Ahhh my sister was telling me this morning (she lives in London) that parts of the UK have been colder than Moscow, and that this is the coldest winter the UK has had in 30 years. I hope you and your family are staying warm and safe!

(It always seems strange when I read something like this; it still being thursday evening here).

The last few days/weeks leading up to a big gig are always the most exciting, I hope the anticipation never exceeds the result- though it's AC/DC so I bet you'll have a great time Becks.

Our cat is quite vocally disgusted about the weather- I can't blame her, especially after a weather station 10 minutes down the road apparently recorded -18C (?!) last night making us slightly colder than Moscow. Currently I am watching the frost form on the inside of the window pane. Hope others out there are enjoying better weather!

Those kitty booties look hilarious!  The cat doesn't look too impressed though.  I got an email photo of an extremely angry and wet looking cat, and the caption says something like "This cat is gonna f*ck somebody up".  I believed it!

Hi Becks! Welcome back did you have a nice time in Wellington? I've got a throat infection that is hurting like hell! Swollen epiglotus so it feels like I've got an inflated boxing bag in the back of my mouth. I hope the meds kick in soon because this is no fun at all!

Steve! Sorry I missed you in chat I'm not firing on all cylinders thanks to this infection.

I don't think anything is getting back to normal over here, we've just seen our biggest snowfall yet, the whole of England has ground to a halt- my old school has closed for two days!- (never happened while I was there) and we have spent the day building an igloo- so a great start to our week but not to a lot of other people's!

Hiya everyone! We just got home from Wellington, our capital city a 2 hour drive away, we went to the national museum and saw an exhibit on Pompeii - it was very very good! I'm glad it's a new week, everything is getting back to normal after the holiday season. I hope everyone has had a great start to their week!
[guardian angel] Monday, January 04, 2010 5:39:36 PM
Happy metal new year to you all!  It's nice to see people are sounding generally happy.  That's cool!  As for those complaining about the weather, I would really like to feel bad for you, but here at home in the Great White North, it has warmed up to 3.2'F.  Warmed up.  That's right.  It was frightfully frigid between Christmas and New Year, around the -18'F range, without the windchill.  BRRRRRRRRR!!!  I feel cold just talking about it, and I'm sitting here in long underwear.   And I doubt I would survive without my block heater and interior car warmer.  It cuts the chill in the van a bit, and keeps my Priest CDs working.
[Deep Freeze] Monday, January 04, 2010 7:50:29 AM
Good Morning, all! So, it would appear that we all made it through yet another year! Great to see you all here on the "other side". So, once again we find ourselves attempting to "get back in the swing", as it were. I read Ron's comments with great amusement. Ron, my friend, I do "get" what you are saying. I recall with fondness those days! I know it would seem odd but I do remember returning to the "grind" and getting back to work. How I miss it.

I have a good feeling about this year. I cannot say why exactly. Just a feeling. It's going to be hard to top the amazing year I had in '09 but I suppose we'll see. More good times and great music ahead! Let's get this party started.
[Head banger] Monday, January 04, 2010 7:24:08 AM
the headlight thing sounds bogus to me.  something to gently warm the battery would help but.... unless you buy an electric wrap for it and remember/find locations to plug it in....  dunno.  my last car I bought used, replaced the battery after 4 years.  maybe I was just lucky.  11 miles should be enough to recharge it fully, I would think.

I'm sure I'm in the minority, but I am glad it's Monday and am even happier to be going back to work after 11 days off!!!  No, I'm not ill (lol), just ready to get back into the groove of things and am looking forward to happier times ahead!!  Have a great week everyone!!

5 degrees? That's cold!! Make sure you stay warm Spa. Although yes, it can hurt the power bill a bit. Ah well, it's best to be warm in winter, nothing worse than freezing.

Drive about 11 miles to work each day. I was surprised the battery did make it through the night and it's going to get even colder tonight. But so far it's just slow. Is it true if you turn your headlights on for 30 seconds before cold cranking a car it will activate the battery and give you a better start on extremely cold days? I'm really shocked by this battery as most cars I've owned I've had to replace the battery in 2 1/2 o to 3 years. Go Honda!!! lol

HRMG, if I didn't have a heater underneath my desk I would freeze to death! As I did the first two years I worked there and was always sick. Since my little heater, it's odd for me to be sick. I know all about the transparency of scrubs, as that is what I wear to. Not only are they drafty, they make you look like a balloon not mater what brand you buy! LOL

(Well,..... if I carried one ot those damn contraptions!)
I can fast see tomorrow with the whine and click of a battery that has been defeated by the cold. I'll keep my fingers crossed it does not happen, but who am I kidding. Almost 3 years on a factory battery!!! HB!!! You know it's going to die!!! lol  Sleep well everyone, and think murderous thougthts fo Guid on his Sunny island!!! Hiya, PK!! Tonight it'll be all about eating buñuelos (yummy!), watching the countdown on TV with my mom and lighting up a bunch of candles.

