Well, too bad for SA... I was really hoping that they will advance. But I guess that today it was a bit too much. I mean, they would have to win with four goals of difference, considering the result of the other game. Still, no matter what state the French team is in, this is a victory to remember.

Well, I cant wait till tomorrow. The euphoria here is reaching its climax, and if we fail to go to the next round it will probably mean a national disaster.

We may have just lost the war but we put up one hell of a fight! lol
I am so proud of our boys. We may not be going through to the next round but we played one hell of a game!
Stupid french goalie.. catching all our balls lol.

I knew that we weren't strong enough to go all the way but we needed this win today to go out in style so to say..
I am proudly South African today and now we can go back to being the best host country in WC history!
So far all the tourists I've enountered have thoroughly enjoyed being here.
I'm happy tonight and ready to pop the champagne to celebrate the great game played by our guys! Can't call them boys anymore they are men now!

Great, but they need more. As it is now, Mexico advances on goal difference. I hope that Urugvay and SA can both score a couple of times more.

[joedraper] Tuesday, June 22, 2010 6:57:20 AM
Players on pitch... National anthems being sung.. Tears being shed and me sweating my socks off in anticipation. I know our boys are not the most qualified at this level but please... pretty fecking please let them at least not bet  bombed out in the opening round... That's all I'm asking for.

It's Ayoba time! Lemme go blast my vuvuzela in support!

Thanks for rooting for our boys Vail xxx

THAT is how a commentator should comment during a football game.

Speaking of game, it's almost time for the following matches:

Mexico vs. Uruguay (Go Mexico!)

South Africa vs. France (Good luck SA!)

Whatever happened to him? He was like the biggest star a few years ago, and now nothing. Doesnt even play for Brazil national team anymore.

Ah, well, Roy Keane is a category for himself anyway...

That's true - I think Chris Wood has a great future ahead of him.

Is that what they call him? That's a crack up. Manchester United fans used to call their former star striker Ruud Van Nistelrooy Horse Head, you can see why.

Since he had already been sent of  Kaka should have gone over and kicked him in the head. If you're gonna get sent off for nailing another player, you might as well absolutely axe the worthless bastard. Like Roy Keane did here.

I know that but I just think Woods is a class player all round and Fallon is overrated. Good in the air but thats about it. Experienced team that they are the Italians nullified him pretty easily. Don't get me wrong though, if Fallons out there I want him to do well. Would love to see him prove me wrong. I just think the fact that Fallons father is highly respected in NZ footballing circles has given him an advantage when it comes to selection over players who may be more deserving or in Woods case have the potential to go all the way. In saying that Fallon did score the goal that got NZ there so for that alone i guess it's fair that he start.
