It is a complete fallacy that Americans aren't into the World Cup (or football in general). We all play and there are far too many hispanics here to believe it. Just not a great commercial success due to lack of airtime, promotion, etc.

So far it has gone pretty well and I hope that it does continue to go well. Yep, only the one report of the hotel burglary and the drunk Australian who passed out and woke up sanse wallet or cell phone but later on someone contaced him to let them know that they found his phone.
Yes, we are in a bad way but a shitload of insfrastsructure was upgraded and all the stadiums were freshly built up for the event so I do think that right now FIFA sort of own the country but the feeling in the air is very festivy and everyone seems to be getting along. I hope it lasts.
JJ bare in mind that the media will broadcast the worst about SA that they can. I'm not saying that it isn't bad but so far the WC seems to be running smoothley. There were a shitload of striking done before the WC but it seems to have been taken care of.
