During Geography last year I had to study 1980s deindustialization, our case study was on the British Steel corporation. If that wasn't bad enough, the town we were studying was called Consett.

I spent the whole first lesson waiting for the teacher to talk about 'British Steel in Consett'- I never could explain to anyone what was so funny...

I WALKED INTO MY WEDDING TO THE HELLION.

THE BRIDAL PARTY WALKED IN TO THE INSRTUMENTAL PART OF SOUL STRIPPER BY AC/DC, WEARING BASEBALL HATS AND THE GUYS HAD BASEBALL BATS ON THEIR SHOULDERS. THE ARCH WAS MADE FROM THE BATS AND THE GIRLS FLOWERS.

OUR FIRST DANCE WAS TO "HONESTLY" BY STRYPER.

THE FIRST TWO SONGS AFTER THAT TO LET EVERY ONE KNOW LETS PARTY AND THIS IS NOT YOUR TRADITIONAL WEDDING WAS 'ROTTEN TO THE CORE ' BY OVERKILL THEN 'CAUGHT IN A MOSH' BY ANTHRAX.

WITH THE COST OF WEDDINGS, I WAS GOING TO HAVE A PARTY EVERYONE WAS GOING TO REMEMBER.

I did once smack my head hard enough to leave a lump on the shelf in the shower whilst headbanging to Priest.

As to the list, I never quite got the white bunnies, what is the deep and meaningful significance of them? Oh, and i think KK cheats in the race in Heading out on the Highway, if you look at the start line hes slightly further forwards

I knew I was a Priest fan from the time I grew my hair down past my ass, lived in black jeans and leather, had a compelling urge to start a band and basically lived life to the fullest! I`ve now cut my hair and got a decent job but it`s all good, I still love Priest! Rock Hard, Ride Free Sister!

yeah, i think you are a REAL fanatic of Metal Gods, if you have all the albums from RockaRolla to Nostradamus and all albums of Halford's band, all official live albums on audio and video, all bootlegs you can own of every tour from the beginnings to the last tour, of course going to every Judas Priest gig...only if you can hehe at least on your own country
hmm yeah you have to own all the shirts of every album, more than 1 tattoo of the Metal Gods, belt buckle of British Steel rocks! rare patchs of all albums for your denim jacket, or you can have leather ...or the same clothes Halford have on the tour of 1982, you have to have a heavy metal band that make tribute songs of Judas Priest, it's better if you are the singer and you can sing almost as good as Rob, hmm
You are a REAL fan if you listen to Judas Priest every day, if you go to metal pubs and you want to listen to Judas Priest
The most important think you are a REAL fan of Judas Priest if you know and like and feel all the songs of every album of Judas Priest even you have Judas Priest clothes, rare thinks of them or not, you have to wear JUDAS PRIEST inside your heart, yeah then you are a fanatic of the Metal Gods

Just had another moment....

When you're on your way to a concert and you know the setlist, you carry with you a bunch of printed out papers with lyrics of all the songs you don't know the lyrics to which will be played at the show.

Whenever you hear someone being homophobic you tell them to go fuck themselves, in honour and respect of Rob Halford.

You shave your head bald and grow a goatee (not me personally lol)
[crypticangle] Friday, August 15, 2008 7:04:09 AM

You know you're a Priest fan when you still have your schoolbooks plastered with Rob's face .
You know every word to 99 % of their songs.
You sold your first sweetheart ring to go for a leather jacket (my ex was an asshole anyway )
You know when you threaten your husband with no sex if he messes with your cd's that you have placed in the order of the year they came out.

Sounds familiar. I had a teacher in school who hated me and my "click" (as she called it). The funny part was, she called us the Motely crew, although Im sure she never knew there was a band by the same name with just a bit different spelling.
My art teacher in high school promised to tell me every negative and complementary thing she ever heard about me in the teachers' lounge when I graduated. To my suprise one of the oldest, toughest teachers in my school actually defended me as an excellent student and very intelligent when the math teacher who hated me and my friends called us the motely crew. I could actually justify some of my math teacher's hatred of me considering my locker was directly across from her room and it was lined with Band Logos and Beer labels, and I used profane gestures a few times (well more than a few) in front of her, but I still think her bringing her baby photos in with the baby not cleaned and goop all over it and her legs still up in the air was not something I wanted to see at the age of 16. Kids were the last thing on my mind. LOL.

