Couldn't beat that Detroit one just because of the iconic shots of things around the city. Loved it and especially loved the message. That Detroit commercial was very emotional (for me anyway). They did a great job with it. Oh, I also liked the Volkswagon Beetle commercial - I HATE bugs but that little beetle racing through the forest floor made me smile!

I watched most of the commercials today on the computer, and they really were not as good as they have been in years past. A couple of good ones, and the rest just kinda sucked.

My favorite was: Bridgestone,  the guy at the office who thought he had sent an inappropriate email out to everyone on his reply all list, and it showed him going around attacking and ruining everyone's computers! I loved that one, the Doritos one, and the Vader kid. Oh, that Fergie bit was just miserable. I am of the opinion that she can't sing at ALL, much less trying to imitate Axl. As per my earlier question, was it worse than Christina forgetting the words to the Star Spangled Banner? I think so. At least Ms. Aguilera confused everyone by all those vocal runs she was doing. It was hard to follow along as it was, much less catch that she flubbed the fourth line. As someone commented on FREEP online, just lose the celebs and get a damn HS choir to sing the song. We now start with the Declaration of Independence, America the Beautiful and the Anthem. Give me a break. Still, Fergie "singing" while hanging on Slash who is wearing a damn lighted top-hat? Trumps 'em all.

Now the commercials were something else. Lots of cars and movies, eh? I was just thinking...how many products do I actually remember? Ummm...Doritos. I just realized that I even messed up the Detroit commercial in my comment below. It was Chrysler, not Chevy. LOL! Nice commercial and lots of cool factor for me but I just wonder how many new cars they will sell because of it. Ah, gave Eminem some more $ at least.

Oh yeah. I liked the Darth Vader one as well.

They did have some great commercials, though! I liked the Chevy one in Detroit (of course). For funny, I liked a bunch. Not GOOD, by any means but something I can forget which is good enough.

Has anyone else had problems with Judas Priest videos on YouTube? At least in here, most of the videos on the official Judas Priest YouTube channel are blocked (only the teasers/trailers are viewable), and the Judas Priest Vevo channel has "Love Bites" and "Freewheel Burning" blocked, although the other music videos can still be viewed (for now, at least).

Yeah, you are certainly a big guy. Not just in weight but in height. Like you said, though, you really can't compare to those who are so big that they can barely move. Sadly, such people are exceedingly common around here.

Well, it depends on who's speaking, but I'm about 1,9 meters tall (around 6' 3" in American measurements), and currently weigh in about 150kg (330 lbs), so there's still plenty to get rid of. Some doctors could even call me obese, but I personally hate the term as it reminds me of the 300kg tanks who can barely move at all, which I see in the TV documents every once in a while. Years of excessive computer usage have certainly left their mark, let alone the stuff I've put down my mouth. Coming from (one of?) the most overweight nations in the world, I'd be curious to know what someone from Finland considers "overweight." I often go to the store and find all the electric carts are out on the floor because people are so large that they can't walk.

Good luck on that diet. Great goal - fit in a SFV shirt. We can call it the Priest diet and set a new trend. No longer will it be the açai berry.

Nah, couldn't find a better topic for this, and felt that starting a new one wasn't necessary either.

I'm currently in the process of losing some weight so that I can wear the Priest t-shirt I've got when they hit Finland perhaps for the final time in June. The shirt looks like this:


I tried it on me on the 8th Jan, and I certainly didn't like what I saw. So I started a healthier diet, not only because of the shirt but because I didn't feel good about being so overweight. I haven't been on the scale for a couple of days but the last time I checked I had shed almost four kilos - and that's only from the start of this month, so it's good I guess. The shirt already fits much better, although it's still a little tight. Good thing I have time up until June to finish this project, and the current results are certainly promising.

EDIT: just noticed how nicely the two pictures of the shirt line up, although that definitely wasn't my purpose!

Well, I'd say that "Leaders of the Pack" is such a solid name that takes both the "Leaders" and cubscout "Pack" into it that it'll be tough to top.

While "Lead(ers) Break" was the first thing that came to mind (followed by "Leader's Fire"), I'd really think that something that kept the word "Leaders" in it but put it in the opposite position might be the way to go. Haven't come up with anything solid yet but I am leaning towards something that would be like "XX of the Leaders" or "XX Leaders". <==opposite position.

my Heavy Metal cub camp, now named cubfest 2011 is fast aproaching.  we will have 2 leader bands and 3 youth bands.  the kids are Iron Maiden, Metalica, and Judas Priest.  the leaders are suposed to look amatur, so the kids dont feel intimidated by them.  my band will be called "the leaders of the pack" but I dont have a name for the second leader band.  help?"

My grandmother was a ceramic hobbyist. She made loads of ceramic statues, ornaments, plates. She was really good at painting them in fine detail. I could almost tell you her age by how good the details were. The older she got, the more dificult it became to have such a steady hand.

I'm also not running at the last minute this year and I just can't wait till Christmas morning.
I think I got sold on online shopping this year. Only braved the stores a few times, for exactly what I knew I was after. Any faster in and out I would have had to have been armed with a Tazer gun to get the Chatty and browsey folks out of my way. LOL

Time for some Christmas Cheer. My daughter took some closeups of the tree last night. 
Each closeup has an ornament my Grandmother made for me when I was a child. I feel fortunate to have them, and will pass them on to Flora.

I think Guid could have taken down a Barney Fife type, even with injured ribs. I swear I will never understand why mall cop security jobs draw those kind of guys.
We have evening security guys at work. Since I'm almost forced to get to know them, I must say they are all just a "little off". There is one normal guy, and I know this because he doesn't bother me and he doesn't pester everyone all evening looking for conversations. He just does his job. 3 guards, only one normal. The odds just aren't that good at getting normal people in that job.

That or they have the big man syndrome! At the Metal masters in 08 with Guidz, we were just hanging out until the crowd thinned out, then this rather puny guard(probably still lived at home in Mom`s basement) says in his best "macho" voice , Hey Guys, move it! we moved on, only because it was convinient, but man I remember thinking afterwards,  on how I  could have crushed that little worm!
Or I could have just sicked Guidz on him, but that would have been to cruel of a way to get humiliated ! Maybe I should have told Guidz that it was the guard that pushed him!
