I totally agree. A NASCAR on the cover of the album? And yes,those lyrics spank of child-like-3rd grade ideas. Some of the music ("some") is ok like the song structure in the song "Made Of Metal"....the way it starts out....even the way Halford starts singing this track with the lyrics is ok....and then BAM! The chorus kicks in with the poor lyrics and it utterly destroys the song and turns it into kindergarten material with a G-rated disney approach. All the songs on this LP are like this,and it just baffles my fucking brian ......"why"?
I think when Rob did crucible he was trying to be more serious because he was out of Priest,but now with the Winter Songs idea and now the Nascar shit I think he is pulling a fast one on his long time fans,he really is aiming this record towards another audience altogether but he realizes that his long time fans will buy the album unconditionally,well....I didn't buy it and "I'm not buying it". What happened to the "metal" ?
I mean Angel Of Retribution was a heavy metal record and a damn good one at that because 99% of members here say so...the 1% that doesn't is only one member "hellrider" and yes,he is entitled to his opinion,but 99% of fans in this forum love the album besides the last track "Lochness"...and then after that album......where did it all go? Nostradamus....then Winter Songs....then Made Of Metal......all 3 are backed up by fans that claim Priest is just experimenting...oh Rob is just getting things off his chest that he can't do in Priest....blah blah blah....ITS BEEN ALMOST 6 FUCKING YEARS SINCE WE ALL GOT SOME REAL "METAL" GUYS"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Everyone has different tastes, even in the world of JP fans lol. I don't like some of the lyrics on the album, Made of Metal is silly to me, but I like the music on that song lol. Rob is just getting out there with stuff he wouldn't do in Priest, that's all. Boy the album got about 70% of bad reviews on Amazon.com however there are 30% that give the album A+ even the GloriaromanaS.Queen Of Metal who posts in here has the album pretty much at an A+. I agree with the others that bash the LP,its very watered down and the lyrics......"the lyrics" oh man....between the mucis and the lyrics what blows me away is how hellrider or anybody else for that matter can say they like Made Of Metal far better than Angel Of Retribution....I mean the lyrics on AOR 100% totally destroys Made Of Metal let alone the music. I grade Made Of Metal a D minus.

I'm glad your enjoying the new Halford cd hellrider,maybe his next one will be something I like,I'm not holding my breath any time soon but just maybe.....if Angel Of Retribution sounds "dull" to you,then I'd hate to discribe what this new cd sounds like to me ha! Ram It Down is an uder-par album for Priest,but it beats the tar out of "Made Of Metal" lol!
