Oh, you poor sad creature! Never had a tamale? Woe is you.

Come on over. I'll make up a batch. Don't think I could send them. As Vail described, they are usually filled with meat. Bring some of that Marmite stuff with you. HAAA!

Well, they're...as best as I can put it...a tasty dish consisting of meat (or cheese and jalapeños) enveloped by maize (corn) dough cooked in a corn husk. They look like this. They're very good!!

Here's another pic. You can see the bread and the stuffing inside. Oh! And when you eat it, you take off the corn husk and eat the bread and the meat inside.

Whew!! Back from L.A. Home sweet home, in the cold tundra that is Northern California.

Oh yeah!! Also brought back some dozen or so tamales from the family Thanksgiving feast (well, there's ten now since I just ate two). Mmmmmm...tamales.

End of a long day. Went to get my daughter today. Drove half way to Charlotte, and the traffic was awful. On the way back it went from awful, to parking lot. Two hours to cover 48 miles on the interstate, really kinda sucks. Thank god I finally got to an exit I knew a back road around the rest of the mess, or it would have been 3 hours to go 48 miles. Good night everyone, and let's all try to not take Monday so hard. Ok, that's not going to happen. I hate Mondays. Night!

Good morning fellow Headbangers

Am running a little slow this morning after celebrating a close friends 40th birthday last night...talk about the years flying by!!!!

Chicken on pizza???  And I thought taco or Hawiian pizza was gross...ugh!!!  Some things just weren't meant to be!!
[joedraper] Sunday, November 29, 2009 9:35:16 AM
I'm with you on the chicken topic!!! Definitely should be banned from pizza! Unfortunately I'm far to dependant on tabasco on pretty much anything. When I was pregnant with Zakk I used to carry my very own little bottle around in my bag and I'd put it on everything.. I remember having it on cake and dropping a few drops in my coffee.. I'm thankful that that stage is over lol.
I shall return later!

TABASCO????!??!?!?!?!??!!!!!???!?!!???  FIE!!!!!!!! I am a "traditionalist" when it comes to pizza! No "foo foo" crap for this old dog. Sauce, cheese , meat and  a couple veggies (onions and bell pepper). And,  I refuse to eat a pizza with CHICKEN on it!!!! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!  Oh what a world, what a world.....HA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes, the memories you make in these formative years will be those that you speak of around the Christmas tree in twenty years. Make as many as you can, my dear. They are treasures!

OOOHHH I see how that could appear as an oxymoron of some sorts lol.... we got to the biker church... it's cool there. Very excepting and loads of metalheads!!! I can even go wearing my Priest shirt and the only looks or comments I get is 'cool shirt!' lol or 'have you got the new live album yet?' Total acceptance! lol

It's so cool to hear people with older kids telling about what memories both parties shared. I hope that some of these memories stick in my kids minds. They really are growing up way too fast.. It's sort of hitting me now that my son will be five in two months from now... where did the time vanish to?

Maybe next year will be the magic year for your team DF? Lets hope! Never give up hope!!

Pizzas were excellent btw! I did too much tabasco on mine so.. ah the burn is great! lol

Then it's off to church, HELL yeah..???!?!!?!!?!!?!?   HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHAHHAHHAHHAA!! Oh my dear, you are truly an enigma! Ah but you are so true of heart and deed, it is hard not to absolutely love you!!

I recall making pizzas with the kids during my second marriage. Her two youngsters so enjoyed it. In fact, my (former?) daughter from that era told me recently that she remembers that with great fondness! It's funny the things that you remember in life. The little things you do together that form a lasting memory.

Well, another Rivalry day has come and gone and we ended up on the "short end" once again.  Ten losses in the last eleven years...*ouch* Ah but how I remember the early-mid ninties...  I do hope everyone has a GREAT Sunday! Watch a little football and generally relax.

Good afternoon Becks (although you're probably tucked up in bed by now rapidly aproaching monday.)

Sunday has been good so far... very chilled, laid back day. We're just about to make some mini pizzas. The kids love it. They build their own and we cook them for them in the oven. Then it's off to church hell yeah!!! And back to metal lol. I best get my ass in gear and spin all week next week, I was a very lazy cyclist this past week and I felt it on my ride yesterday.
I hope you all have a fantastic Sunday and get plenty of rest for the up comming week!

GOOOOOOOOOOOD Morning all!!!! A very happy "Rivalry Day" to all the college football fans! I am SO excited for the UCLA-USC game!! I know we are in deeeeeeep "doo doo" but this game is like no other on the schedule! Anything can happen. My Bruins are on a winning streak and 'SC is faltering. Ripe for the picking, I think! Anyway, I won't know until 7 this evening. Oy! What a day this is going to be!!

My sincere thanks to all of you that wished me well yesterday. Again, I truly appreciate it. And so begins another day here in Priestville. I hope for the best and I brace for the worst. I have to say, Ron's comments in Free Speak were well written and well taken. I like to think of myself as a rather "smart" guy but I am at a loss as to these fine folks that continue to come here and look to be troublemakers. Just makes no sense. Especially if they are who some say they are. Why degrade yourself that way??  Baffling.

Ah well, there is no poop in MY pudding today so I shant worry myself about it. Nothing I can do anyway. To quote one of the songs we wrote; "Why don't we just enjoy the night...?"   HA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
