actually...there are a lot of companies that offer tech support here in costa rica and other central american countries...wether you request tech support in English or spanish they answer the phone...the problem is that many people who work in the English section doesn't speak English as they should...also we have companies in charge of surveys (like datascention) and others like sykes and so on...that's maybe why they usually don't understand what you say...or you can't understand what they try to say...

I was hoping we english speaking people were not the only ones plagued with the bad phone connection and usual uptight service I have come to expect from our indian techie wonders. i will say though if you get an indian female techie she is always more pleasant and fun to talk to.

THAT I can answer 100%. Yes. You do get tech support in Spanish. Funny as you often hear an Indian accent in Spanish! LOL.

Try Swhalihi, though! Good luck!

Which brings up another interesting question. If  you live in a spanish speaking nation and you have a tech issue, when you call and ask for tech support in espanõl, do you get an indian person speaking spanish? Someone please tell me the answer to this!   [Show/Hide Quoted Message] (Quoting Message by guidogodoy from Saturday, February 21, 2009 1:15:04 PM)

(In his best Indian tech-support voice)

Dear sir, I am not understanding what you mean by this "do-dad" terminology. Does this mean your father cannot use the phone?

There should have been a manual that explains everything in plain-japanese. I would refer you to that document as, while I work for Cricket, I do not actually own a cellphone. If it works either way, I would advise you to leave it off.

Is there anything else that I may assist you with today? Ok, please take a few minutes to fill out our automated survey and have a good day!

I have "Cricket" wireless. I have a little doo-dad ( high tech word) that I plug into the side of this thing and I have internet access. The little doo-dad has a switch on it.  I have noticed that, whether I turn on this switch or not, I have internet. So, what the heck is it for???????????
grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr..................

Knowing that (and just about to run out the door to work), WHEN the problem is happening, do a CTRL+ALT+DEL.

Look for anything under Processes that says "not responding." If, by luck, you find something, select it and shut it down.  Try it and report back. Gotta run.

Lawd hab mercy....I tell ya this right now....the ONLY thing I'd ever have to contribute to this thread would be problems, gripes, oversights, questions, curiosities and other tech-tard dilemmas....

....don't expect solutions, answers, possibilities, quick-fixes or anything too useful from THIS kid...

Necro, you still haven't said much about your system itself. What OS?! Windows XP or Vista? You said you cleaned it, ok, if you are sure then a "process" isn't letting go. Hard to advise how to shut down the culprit without knowing even what verson of Windows you run.

As for what type of CD/RW you have, you certainly can tell without taking apart a machine. Assuming Windows XP: RIGHT click on My computer / pull down to Properties / hit the Hardware tab / then Device Manager button. Click the plus sign next to the CD drives and it will give you all the info you need about your drive without taking it apart. Even if it is only a number (as it probably will be if your drive is old). Take that info down exactly as given (dashes and all if included) and google it with quotes. Voila.

Again we googled this - they recommended several options....basically if i want to lose the cd flash i reboot and it goes..otherwise is there permanently....but only if i use the CD drive...and again is ok if open or a disc is in...i HAVE cleaned it...that ain't the problem..

i'll manage i guess.

I have to sleep...is 3.42 Am.....agh.
