Sounds just like the Fear of the Dark tour! Just damn boring. Like you, if I hadn't received free tix, I wouldn't have gone. Funny as that was the exact show that got me up on stage! Needed something to spruce up an otherwise mediocre show, IMO. Make it look like the fans rushed the stage when, in fact, the majority were label (Sony) "insiders." I was to only one to leave the corner of the drum-kit!
Boring song, boring show.
Agree, watch PRIEST to see how it is done!!!

New Judas Priest album in 2017?!? Holy crap!!!

I hope the new LP kicks as much buttox as Redeemer Of Souls. I'm so sick and tired of these "fans" dismissing ROS into the garbage heap...its a fuckin Joke, these same fans love, praise and hail Point Of Entry with songs like "Don't Go...You Say Yes,All The Way,Trouble Shooter,On The Run...which is HALF of the album yet they frown on songs like Dragonaut,Redeemer Of Souls,Halls Of Valhalla,Down In Flames ...Hell And Back,Cold Blooded .. even the A+ song Crossfire which is EASILY as good as the track Killing Machine! I just don't get it.

Dear Webby (at least I'll assume it's The Webmaster writing the news unless he/she says otherwise).
You might need to revise your "#1 on the Billboard" news. At least until Battle Cry actually MAKES it to #1. It's pretty damn close, though.

I am leaning more to your view, Acolyte. While I know that they CAN'T get rid of some of the "classics" without really pissing off some people, I wish they would for some of the die-hards.
WAS nice to see them win over the crowd, though. Also noticed those that were getting into "Turbo Lover" (but also stand my ground that I think that they should have played "Locked In!"
Still, the freakin' Metal Gods prove again and again that they ARE "relevant!" Still cherish every show.

Sorry, was on a roll.
I'll admit that I could also make do without LAM, as well, and just end the set with Painkiller or YGOTC, make is a true "last chance with the 'Priest" (although that'd be kinda sad). Heck, even with LAM, the setlist was a rockin' one. No part-acoustic, part-electric Diamonds and Rust or Angel. Nothing from Nostradamus, either.

Yeah, I'll admit that I'm a bit biased toward Metal Gods. Just love it. It's a glorious piece when played live, IMO, and it's current place as the 2nd song on the setlist is perfect because, as of late, the first song that JP hits us is with is usually a fast-paced one (Hellion/Electric Eye, Rapid Fire, Dragonaut). You get super excited and immediately start headbanging and having a good time; and when the fire/smoke clears (aka the song ends), you get the introduction. Who was it that hit you with a full-on in-your-face Heavy Metal song? Why, the Metal Gods in all their glory!
Also: have you noticed the name of the stage on which the band plays in that vid? You see it a few times over the course of the set, but JP were playing on the "True Metal" stage! Can't get better than that!
And the Wacken crowd? Loved it!!! Now THOSE are some great fans! The kid weeping near the end of YGOTC, the fans bowing down to Rob near the end of Painkiller? Many of them singing along? Shit, that's amazing!!! Yeah, they were slow at first to get into it, but I'd rather have them than the gum-chewer that appears in Rising in the East.

Nice review, Acolyte!!!
On the setlist front, however, I'd say that Metal Gods should remain on the setlist, maybe switch between that and BTL halfway through a tour.
