Advice for deep freeze & princess :-
No cure for colds -
Rest & sleep is required. Drink fluids, as much as possible, especially water. Keep warm - stay in an even warm
temperature. Give yourselves time to get over it, then nobody is else is likely to catch it from you. Incubation period
for colds, influenza is about 3 days.

Oh no! You've still got it? That sucks big time!
I did a 110km cycle race on Sunday with a stomach bug and it was hell! The only thing I could keep down was coke. I have never drank that much coke in my life before! I stopped at every hydration station and loaded up on a cup lol. The wind was gale force again this year but that bout of gastro was hell! I'll take sun exposure over that anyday! I hope you get better soon Freeze xx
Oh and I still have emotional suffering from the state of the porta potties.. not cool, so not cool lol.
Hey gang!! Quiet here, I see! I am STILL battling this friggin COLD!!!!!! The cough is like a bad penny, you know?? Jeez I am sick of this! And to make matters worse, the Princess has it now and OH LORD is she bad!! Her cough is rattling the walls around here!!! Three days until our next show. Fighting with every medicine known to mankind at this point. Keep your fingers crossed, folks!!!

Looks like you had a good time with your family, Ron. Your Grandson is adorable, hope you spoil him rotten!
And 81F? Thats, about 28.. ish... (I have to think about it- everyone uses celcius over here). Don't think I'll be feeling those kind of temperatures til I head off to Greece in June, but I can't knock the weather over here, after an incredibly long cold winter we are finally seeing some warm sunshine, in fact its all gone a little crazy as all the spring flowers that would normally flower one after the other (snowdrops, crocus, daffs) have suddenly come out all at once. Every park and garden I pass looks amazing, if a little strange.
Thanks Becks, Spa. It was totally crazy, I'm still pretty tired, had about six hours sleep in three days. Totally worth it, mind. [Show/Hide Quoted Message](Quoting Message by ron h from Tuesday, March 16, 2010 7:13:08 AM)

I certainly did have a good (and very long) weekend! Hammerfest was utterly mind-blowing, too many highlights to tell without taking up the whole board- particular ones include Devildriver completely OWNING Friday night even over 5FDP and (in my opinion) Napalm Death, getting to hold Dean Pleasants (Suicidal Tendencies) guitar, Rise to Remain getting a Wall of Death on at midday, Attica Rage covering Fear of the Dark, watching Sabaton at 2 in the morning... oh man I could go on and on...
Getting back to a weekday frame of mind is going to be hard, still its only this week then the easter holidays This year is certainly going fast.

Anyone heard swedish band called "Hellsongs" before? The band has interesting cover versions from many metal massive hits like Breaking the law, Thunderstruck, Paranoid and so on...how do you feel those versions? A joke or something refreshing new...? Of course if you a true believer I suppose there´s only one right answer...

They are pretty pricey Bud, but you can ask Hellrider, I think he bought one, what the quality is like. For instance if they are double stiched and don't shrink and are made with good dies that don't easily fade, then the shirt is worth it. If you like it that much, it might be worth it anyway, a really cool tee like that would cost that much or more at a concert venue. Metal God apparel does have sales from time to time, so keep checking back.

So Freeze, how did your practice go. Good I hope. Your hometown should be getting back
to normal. All the crazies are leaving town. Actually I'm still a little bit of a fan. I used to watch
every race but I'm sick of all the rule changes and can't stand the new points system. I watched

experience. Anyway, tell us how your practice went. Peace!

Good morning Blah dwellers.
Phew! hectic weekend. A good one but busy one. I forfeited an important race so that I could take my kids to a birthday party.. Gotta say, as much as I needed to do the race, the kids party was a blast! I am so unfit for the race in two weeks that I have decided to give up stressing about it and just concentrate on finishing it. Next year I'll be back in top form again (I hope).
Spent some time with my friends son on Saturday and he is holding up pretty well considering. He was having a good time with the younger kids (he's 15). We were laughing and he is so much like his mom it is uncanny, same sense of humor, same full of life personality. We both miss her but we both have to live our lives. It's what she would want for us.
I've got my boy home 'sick' today. Got to school and he decided he had tummy ache so had to come home. Dr appointment in half an hour and if he's faking.. well if he's faking he's pretty good at it so I'll high five him lol.

Good (early) Morning to you all!!! Funny but, I was up late last night and did not think to stop in here and chat. It would appear that you all had quite the lively time! Well, it is NASCAR Day here in Vegas! All the lunatics are in town and the track is a madhouse. I have seen so many characters in stores and around town these last two days! HA!!!!!!!!!!
I believe the Princess is sending her two boys (Prince Ryan and Prince Jaden) to the big race today. I have to drop them off downtown on my way to practice. Apparently, there is some kind of shuttle service that takes these maniacs to and from the track today. *yeesh* Anyhoo, I will be out all day for a marathon band practice as we prepare for our first gig this coming Friday. We will be at it ALL day so I shall not "see" you wonderful people until this evening, provided I am actually able to move and type! HA!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Looking at a good eight hours of rehearsing our show. We want every detail to be right. It truly amazes me how detail-oriented these guys are. Every song, every move, every small detail is rehearsed over and over. Amazing. Too bad the music is so "crappy"....HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!
Sort of a "dream come true" for me to have this particular band. I really enjoyed the other guys but this band is really special. They are SO into what they do and really hard workers. I was told that we will be doing gigs in the surrounding states as well!! Arizona, Utah and California are in our very near future!! Now THAT will be interesting. Fifty years old and "Living the Life"..... HA!!!!!!!!!!!!! I will, of course, keep you all updated. Who knows? We may be coming to a site near YOU!!!!!!!!!!!

Vail, I just watched the South Park episode where they find the guy frozen in ice all of 32 months! Funny as hell. Remember THAT? If so, Cartman makes a reference to this movie when Stan and Kyle are digging up the "Ice man" (Steve!). He lowers the rope and starts talking about Sandra Dee. It is Olivia Newton-John from this movie.
Ah, how sad not to be able to catch these cultural references....LOL!!!

Nope. Only seen parts of it. Sorry. The opening credits are cool, though.
That aside, marbles WAS a cruel game, eh? Get one of those monster cat's eye shooters to take out a handful of your opponent's favorites. Cutthroat, I tells ya! Like racing for pink slips (please refer to the movie "Grease" for reference Vail). LOL!!! PLEASE tell me you have seen it! Grease is the WORD!

Nah, I wouldn't be so cruel. In a nutshell, sweeping can change both the speed and "curl" of the stone. Look at a shot after an opponent "takes out" a rock. A sweeper often will start sweeping the other's rock to get them out of the "house" or target.Speeds it up, iow.
As for strategy, you'll often see what I am watching now: throwing "guards" that will be in front of the target / house. They can try to "curl" around them or hit them head-on to take them out. When I refer to the yelling, it is usually the person / "skip" who threw the rock and is watching the line or trajectory of the shot rock and is shouting at the sweepers to do one thing or another. Sweep with more pressure, less, not at all, etc.
So, when are we going to play?

10 "ends" (like bowling). The sweepers can get the rock to speed up, slow down or "curl" one direction or another. I prefer watching the women. They scream more! Even better was in the past when they actually used brooms instead of these new swiffers. Wonder if they clean floors too?
