My 10 year old saw the Slee Stacks and said, they are so slow why don't they just run away from them??? My favorite parts of the movie were when Rick Marshall got bit by the giant mosquito and he turned completely white and said I'm so sleepy and the thing got HUGE filled with all his blood and of course the part when they ate the narcotic fruit!

Ahh, asteroids, I used to be so good at that game, we had it on our first computer. When I try to play it on free game sites I tend to die within about two seconds.. which just shows how these games ain't what they used to be...
I miss that computer, it had the original Lemmings, the original Sim City, Rogue- anyone remember Rogue? My sister played all the way up to level 37, myth and rumour said there were only 40 levels but sadly at that point the 'puter suffered a somewhat terminal crash and we never found out.
And of course, Frontier:Elite II, my Dad's pride and joy. Cost him £40 back in the late eighties, and do you know it needed three 3 1/2 inch floppies! State of the art stuff, I'm telling ya! [Show/Hide Quoted Message](Quoting Message by guidogodoy from Sunday, August 16, 2009 6:35:16 PM)

HB, I have the original game for PC. I'll try and dig it up later. You need MAME (arcade emulator) to play it. While you are downloading that little prog, also look for your blacklights. Oh, right on, DF. Did you know him? LOL!!! Perhaps you were keen enough to catch my lyrics / watch the vid that he could "teach you to chick chicki boom?"
Partial credit! (Hellrider gets 100 points for being creative. HAA!). Pedro Aguilar was his name and was in many a movie / play as he was claimed by many "including Desi Arnaz and the person who wrote the song" to be the King of the Mambo. The movie / soundtrack "Mambo Kings" actually make reference to him. Oddly enough, though, is that he was from Puerto Rico, not Cuba! I learned this as a kid when we vacationed in San Juan. Also found out that Desi Arnaz's father was one of the founding members of Bacardi on that same trip. No. The folks didn't let me have any damn samples while we toured the plant! One of my favorite drinks today although I rarely have it. Cuba libre! [Show/Hide Quoted Message](Quoting Message by Deep Freeze from Saturday, August 15, 2009 11:57:52 AM)

Hellrider...the same thought crosses my mind often...is there a cure for cancer that is kept under wraps because of it's financial implications? I see cancer everyday because I work in healthcare. Alternative fuels is another matter of what is and what isn't. If there were something CHEAP as an alternative fuel would this wreck the oil industry and therefore kept in secret? In either case you'd hate to think that such ideas would not stand in the way of progress and humanity but when money is involved you cannot think but wonder.
On Farah Fawcett, while I feel for her plight I feel much the same as DF. It's just to morbid for me to bare. The fact that it is presented in the form of entertainment does inspire me to watch either. [Show/Hide Quoted Message](Quoting Message by hellrider 31038 from Friday, May 15, 2009 4:47:58 PM)