It's been a good but challenging year and an equally challenging decade. The Priest is back and here's hoping they'll greet the new decade with a butt-kicking new album and a great concert DVD. It can only get better from here, right, ladies and gents? Happy New Years Eve (and Happy New Year to those who already saw it arrive).

Guido. See ya later and have fun on your trip!!

So, thank you to all my friends for a wonderful past year and I wish you all the happiness for the year to come. Be safe. See you in 10 days. /Guids

Hello everyone. Hope everyone has had a great year overall and hope everyone has a great New Years. But before I get into that I must get this out of the way. Arizona just was flat and dazed by Nebraska and we just didn't show up. But there is next year and we can and will do better.

Now then. What is everyone doing for New Years? I am probably just going to be hanging out with a few friends playing video games till the countdown, then get back to playing and celebrating the New Year.

[Deep Freeze] Thursday, December 31, 2009 8:09:59 AM
Well now, here we are again! Another year has past and we remain a huge, loving family. I cannot think of anything better! For this, I am grateful.

Throughout all the years we have seen so much. So much. I am sometimes just so amazed at how this site has morphed, evolved and grown. We have lost some. We have gained some. And through it all, there has been that unending, tangible, real family. For this, I am grateful. As much as we have changed, we have still remained the same. The caring, devoted fans that make up the core of this site remain some of my dearest, most precious friends and for this, I am grateful. We have been lucky enough to have many opportunities to spend some time with the mighty Priest in various parts of the world and for this, I am grateful.  Some of us have spent time getting to know one another in a more personal way. Sharing our history and building our future and for this, I am grateful.

It has been a wonderful year despite our woes. And, lest we forget, life will always have obstacles. Trouble lurks. We deal. We survive. Please never forget that, no matter how difficult things may seem, we are here. We are together. We are one. We have each other and we have music. The tie that binds. That which brought us together and that which has held us fast can never be taken from us. We ARE one and for this, I am MOST grateful.

A VERY Happy New Year to you all. I sincerely love you.
Mike

I prefer simple celebrations now, and I don't know why. It just seems to be a new thing now, since for the past couple of years these get togethers with the family are getting smaller and simpler. Even Thanksgiving was small with only some of my step family and some family friends. Could just be the times but that doesn't bother me.

Hi Blah dwellers!..

I kind of missed the whole Christmas vibe here because I was sooo distracted by the fantastic time we were having at home.. But better late than never so, Merry Christmas everyone! I've made some amazing friends here that I treasure deeply and have been educated, informed, shocked and amused so many times thanks to this diverse board and its valued posters!

I'm busy winding a transformer for an amp I'm making so that is taking up a wee bit of my time. So far it seems to be going ok.. Two more transformers to wind and then I start putting the rest together. I am so keen to see how it will turn out. I've been wanting to do this for years and now Craig finally has the time to help me get it done (he's like a master tube amp builder and I got sick of just watching and listening to the finished product ha ha ha).

And er Brandon, LEARN TO SPELL!
Really! Enough already, your post are difficult to read and I think you can spell, you just get a kick out of not trying. If you really have a problem then please get help. You will benifit from it in the long run. At this moment in time, I just skip over most of your posts because it's just not worth my brain power trying to decode what on earth you are trying to say. Surely I'm not the only one thinking this?
[guidogodoy] Sunday, December 27, 2009 9:52:25 PM
I also agree. It it just too much to believe that someone can spell so poorly. "Mi vs. my"? "Theire?" No. Sorry. Don't buy it either unless he is in the second grade or a non-native speaker.

Glad you like IE but just curious.

I don't have a real tree this year, that was last year as we alternate.  I usually leave the decorations up 'til New Years is over as it's depressing taking them down.  Btw, when's the next meaningful holiday??

Broke in the new waffle iron and hot chocolate maker...deliscious with strawberries and whipped cream!!!  Just finished eating grilled bacon cheeseburgers!!

Great to see Strat making a visit back to us...best of luck in school!!

I went back to IE because Firefox wouldn't allow me to use some apps, and I have absolutely NO problems here at JP.com!!!

I'm very happy to see we've all made it through Christmas...off this coming up week and I really am at a loss on how to fill up some of my time...any suggestions??

Also...NO New Years resoloutions for me this year!!!!!!!!

Don't worry, Spa. It'll all end eventually.

Unfortunately, the US doesn't have the best of education systems, but come on. I went to a public school in one of the poorest areas in Los Angeles county! I didn't have the best education either, but it was up to me to make an effort to spell better, write better essays, etc. Plus, there are alot of users here who don't have English as a first language, and the majority of them spell just as well as most of the native English speakers/writers here. Ultimately, you are in charge of your own education, and eventually your life. A boss looking for a good employee won't accept someone who can't spell 'the' properly.