You might be a Priest fan if you unabashedly pissed off the Christian high school were were attending with a various array of concert T-shirts, buttons, bleach-blonde and feathered mulletish hair style (think Halford circa "Living After Midnight" video) artwork scrawled all over your assignment folders (and more than a few "devil's tuning fork" logos on a few of your turned-in papers) leading most if not all of the faculty to believe that you were truly a denizen of Satan in their holier-than-thou midst.  The year, for reference, is 1985.

You might be a Priest fan if you invited two of your like-minded heathen friends and the three of you sat at weekend chapel services bearing more than a slight resemblance to Mssrs. Tipton, Halford and Downing.

(I'm sure they considered branding me a witch, dunking me or just putting me in the stocks.  Can't believe none of them ever accused me of turning them into a newt.)

You might be a Priest fan is you went to Disney this summer and took your 84 Defenders of the faith tour shirt with you to wear and your 11 year old daughter whole heartedly approved!
You might be a Priest fan if when asked about said 84 tour shirt by a preppy type passer by, you respond by telliing them it is the measure of your intellegence and you just so happen to be in MENSA! LOL!
You might be a Priest fan if you drew a picture of KK in high school, won first place with it on college level, got photographed in the local paper, and  then got non stop obscene phone calls and weird guys showing up at your  work for about a week.
Yep. You just might be a fan then.
[Justin Kenny] Friday, June 20, 2008 11:32:23 AM
Hehe...one time while doing one of my routes, I picked up this one lady who rides our buses often.   When I'm driving, I don't tend to talk to the passengers.   As it is, I have to DRIVE...I have to stay frosty and alert to what's going on (especially in THIS asshole city!!).   I DO greet them...say  "How ya doin'?"   or whatever will work.   Anyhoo...she gets on...pays the fare, and sits in the first section of seats.   She was my only passenger on this particular trip, and after a bit, she comes right out and asks,  "I think you're quite possibly the quiestest bus driver that works here...why don't you ever talk to people?"

My answer...given with a rather sardonic grin as I realized what I was about to say:

"It's no offense to anyone dear...it's just that 'I've often found that silence helps to keep me and my kind alive.'"    She just kinda laughed at that...citing,  "Oh..I hear ya...loose lips sink ships, eh?"

Ya..whatever.   Here's a few more ways:

When you draw the entirety of the  "Screaming For Vengeance"  album cover on your school desk within the last 2-3 days of the school year...and come to find the following day that someone wrote below it...  "....nicely done!"

When you're a guitarist in a band playing a genre of music that isn't heavy metal,  but you emulate the movements of KK Downing and Glenn Tipton anyway.

When sitting idle at a stoplight, your fingers invariably drum (either upon the steering wheel or the dashboard) the opening salvo to  "Painkiller"   or the final drumming exit run in  "Delivering The Goods."

When you were known in high school as  "Mr. Priest."

When you still have a Judas Priest tour shirt dating some 22 years back...

...I'll think of more...not to worry....as for these five, well...they all apply to me.
[spapad] Thursday, June 19, 2008 7:46:39 PM
You might be a Priest fan if you cut your hair in 80 to look just like Glen's and then went home and added the blonde side streak yourself.

You might be a Priest fan if you spray painted leather high tops black and red in the early eighties because you could not find them at any store and needed them to go with your leather outfit, wristbands, D loop belts......etc.

Humm. No wonder so many guys in high school rumored I must be gay even though I dated a guy from another school the entire time. HA!
[Healer] Thursday, June 19, 2008 3:05:24 PM
Yup, that was me, although I didn't personally play in a cover band, my brother started one and they played a lot of Priest covers and I ran their lights so close enough.

