MONTREAL GOT BACK ON TRACK LAST NIGHT WITH A DOMINATING TEAM EFFORT BEATING THOSE BASTARDLY FLYERS FROM PHILADELPHIA 5-2...
[ron h] Wednesday, December 17, 2008 6:35:11 AM
Well, as a fan of a team that has been miserable for a number of years now, I don't think it's apprpiate for me to brag much about anything...sure, they are improved from years past and there are only 2 teams with fewer losses than them (Bruins and Sharks), but we're not even halfway through the season yet...I do take great satisfaction in that now teams actually have to prepare for them now, they are no longer an automatic win for teams and for that I am very happy about...remember, as a Cubs fan as well, I am guarded with my enthusiasm and am appreciative of  good effort!!!

AND A GOOD AFTERNOON TO YOU...YES I KNOW IT WAS CALLED THE 'HERITAGE CLASSIC' I HAVE THE DVD,QUITE NICELY DONE TOO I MIGHT ADD...BUT THEY CHANGED UP THE TITLE SO THEY COULD MAKE IT LOOK LIKE "HEY WE'RE THE FIRST AT SOMETHING AGAIN"...SO TYPICAL IN THAT SENSE...AS FAR AS YOUR PRICES GO THAT'S A LITTLE SHITTY OF THEM FOR ASKING THOSE KINDS OF PRICES ....AND LET'S FACE IT,THEY WANTED IN ON THIS BECAUSE BUFFALO MADE A TIDY LITTLE SUM OF CASH FROM THIS LAST YEAR...THEY'RE NOT FOOLIN' ANYBODY NORTH OF THE BORDER HERE,AND I'M SURE THEY'RE NOT FOOLIN' YOU EITHER...
THIS TYPE OF EVENT IS PACKAGED AND PUT FORWARD AS A SPECTACLE IN YOUR COUNTRY,
RATHER THAN THE TRUE MEANING,THE HISTORY AND ABSOLUTE LOVE OF IT,AS WE DO UP HERE...I'M TALKING OF YOUR MEDIA OF COURSE...HOPE YOU GET THERE ANYWAY,YOU BEING A BLACKHAWKS FAN,I'M SURE YOU'D ENJOY IT...GOOD LUCK.

Hey there Soy, ther reason the NHL gets away with calling it the 2nd Winter Classic is because the game in '03 was called the Heritage Classic.  Just thought I'd throw that out there.

The tix for the game are $75 for Box seats (considered 'obstructed view' because of the rink wall and glass), $225 for Mezanine (behind the Box seats, then $325 for Upper Deck and Outfield seats.

The problem is you can't order tix for that game under the individual game tix windows.  Those are 'special' tix and you might have to win the Lottery for the chance to get 'em.  Another way is to make it to a home game, get called during an intermission and try to get the closest to a goal from center line with a cutout in front of the goal with just a little rectangle cut out of the bottom.  Seriously!!

LAST YEAR I TOOK THE TV OUT INTO THE YARD. IT WAS ABOUT 30 DEGREES AND SUNNY AT THE BEGINNING OF THE GAME. IT BEGAN TO SNOW DURING THE GAME. ATE MY DINNER OUT THERE, HAD A COUPLE OF CUPS OF COFFEE AND A BEER. ALMOST FELT AS IF I WAS AT THE GAME. I'LL PROBABLY DO THE SAME THIS YEAR.
HOCKEY BABY HOCKEY. HOCKEY, METAL AND A BEER. IT DON'T GET BETTER THAN THAT.

HEY BACK...I THINK YOU SHOULD TRY TO TAKE IN THE GAME....JUST CURIOUS,HOW MUCH ARE THEY CHARGING FOR THE TIX?.....NOT TO BE SELFISH,BUT THE NEXT TWO GAMES BELONG IN MONTREAL AND TORONTO.

Hey there Soy...what can I tell ya, we 'Americans' will steal anything from anyone!!!  But you are absolutely correct about the 'Classic'...I was not able to see that game, but I do remember it!!
As far as going to the game goes, I would have to win the Lottery first.  The News did show how the rink was going to be layed out in the outfield, in short center field...win or lose it is going to be an exciting game to watch...I hope you get to catch it, I'm pretty stoked for it!!
These Blackhawks are at least being competitive, if they could only improve their shoot out game.  They've lost more points in ties than they have in losses...I guess it could be worse!!