Look, it's okay if you can't spell properly right now. No harm, no foul. But at least take the time you have here to improve the way you write/communicate. Remember, even if you're done with school, you never really stop learning.

Brandon, while the human brain can interpret what you type because you have the right letters in all the wrong places, May I be so bold as to suggest Mavis Beacon typing so you actually make sense! Nine bucks, and you can be on the road to typing in a way people don't have to strain to read what you type.  Just a suggestion, for I have never seen anyone type so bad, and yes it is so bad it looks contrived. If you don't know what that means, look it up.

No, it isn't the site, it is your computer. Specifically, the little java applet running to the right of the bar. As the name suggests, it is a basic "runtime error." VERY common.

My fix? Stop using IE as you should have done so years ago. Firefox has always been the choice of nerds and is also free. IE is a dinosaur, bloatware and runs slower then hell. Use Firefox. Free, faster, more secure and able to customize 1000x more than IE. Download, install, import your bookmarks and, voilá, problem solved.

Lemme know.

FOUL!!!! You can't "rickroll" someone with a vid of Rick!

My last comment on this one. Gotta dress up my gay dogs and take them out for a drag before it gets too cold and dark! LOL!!!
Good to see you, compadre.

I'm with Kiamat on this one! The tree stands till New Years!  Hope everyone has enjoyed their extended weekend!

Happy Sunday, Deep Freezer!!

I'll have to deconstruct the artificial the tree as well. The poinsettias will stay around until New Years, or until they wither.

Hey everyone!

You're taking the decorations down already? Ours will likely be up until the new years party (It took that long to put them up in the first place!) but then we did end up having christmas day, then 'less stressful and annoying-relatives-less' Christmas on Boxing day. Hope everyone has had a good christmas and a relaxing holiday season.

Howdy do, gang. Happy Sunday to all. All is quiet here, as usual. The Princess will be deconstructing the tree today as we bid a final "farewell" to Christmas. The decorations are gone and the living room is returning to normal. A wonderful holiday this year. Hope you all shared in that sentiment. Now we focus on New Year's Eve. One last hurdle and then we are through to a fresh beginning!

Ah yes! A very, very Happy Day-After to one and all! Boxing Day for our northern brethren, I believe? All quiet here, just as we like it. The Princess and I attended Christmas dinner at her brother's house (Prince Russel) and , as we departed, we both proclaimed aloud, "It is FINALLY over!!!!"  HA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Came home, lit the fire and had one last round with our tree as we watched "The Rocker" on HBO (not worth your time, by the way).

We have officially closed the book on Christmas 2009. We plan to have a full-on turkey dinner this Thursday for New Year's Eve and that will be that for the holiday season.  It is almost a kind of relief, isn't it? Some very memorable moments. We got the Princess's boy a guitar , as he has expressed great interest in learning to play. As with most young lad's his age, we are concerned that this may only be a phase but we will have a teacher come to the house for the next few weeks and see how he does. I fear he sees only the glory and none of the work, which he will soon know all too well! Should  he decide this is his calling, we may have a brand new "headbanger" among us!!! HA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A truly wonderful Christmas it was this year. We enjoyed it very much. I have come to appreciate this particular holiday in a way I never could when I was still working. I means so much more to me now. More meaning, less materialistc I believe. As it should be.  Oh , and one last very important "shout out"...to my dear, dear friend Guido! Your gift is most appreciated and you were all too correct. It is very comforting, from time to time. All that you said it would be. Thank you, my friend.

Bev...Merry Christmas XOX

Good morning / day and a very Merry Christmas to Judas Priest and Murray and all the others we don't know that contribute to bring Priest music to our homes and this site to our desk / lap tops!!!!!

And a very SPECIAL Merry Christmas to ALL the wonderful friends that I have made during my time here at the Board!!  There was a time I could actually name the friends that I have here, but would be too difficult to do now (which is a wonderful thing!!).  Have a SAFE and WONDERFUL day friends, you are all in my thoughts today!!!

I wish all my fellow metalheads a VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS!! May you all stay safe in your travels and enjoy the day with family and friends.

Thought I'd take a moment, having listened to the new offerings by 'Freeze & his project, and by 'Meltdown & his project:  Gotta tell ya gentlemen, both are distinctly different styles as are the folks composing & playing.  'Meltdown ... you have a way of bringing an Axe to life. Combined with Rick's vox expression, and the rest, it sounds fantastic!  'Freeze, You have a unique quality in interpretation. I enjoy the contrasting combination of styles about your project!  So much creative talent in the membership here ...