You might be a preist fan if in 1979 you had the leather jacket and hat,put em on to go to school and had everyone look at ya like you were from another planet cause you were pretty much the only one who knew preist at that school at that time and kept screeming victim of changes a zillion time a day.

You might be a preist fan if in 81 at the age of 16/17 you were in a cover band and played over 15 songs from them

you maybe a preist fan if in 2008 at the age of 43 you can play all there songs (exept some rolla stuff and the reaper albums ) know all the lyrics by heart ,have all there albums in vinyl and on cd s in new condition

you might be a preist fan if you saw them about a dozen times live ,and plan on doing a 25 hours roud trip to see them this year (unless they add a date for montreal or quebec ).

You might be a Priest fan if you use a considerable amount of time at work looking over the JP notice board, and have loads of internet pictures of Priest downloaded on your work computer, and I need not worry about anyone finding out because most everyone who works here knows less about computers than myself.

This makes my 100 posting, I think I wll celebrate with some beer and another healthy dose of Nostrdamus. LOL

You might be a Priest fan if you play the entire set of remasters on your long vacation drive back to back, (except  that I would have had to drive 45 more minutes to finish all of them.

You might be a Priest fan if you are upset that the idiots who created 20Q the music edition did not have the forsight to program the machine to individually name KK and Glen. You can only get it to name the band and Rob.

You might be a Priest fan if your 43 and order custom Chuck hightops in black and red and have THE PRIEST  sewn down the back of the spine. I plan to have them signed and promptly retire them to a dust free zone.

And about the chefs working with meat, that is really great to sing "grinder." That would make me smile.

How about this one,

You fall asleep while practicing your guitar, and wake up playing the Breaking The Law guitar riff over and over, without realizing it. These are a type of dream you can have. My guitar teacher told me that when he was learning guitar this happened to him all the time. He practiced for hours a day, and would fall asleep, then wake up playing the same riff. weird stuff. I didn't believe it, until it happened to me, with Breaking the Law. It actually is cool, and makes you a better player.

When you lose power in your house and you start singing "When The Night Comes Down" while trying to put the kids to sleep.

Yeah, it shook up some conversations to say the least.  Best part was that I used the Painkiller CD.  I muted the drums, and blasted the searing whine of Glen's SG.  You have to really turn on the "I'm innocent face" and not laugh your ass off though (I failed miserably b/c my idiot brother can't keep a straight face to save his life and he was standing right next to me when I did it).

Oh that is so cool!!!! That is also a great idea, that will really get the party going. Instead of listening to some boring country garbage, let's pop in "Screaming For Vengence." Oh, my grandma will LOVE that! I'm gonna do that next time. My grandma, hates heavy metal.  hehee!!!!

Yea. I one day picked up an old note book of mine from the high school years and read it and it had Priest logos, names of their songs, parts of their lyrics etc... Not only Priest though. There was some Manowar and Iron Maiden there too, heh...

Hmm, how about buying a guitar that is practicaly the same guitar as what KK used to play back in the 70's/early 80's? Ah... no, that only means that I'm stupid  Hehe.

When you slip a Judas Priest CD into your parents' CD changer and blast it during a family gathering at their house.
[KKsguitar] Monday, June 09, 2008 7:35:38 PM
Oh this is a good topic!

Yes, I have said "Judas Priest!", actually, I say it quite regularly.

I've got a couple.

Any time you hear someone say a word that is in a Judas Priest song, you instantly start singing that song.

When your best friend refers to their friend "Kenny" you think of KK.

Your mom, who doesn't listen to metal, thinks that Rob is a nice guy. (which is so true)

You can name situations to add to this list.

Your walls in your room are covered with photos of KK Downing.

Sometimes when you talk, what you say comes out in Judas Priest song lyrics.

Me to my uncle who just bought a new motorcycle: Wow, you went "faster than a bullet" in that thing.
My uncle: Yeah, its a pretty cool thing.
Me: With this new machine, you are "stronger, free, and brave."
My uncle: Yeah, and its a Harley too.
