Still around this evening. It seems if you allow your license to expire in VA, even though you have the old one with you, then your just screwed. Birth Certificate? FFS I provided that with my original license, and SSN (which I had)! According to the website what I needed to bring was proof of residency, which I brought and then all the friggin questions they already know! Pissed me off to no end, now I will go on Vacation tomorrow! It's bad enough I have to drive 30 miles to get to the DMV but sucks even more that I have to drive back again, and then go back. I think James' plan could actually work. I mean if he sent Celine Dion down there to sing the Titanic song it could scare the oil into crawling back into the pipe and hiding underground for eternity.
I know I wanted to.
Is it just me or does every other Hollywood celeb think that they have the answer to fix the oil disaster in the Gulf? James Cameron now? What the hell is he going to do? Send a Terminator to fix it? Perhaps drag the wreck of the Titanic over it?

Ewww to the perves Spa. I remember doing car wash fundraisers when I was in high school. Was always exhausting work washing so many cars lol! [Show/Hide Quoted Message](Quoting Message by spapad from Saturday, June 05, 2010 2:43:04 PM)

God, it's quiet as the cript here. Flora and her friend came back from a fund raiser for the school and have passed out cold, going on three hours. You would think they did actually work, but NO! Car wash fund raisers no longer count on kids doing the washing. Its sick! They stand outside an autowash with signs and get a margin of profit from the wash place, damn nice of them, and they get money in tips! I think this was the first time Flora was exposed to "dirty old men" who just want to flirt with young ladies. Bleah! I was joking with her and told her and her friend if they had just worn high heals, booty shorts, and tight shirts they could have made a killing for the volleyball team! HA!! Of course, I'm glad they didn't as they had enough perves dropping in as it was! LOL

I have to agree with you here Vail. I have often posted pics that have been supplied by other members on the board. And I am thankful that they have shared so I repost when they haven't been up for a while to show apreciation to the band and of the pics that have been supplied over the years. It is never ment to disrespect the person who the picture originated from, I am thankful for all.. Lets just enjoy the band and enjoy each other. Maple and Simon, I like both of you and over the years you have both supplied and shared wonderful pictures with us that I'm sure we are all greatful for. There's nothing wrong with posting better quality versions of previously posted pics. I mean, as long as it shows Judas Priest in action, and it's a good pic, then that's great! If there's a better version of it, then that's great, too. The more, the merrier. There is no money gained when posting pics of Judas Priest on the Noticeboard. It should be about appreciation for the greatest band in the world, not for feeling inferior just because someone always has a better version of what's been posted. I enjoy seeing the JP pics that both Simon and Maple post (or anyone, for that matter). I hope you two settle your differences soon. Edited at: Saturday, June 05, 2010 11:42:44 AM

I have to say that I am very sorry things are the way they are here these days. The regulars know why I am scarce. I really love (MOST of) you and I do miss you. In a rather fair amount of pain today as we had a show last night. I will post a few shots on the "WEB POLICE" thread for Bud's sake very soon. Anyway, if there is any justice in this world, things will improve and we will see old friends chatting again and life will be good.
** On another note, all of us UCLA alumni and the UCLA family in general mourn the loss of the GREATEST college coach in history; John Wooden, who passed away yesterday at age 99. I was never fortunate enough to actually meet the man, although he did speak regularly during my years in school. Looking back, it was rather foolish of me to miss an opportunity to listen to such a great, great man. I saw him once, from a distance. I suppose THAT will count for something in life... Sleep well, "Coach".

Yeah, our group will be tough, NZ have already been written off by many, but I think we will cause problems for those teams. England does have a tradition of getting eliminated early, so you guys could well cause an upset I'm looking forward to the friendly against you guys this weekend, we're getting up early on saturday morning to watch it. Thats a pretty tough group. Slovakia was first in our qualifiyng group. Italy is always a danger, and Paraguay are far from being write offs too. Well, you will have the same advantage that we do, anyway - Italy is usualy a bit to confident for their own good, and that usualy works against them.
Anyway, we have England, Algeria and the United States (tough luck Guido - maybe if youre good boys we will let you have the second place), and I really hope we can beat England, since they have a wonderfull tradition of getting eliminated in the first round.
Yup. Youre playing against us. We will see - I dont know much about your team, but its a match between two teams who qualified for the cup, so no opponent will be easy.

As you say, here's hoping. You will certainly be in my thoughts, Joe. Been in many a country when the politics just went south in a big way. Strangely enough, it is usually around a major event like the WC or the Olympics. Sending good vibes your way that it not only calms down but STAYS calm. Becks & Guido, I will gladly keep you up to date with the WC. Thankfully politically things have sort of been ok. There have been a lot of major striking for higher wages strategically done in a few weeks leading up to the WC but they came to an agreement so that seems to be ok.
I believe there is a more visual presence of police force etc but I think it will be ok. I pray that it will be. The government is calling for everyone to just chill out and 'behave' during the cup. Lets hope they do.
If you haven't done so already, buy the British Steel concert DVD ASAP!!! You won't believe how many Scottie camera shots were made!!!

