Well, too bad for SA... I was really hoping that they will advance. But I guess that today it was a bit too much. I mean, they would have to win with four goals of difference, considering the result of the other game. Still, no matter what state the French team is in, this is a victory to remember.
Well, I cant wait till tomorrow. The euphoria here is reaching its climax, and if we fail to go to the next round it will probably mean a national disaster. I am so proud of our boys. We may not be going through to the next round but we played one hell of a game!
Stupid french goalie.. catching all our balls lol.
I knew that we weren't strong enough to go all the way but we needed this win today to go out in style so to say..
I am proudly South African today and now we can go back to being the best host country in WC history!
So far all the tourists I've enountered have thoroughly enjoyed being here.
I'm happy tonight and ready to pop the champagne to celebrate the great game played by our guys! Can't call them boys anymore they are men now! | | _strat_ wrote: | | Great, but they need more. It's Ayoba time! Lemme go blast my vuvuzela in support!

Honestly, that is what I (and many) really cannot stand in football. That bad acting. He runs into Kaká's shoulder with his chest and grabs his face sending Kaká out on a red?!? At least with Ice Hockey or American Football, when they are down, they have blood on the field / ice and, or broken bones! Wimps. | | _strat_ wrote: | | Kaka is off the field. Nope, Ivory Coast didnt turn me on with that. Theyre playing with North Korea next, which is just as well. That's true - I think Chris Wood has a great future ahead of him. Would love to see him prove me wrong. I just think the fact that Fallons father is highly respected in NZ footballing circles has given him an advantage when it comes to selection over players who may be more deserving or in Woods case have the potential to go all the way. In saying that Fallon did score the goal that got NZ there so for that alone i guess it's fair that he start.
