[HOT ROCKIN' METAL GODDESS] Wednesday, February 06, 2013 11:24:00 AM
We met up with friends at the show and they had been to Ripper's Tap House the night before. They asked him if he was going to the Priest show and he said he wasn't sure. Right then and there I knew that nothing had been planned for Ripper to go onstage. I really think that is a shitty thing to do to him. Without Ripper, there would have been NO Priest for Rob to come back to!! The other thing that pisses me off is when they say stuff like we'll be doing a song from every album or this includes our entire catalog.... Um, no it doesn't. They should say our albums/catalog with Rob, IMO.

Wow, I knew that they didn't let him write anything and I heard they told him how to sing, but I didn't realize it was THAT controlling! Well, once Rob left, Glenn completely took over. Had they let Ripper have some input in how he sang the songs, maybe the vocal lines would have been better. I love Ripper's voice, but there was always something not quite right about how he was singing on those two albums. This explains that for sure - you have to let the singer have some freedom in how they sing.

I wouldn't rip you about you saying that they need Ripper back even though I don't agree with it. Now I see why you said it. I really wonder if this Baxter lawsuit is holding up stuff with Priest as well....

true, but they came off 6 years without working.  once rob rejoined they had worked 5 straight years, so less urgency was felt.

Believe it or not that was exactly what I was hoping for in Cleveland. With Ripper being from Akron I was almost expecting it.
I also thought it was wrong not including any of his stuff on the last tour. After all he had absolutely nothing to do with the musical
direction they took. I got to meet Ripper a couple of times also. Once at a bar in Akron and he actually sat with us at a booth and
had a beer and was answering our questions. He never said anything negative about Priest but he did say that he didn't control
anything not even his singing style. He even joked about how bad he hated one of the jackets they made him wear. It was a
black leather(of course) jacket with mirrors all over it. I think Ripper is one of the most down to earth guys that I have ever met.
I believe he is as genuine as they come. Thanks for not ripping me for suggesting they need him back.

So that was YOU? I saw that, LOL! I had the privilege of finally meeting Ripper after the Dio Disciples show in Detroit at Harpo's. What a hell of a guy he is!! He has very fond memories of Priest and he strikes me as a very genuine man, so I doubt he is hiding anything. I asked him about the "Sold Out" sign on the '98 Meltdown CD and if it was from the show in Kalamazoo. He thought about it for a minute and said he believed it was and then got a HUGE smile on his face and said "That was a hell of a show!" I don't know about you, but I was really hoping that he was going to come out on stage and sing a duet with Rob in Cleveland. One thing that upset me is the fact that none of Ripper's stuff was represented in the Epitaph setlist. I just think that was wrong. Rob said he didn't have a problem singing the Ripper era stuff, so why didn't they at least do 1 song? Gotta say, I would have loved to have heard Rob and Ripper do a duet on Cathedral Spires!!!

[Budred] Tuesday, February 05, 2013 12:53:30 PM
I went to Ripper's facebook page and noticed a pic he posted of his days in Priest. I figured not but I asked him if he posted the pic
because of something going on between him and Priest. I also ask him how he felt about Rob's return and his dismissal from the band.
I was a little surprised to see that he actually responded to me. He said nothing was going on with him and Priest and he said he loved Rob
and had a great time with Priest. I thought it was cool that he answered me and I think it's cool he's still cool with Priest. (alot of cools)(lol)
I thought there might be a little animosity but I guess not unless he hides it. I doubt that though because he has a emblem at the top of his page
that says JP social club.

New Styles and promo CDs every other day...... When the hell is the lawsuit going to be settled???

As for the Halford band, I hope what Eddie Trunk said is true and they will release another album. But for those of you that enjoy the thundering bass that Mike Davis brings to the Halford band, here is a link to the new band he is in. I don't know what this means for Halford, but all the other guys have other projects as well, so it may not mean anything. The band is called Death Dealer and you can preview 3 songs here:

@guido reading further down on one of your posts that is exactly how i fixed me mazda by turning the wheel back and forth until it would "unlock the steering column" i park with my wheels straight now no matter what, use the e brake if i am on a hill and have never had a problem since

@guido, i have had problems with my mazda when i overturn my steering wheel after  i parked , try returning your wheels always to the straight ahead setting and see if that works?

sorry, I missed this.  it will probably have no effect.  the lock is an anti theft system.  take out the key and turn the wheel.  sometimes happens by mistake when you hit it with your knee getting out.

didnt think of that before, but thats easier than any messing with the cylinder.

[guidogodoy] Thursday, January 17, 2013 3:39:09 PM
Hey HB, remember a while back when I asked your advice about my key (ANY, I have three) not turning in my car? Well, happened today on the way to work. Before, it was in a parking lot and I only had the one key. Today, it was at home and I had access to all three. Not a one would turn that damn thing. Last time around you suggested graphite. I had a recall on it so had the Toyota boys do it. Today, out of frustration, I dabbed a little "3-in-One" on a key and tried again to no avail (never bought the graphite...as I said, the Toyota boys did it). Still. Didn't work. Damn thing was locked but good with all three keys. Called up the Toyota boys who are about an hour away from me and, after passing the phone around what seemed to be the entire service dept, I got someone who said to try to shake the wheel and if I have a little "play" to the right or left, crank it. Yup. did the trick. They should write that in the damn manual!

