did you have your home licence also.  so many people think the international licence is good to use, but its just a translation of your home licence, and doesnt authorize you to drive unless the other licence is with you too.  that licence causes great arguments at car rental counters.

Yes Orlando , Florida.

It was a fun vacation, we visited 7 amusmentparks in 10 days.

We went in April and the temperature was 28 to 32°C , we are used to 25°C in midsummer so it was hot for us.
We went swimming in the cold pool and the bartender was freezing his ass off, he declared us crazy  LOL

I really enjoyed it and it was the first time my husband had been to those sites. Grow up around it and you don't appriciate it. He dodged all the field trips etc...
We could see from the roof of his home in Kassariniani the acropolis in the sunset so it takes time to appriciate what you see everyday.
There is one spot, which now I'm told has steps built to it, but it's right outside of the accropoli area and the stairs are carved straight into the marble rock.
I call it the "stairs of the ancient ass bust", because they are worn so slick you will fall, if your not carefull! I went down behind a portly German woman and we all slide down the stairs on our butts. She was laughing and said, I will wait till the skinny boy is out of my way so I  dont crush him if I fall!

Orlando? As in Orlando Florida? When I was 16 I had a guy who thought I was cute buying me drinks! LOL Played pool, all kinds of games all on his dollars. What the heck, it was entertainment for the evening. I would never allow Flora as much freedom as I had! LOL

I had the opposite when I went to Orlando.

I had my international driving-licence and still I wasn't alowed to drive the rental car , I was " underaged" tssss I was 21 at the time.
I was lucky to get a drink at the pool-bar of the hotel without having to call my (ex-) husband then for "parental" approval.

Then you should have been in Tuscany when we were there. High school field trip, and delighted that Italian law permits people above 16 to buy alcohol, as opposed to 18 here. We just went wild, and didnt care who thought we were a pain in the ass.

Hopefully, in a not-too-distant future I will go there.

I was there for five weeks, and saw Greece with my (then) husband. Saw about all of it the mainland you'd ever want to see, plus spent time in some of the villages in the bay type area between the pellopones and the mainland. Went to the Accropolis, Delphi, Olympia, A theater over on the pellapones I don't remember the name of. Had a great time. Never been in water so sallinic that you really don't need to know how to swim, you just sort of float.
Flora still goes each year to see her family there. I hope to go back someday to visit them. I may be divorced but I didn't divoce my family there. To my neices and nephew I am still Thea Susan.

Lol... Yup, tourists are a pain in the ass... I hate to see them around here. Then again, I love going somewhere as a tourist, so I guess it equals out.

Greece... I would LOVE to go there once. Nice mediteranean land, with so many sights... Where in Greece were you? Athens? Did you see the Acropolis?

Yeah, thats true. Mind you, I did smuggle a camera inside, but I didnt dare to use it. There were just too many guides in there. Pity. The Cathedral in Florence was a wonderfull sight.

You cant take pictures of ancient art work because the preservationists feel it will speed the fading of the pigments in the paint. I can see their point, but it doesn't help when your standing there looking at something so beautiful and not allowed to take home your own memory in a snapshot. Thank god, camera's have come a long way and can take decent low light pictures.