Ah, KEWL, Joe! Do keep us posted as to any pertinent "inside" info on the games. I am one of a handful of Americans who actually enjoys watching the WC. Alas, like ice hockey, they really don't televise much (if any) of the games here. Sometimes I luck out and can see it on the Spanish channels but it is hit-or-miss.
Speaking of "miss," I noticed and missed ya! Wondering about the political situation, in fact. Things calm down, I hope? Take care of yourself and the family. [Show/Hide Quoted Message](Quoting Message by joedraper from Tuesday, June 01, 2010 9:34:06 AM)

Friday went very well. Another rockin fun night in Vegas. Crazy people and loads of fun. I swear, its like an entirely different breed of human being is out after midnight. The people are SO very different from the "day" crowd! HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!! Hope you all enjoy the day. For those that are lucky enough to have the holiday "off", enjoy it! Light up the barbeque and spend a little time outdoors! I did that last night (steaks and shrimp) and likely will do it when I get home this afternoon!! Now THAT is what summer is really all about, no? Here's a pic from Friday! Enjoy your day, gang!!

Morning to all and a VERY Happy Memorial Day. Spent most of yesterday in my usual style; perched in my recliner and barely able to move. Practice today so I must find a way to muster up the strength I will need to get out the door. Anyway, it is nice and WARM here in the desert and THAT means a little less pain for me. Always a good thing.

Yep, I hate to say this and I swore I never would but here goes (lol) Back in my day, we had discipline. You wouldn't dare speak to a teacher, parent or adult the way some of these ungrateful brats do. I'm still pretty strict on the discipline/respect thing. My children know how far to push and what consequences happen when they go too far. And I don't have to beat it into them. Discipline takes work from both sides and these days some parents just don't give a damn. Shouldn't be breeding because that is just what they are doing. Pumping out kids and then expecting teachers to deal with them but don't you dare discipline my little so and so. Bull shit. We need discipline and responsibility back.
OMG! I feel so old and cranky after spewing that out lol. [Show/Hide Quoted Message](Quoting Message by Becks from Thursday, May 27, 2010 1:12:17 AM)

Zoey was dancing a bit but got tired so we called it a night and came home. I must say that I've just heard the most stunning local version of 'Wish You Were Here' They just had two electric guitars, toned down and vocals.. It was hauntingly beautiful. Highlight of a very cool night musically.
I also survived a 3 hour trip to the fire station with the kids. I volunteered my time to help out with the field trip and I tell you, I have a whole new respect for teachers. I was pooped after 3 hours with help.. how they do it all day for 5 days a week I have no idea! lol

Still no beekeeper but hopefully the storms are keeping them from building up too much honey in that damn wall. I swear, I DID move to "disaster-trailer-landia." Storms, bees, earthquakes. Now all I need is a hippo to break loose from a zoo and head my direction. (Quoting Message by Darth_Painkiller_0870 from Monday, May 24, 2010 7:37:22 PM)

Nope, neither. I live outside the city limits (meaning across the street). No natural gas, no city water (actually thankful for that...not as expensive with a well), have to pay the trash collectors directly. I live about two minutes from the firehouse but still have to pay a "rural" fee to have them come out to try to put out a fire. Not that they could ever do so. Can't make it up my drive and no hydrant.

Speaking of super-happy, congrats on the NHL win. I READ about that online. While I pay a small fortune each month for satellite, see if I can find a channel to offer the games (or even ANNOUNCE the winners) without paying extra. I do have three channels playing "The Nanny," though. So I have that to fall back on.

Appears that the weather will not be cooperating, however. It's so odd that we are this cool in mid-May! We should be well into the 90's at this time of year yet we are expecting mid 70's for the weekend!! Global Warming, indeed!
Anyhoo, bee infestations notwithstanding, I trust you all will have a great weekend. Carry on.

Your philanthropy is inspiring, joe. Its good to try to give back and support whenever and however you can. We are playing a benefit in July. No pay. We are doing it as our way of supporting as well. The feeling of trying to help is payment enough, no?
As I menitioned a couple days ago, TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF! See your doctor regularly. Get the proper exams. Most importantly, DO WHAT YOUR DOCTOR TELLS YOU!! That is something I simply cannot wrap my my around...people that ignore doctor's orders!! Our guitar player and drummer are both like this. They are told about certain health issues and figure they just won't go back to that doctor! ....?????!?!?!!??!? *YEEEESH*
I know it can be difficult to do what you need to do, especially if the problem is not immediate or it is only potential. I ask ALL of you to please, please look after your health. Cherish it. Protect it. Above all, MONITOR it! [Show/Hide Quoted Message](Quoting Message by joedraper from Wednesday, May 19, 2010 10:17:41 AM)

Ron, I do not know you but I can't help but to be saddened by your post.
Words won't help so all I can say is be strong, time heals (somewhat).
Take solace in the fact that you had a relationship with your father. I've
never even seen a picture of mine. I was thinking of him yesterday
strangely enough. I was trying to figure out how old he would be if he's
still alive. He would be 86. Dealing with this is something time can't heal.
You deal with it regularly because you're always wondering. Be glad you
had a father in your life. Take care man. [Show/Hide Quoted Message](Quoting Message by ron h from Tuesday, May 18, 2010 7:53:43 AM)

Good morning my Metal friends!!
I just want to take a moment to let my friends know that my father passed away last night. We brought him home last Friday as he became too weak to endure anymore treatment and his health declined quickly. Fortunately, he was home, medicated and we were with him when his time came. Over the last couple of weeks he got to meet his great-grandkids, he was responsive to this and very happy. I am also greatful that Bev had the opportunity to meet and spend time with him back in March. He had been battling this for 5 years and we're greatful for every minute we had with him. Cancer is a son of a bitch. Dad, I love you!!