Question is, any problems you can see from my first use of the 3-in-1? I didn't flood it, just a dab on the key, but I know you know your shit. Tell me to put Crisco in there to offset the oil and I'll do it!

Awww, poor Ada.

My mom and I traveled two hours north to my sister's house on Christmas Day. Nice little family gathering. We ate some chili, opened presents and made gingerbread houses that, to our surprise later on, expired in April earlier this year. Thankfully we didn't eat any of the gingerbread.

Which is a shame because Powerpuff Girls was a really good show. I even bought a couple of Gameboy Color games that were based on that show back when I was a youngin'. Actually, whatever happened to Hanna-Barbera? Any idea?

Interesting point about Boomerang. I'll still bet that more people can name all four teenage mutant ninja turtles (plus their master and arch enemy) before they can even name two of three Powerpuff Girls (who were Hanna-Barbera too, as I recall). Forget about asking Joe Shlub on the street the name of the Professor that created them.

Can't remember the last time I even saw TMNT on tv but Powerpuff girls are often on Boomerang. Staying power of the 80's-90's.

Hey, Beckies! This year sure flew by quickly. Hopefully that pesky apocalypse coming up on Friday won't cut it too short.

Hiya, Lord! Nice to see you again!

RIP ex-trusty laptop of Becks. I hope that you either erase or completely smash the harddrive and recycle.

May you new one give you many years of happiness.

Does anyone know where the link to KK Downing interview that was posted last week is? He mentioned two Priest songs done by other artist that he likes and now I'm curious to hear them.
[guidogodoy] Sunday, December 09, 2012 12:46:54 PM
Dude, I am not the King of JP.com (I am the General....heh). Thus, no need to answer or apologize to me. Mention MRH anytime you want. Wasn't that the band I said that I'd even try to digup a bootleg for you so you could see your wife get that guitar pick? I'm just glad that you do recognize that the only time you really mention Priest, it is to trash them. Disrespect to do so on their own website, if you ask me. You KNOW something is wrong when you are on the same side as Bwian. Only true difference is to swap out MRH and his favorite, Maiden.

That said, post anything you so desire. If you recall, what really kicked this off was me saying that I liked the new Van Halen!

I'm not sure that you really care but I did try to find out the meaning of the two X's. I asked on their site
and the response that I got was that in the beginning they all wore different style masks and attire. After a few albums they decided
to have a more universal look. They all started wearing similar attire and masks that bore the XX symbol. To sum it up if I'm understanding
correctly the XX was the ending of one era and the start of another. Now they use the two X's in everything MRH.

@Guido, (and anyone else it bothers) I get your frustration with me mentioning these guys all the time.
I've mentioned Priest on their site but not to the extent that I've mentioned MRH here. I know that people here do not care about them.
I'll try to take that into consideration in future posts. What some should understand though is that I'm only trying to help keep this site going
by posting and contributing. I post about and contribute by discussing what's going on in my life or things that interest me in life. Right now
MRH is the band that interests me the most.

Not an apology or attempt at dialogue.
I know where we stand. I'm OK with it. Peace!

A question for anyone with input. Who is crazier, the person who posts on a blog or the person who tracks you? Is it a simple lack of understanding of how a blog / noticeboard works?

Serious question. [ed note. I'll include YouTube there as well as you can see stalkers left and right. Not knowing Facebook, I won't comment on that but any thoughts are welcome].

That's interesting. Only other guess I can come up with is that their first Christmas show was a secret show. I dunno. They'll probably say something about it during the concert.

Very logical guess but they just did their 19th Halloween show and I think they've been doing those longer.
I'm more of a newer fan (last 4 years) so I'm not sure.

I get that you're kidding but I'm not sure why two x's.
They have an album (compilation of a couple albums) called XX
and their logo is a face similar to Disturbed's logo and the eyes are basically x's
so it's probably a play on that.

Not that I mean to be critical, though. Indeed, you are "special" in your own way! LOL!

Just got my tickets for Mushroomhead's "Nightmare Before XXmas" show in Geneva Ohio.
I chose that over a show a little closer to home because I'm off the next day. The bad thing is
that I bought VIP and it includes admission to the show I was skipping. I bought the VIP just to
get an event T and ended up with tickets to two shows. Now I may go to both just because of the
free admission. Good issue to deal with I guess.

Hey, has anyone else seen that the Halford "Live in London" double cd is out?!

Damn. Baxter and company "thanks me for my patience" and then spams my inbox like crazy!

My sister in law and her boyfriend are kinda in to them, not big fans or anything. Back in the day my father in law owned their stuff on vinyl, and he's a big Priest fan, so he's a metal head from waaaay back lol.
