Their sales are not so awful that, they need to quit. Remember the original band was apart for 12 years, that cost them album sales but not as much as the internet. People would rather Pirate than buy. They hurt the bands they love doing that!
Live albums are known to normally not sell that well and Priest Touch of Evil Live, still pulled down an 88 position opener in this heavily Pop infulenced culture known as USA. It was a testament to the core metal heads that came out and bought that CD.
They will do another CD, and I think we are looking at something BIG!! Hard, fast, Fullout, Metal Onslaught! They can do it and THEY Know They Can! The fire is still burning, even if the roof top is white! They Sounded BETTER!!!!! In all these years! Last Week when I saw them!!!! Sounded BETTER, than they did in 83,84! BETTER!!! Rob, I don't know what he's doing other than he's quit smoking now for over 2 years, but Oh My F*cking God! Fantastic!! In the early days, he was much more energetic, but less concerned about hitting those notes as he probably just thought, I'll do it and what they get is what they get! His voice,.........He's concentrated and fantastic, and Glenn and KK and company have never failed us!! THERE WILL BE ONE MORE!!!  IMO!

I am hoping for it.  I know they have the skill and ability to do it, its the desire that I wonder about.  if the boys dont want it, no hope.  with nost not selling that well I wonder also about the record deal, but I think they could get that done.

Thats the "key" here to thie next album......I'm sure they don't give a fuck about "critics" critisizing Nostradamus...it probably goes in one ear and comes out the other...but I know subconsciencely they hear

critics that are saying the Nostradamus album was slow and soft because maybe Priest are getting "too old".... I'll bet they hear that rather they want to or not and I'll bet they storm back into the studio

and create one hellraising blistering traditional heavy metal album to show the world they still can crush your senses with british steeled heavy metal from England!!!!

ABSOLUTELY!!! Wait, are you trying to say that Dave didn't drum on Ram It Down??? HAHAHAHA. There is NO WAY, in my opinion, that Dave drummed on Hard As Iron, which is one of my favorite tracks - way too fast for him and not his style. I remember reading an interview with him a long time ago and they asked him how much he drummed on Ram It Down and he said, "Very little". I LOVE the way Scott drums, I could watch him for hours.... he's amazing to me.

Along the lines of Studio Albums, I'd love to have "RAM IT DOWN" re-issued with Scott on drums (I believe it'd be a completely better album, myself, I dislike the drum machine . . ) The rest of the album, with Rob - Glenn - KK - Ian, is phenominal, I'd just love to hear what'd it sound like with Scott on drum duty.  Anyone agree with that?

Next Priest album will be one hell of an inferno!!!!
[JT_Small_Deadly_Space] Tuesday, June 23, 2009 7:29:18 AM
Well obviously they wanted to release some stuff from Angel of Retribution live and lets face it they did 2 of the best tracks from the album on Rising in the East so that's why they have went back to it. However i agree most of the stuff they performed this and last year year was way better than in 2005 but they probably didn't record every show and maybe because they were recording a DVD already (Rising in the East), the sound might be far superior to any other recordings they have of those tracks. It is a shame cause i know Halford has done Painkiller way better than on RITE and i hope they decide to change this version (which they won't) but its not the strongest in all honesty is it. Still liking the set list of songs that aren't from RITE, they sound great especially Death.

I just hope that this isnt Rising in the East Repackeged with some songs from 2008. Its makes me wonder why they included stuff from 2005. Their 2008 live stuff is far superior, hmmmmm.
[J.D. DIAMOND] Saturday, June 20, 2009 7:19:16 PM
Yeah I don't know either!  The Painkiller version on the new live Touch Of Evil is the one from Rising In the East ,I've heard at least....

The only thing that is bad about the live Painkiller is Halford's signature Painkiller "scream" in the middle of the song right before the solo....

He sounds like Elmo being gagged and drowned!! LOL! I love Halford anyways man....."Hey Rob"...if you are reading this....I'm just taking the piss!!  LOL!

Sounds good J.D. plus a couple of oldies but goodies, Rob can still sing. I must say he did Painkiller better in 2008. Why didn't they put that on there.

I say leave the "War Of Words" and "Ripper era" out of the picture and Halford solo albums too.....just give us traditional heavy metal like Angel Of Retribution!

[Screamin' Demon] Saturday, June 20, 2009 1:11:08 AM
They should do something along the lines of Painkiller, War Of Words & Angel Of Retribution, maybe slide in a bit of the Ripper era style into it. Give it heavier drums with lots more double bass, searing guitars and that heavy driving rhythm, screaming vocals by Rob and lots of bass too. I remember reading in the Heavy Metal Painkillers book the title of the chapter about Jugulator being Painkiller times two?? Yeah right hahaha. Well, I think all us fans DO want the next album to be Painkiller times two. Songs such as Painkiller, All Guns Blazing, Metal Meltdown, One Shot At Glory, Judas Rising, Hellrider and Death would be good.
[icecreamman] Thursday, June 18, 2009 8:40:39 PM
For Painkiller on the new lve album, it sounds like it NEEDS some touchups. It should be tittled "Elmo Killer " LOL

You are right JD, Unleashed is unbeatable, Halford has admited to some touch ups.... but there was not that many. He had the flu that night I belive....
