY kills the game, imo. |