Hey Soylentgreen4u, thanks I hope I will see a lot more games... There are lots of Canadians on both teams, and as a true Gretzky/Canada fan that suits me just fine :o) It must have been mindblowing to see the Stanley Cup being won on your hometurf!! WOW

"my" team / Mighty Bulls:
TREVOR KONIG, keeper
RYAN CRANE, defense
CHRIS LEINWEBER, defense
PERRY JOHNSON, defense
MIKE OLIVEIRA, offense
PETER CAMPBELL, offense
CHRISTIAN LARRIVEE, offense
SEAN MCASLAN, offense

other team/ Sonderjydske:
BRIAN GREER, keeper
SAMY NASREDDINE, defense
ANDRE SIGNORETTI, defense
DARYL ANDREWS, defense
DUSTIN VANBALLEGOOIE, defense
ERIC BERTRAND, offense
DAN CEMAN, offense

I took some pictures during the game, but put away my camera a couple of minutes before time, so offcourse I missed the keeper from the other team taking a puck to the face, that would have been an AWESOME shot, dont you think :o) Luckily nothing happend to him, he's one of the keepers from our national team...

GREAT TO HEAR FROM YOU GUYS ALSO. MY ISLANDERS ARE NOT DOING AS WELL AS THE RANGERS OR BLACK HAWKS. I DON'T REALLY FOLLOW BASKETBALL AND FOOTBALL I FOLLOW BUT I'M A FRONT RUNNER. THERE I GREW UP A DOLPHINS FAN WHEN THEY LOST LIKE 4 GAMES IN THREE YEARS. NOW I'LL ROOT FOR BOTH THE JETS AND GIANTS BUT I'M NOT AS PASSIONATE AS I AM ABOUT THE ISLANDERS. I'LL USUALLY WATCH ANY TWO HOCKEY TEAMS BEFORE I'D WATCH A FOOTBALL GAME.

YEAH I ENJOY MY FIRE. I CEMENTED SOME STONES TOGETHER IN THE SHAPE OF A HORSESHOE AND I THROW A FEW LOGS IN THERE.

THE CIGAR SOUNDSGOOD THEORY. I'M NOT A BIG DRINKER BUT I CAN DRINK SOME JD AND BE OK. ONE NIGHT I COULDN'T GET TO SLEEP A FEW YEARS BACK. I POURED SOME JD IN A GLASS AND LIT A CIGAR. SAT OUT BACK AND RELAXED FOR A WHILE. WHEN I TRIED TO STAND UP MY LEGS WERE LIKE WET SPEGHETTI. I GUESS THE CONBINATION OF THE TWO GOT TO ME.

Sounds like the only thing missing from your little camp fire is a nice cigar Scorpion01. How you been? Long time no talk to.

Great to hear from you Scorpion!!!  The mental pic of your fire and a bottle looks pretty cool I must say!!  I'm the kind of guy that never packs his grill away.
I'm really enjoying the Blackhawks this year.  They do seem to lose their fair share of shoot-outs, though.
My Bears don't look like they're gonna make it to the playoffs, guess I'll have to root for old man Favre.  Would that be the sports story of the year or what??!!

THINGS ARE OK. VERY BUSY AS WELL. BEING AN ACCOUNTANT AIN'T TOO MUCH FUN BETWEEN NOW AND THE END OF APRIL. I MAY WIND UP IN FLORIDA FOR A WEEK OR TWO IN JAN OR FEB. THAT WON' T BE TOO BAD.

SOCCER IS OVER SO I'LL GAIN A LITTLE MORE TIME ON THE WEEKENDS. I'LL MISS THE KIDS THOUGH.

MY ISLANDERS ON THE OTHER HAND AREN'T DOING SO WELL. YOUNG AND A FEW INJURIES AREN'T A GOOD COMBINATION. THEY ARE FUN TO WATCH THOUGH.

I'M STILL A LOYAL DIE HARD FAN. I SAT IN THE SNOW SATURDAY NIGHT WITH A FIRE IN THE BACK YARD AND A LITTLE JACK DANIELS WATCHING THE GAME. THEY LOST. BUT IT WAS FUN.

WELCOME BACK
