You know when they retire from the road for good,hell they "may" even record an EP (4 or 5 tracks) and keep Judas Priest alive in the studio for a few more years....who knows. But Ritchie is such a fit,its uncanny.
Having him resemble K.K. with the sleeveless vest and flying V image is a $ money marketing sham done by Jayne the same way Kiss has Singer and Thayer in Criss and Frehley's make up....its not Ritchie himself I'm sure....but sound-wise he isn't a K.K. clone and it works so well.

5 years already wow....Ritchie Faulkner is the BEST thing that has ever happened to Judas Priest. He is better for Priest than K.K. would be right now....K.K. Should of retired in 2009 but I'm glad he didn't because we may not have got Ritchie....K.K. Used to be great for Judas Priest yesteryear....Ritchie is the spirit that keeps this band alive...K.K.'s spirit towards the end was killing it.
2 things are for sure....1. Tom Brady has 4 Super Bowl Rings(smiles!) and the cyber bafoons will NEVER get a K.K. reunion tour HA! NOPE....they are in the studio right now WITHOUT K.K. Downing making an album without him again,and they will tour once again without him.

@acolytee55....I'm a fan of the some of the "OLD" black metal and some of the "OLD" death metal bands : 80's and early to mid 90's.....after the year 2000 hit it all went to shit. It just wasn't designed to have THAT many bands within the scene as it is today....the IMAGE and AESTHETICS of metal went to shit along with it. Back in the day there wasn't loads of death metal and black metal bands...sure a few like Florida for death metal and Norway for black....and a few elite scattered bands that were WORTHY.... When you saw a photo of DEICIDE you had them decked out in spikes and leather with Benton vocalist\bass with long hair ,leather spikes and a branded upsidedown cross on his for head...that along with the "scene" being "underground and hidden" made these bands elite with their song writing to top it off.....
Now....you can look like a tennis player and just get on stage grab a mic and sound like that idiot from Six Feet Under gargling razor blade sound singing Priest's Invader.....its a fuckin JOKE!!
While I'll always hail the old bands(Dark Funeral's new album Where Shadows Forever Reign is excellent)....I'll spit on the NU genre of trendy crap.

Sounds just like the Fear of the Dark tour! Just damn boring. Like you, if I hadn't received free tix, I wouldn't have gone. Funny as that was the exact show that got me up on stage! Needed something to spruce up an otherwise mediocre show, IMO. Make it look like the fans rushed the stage when, in fact, the majority were label (Sony) "insiders." I was to only one to leave the corner of the drum-kit!

I'll admit that I could also make do without LAM, as well, and just end the set with Painkiller or YGOTC, make is a true "last chance with the 'Priest" (although that'd be kinda sad). Heck, even with LAM, the setlist was a rockin' one. No part-acoustic, part-electric Diamonds and Rust or Angel. Nothing from Nostradamus, either.

Yeah, I'll admit that I'm a bit biased toward Metal Gods. Just love it. It's a glorious piece when played live, IMO, and it's current place as the 2nd song on the setlist is perfect because, as of late, the first song that JP hits us is with is usually a fast-paced one (Hellion/Electric Eye, Rapid Fire, Dragonaut). You get super excited and immediately start headbanging and having a good time; and when the fire/smoke clears (aka the song ends), you get the introduction. Who was it that hit you with a full-on in-your-face Heavy Metal song? Why, the Metal Gods in all their glory!
Also: have you noticed the name of the stage on which the band plays in that vid? You see it a few times over the course of the set, but JP were playing on the "True Metal" stage! Can't get better than that!
And the Wacken crowd? Loved it!!! Now THOSE are some great fans! The kid weeping near the end of YGOTC, the fans bowing down to Rob near the end of Painkiller? Many of them singing along? Shit, that's amazing!!! Yeah, they were slow at first to get into it, but I'd rather have them than the gum-chewer that appears in Rising in the East.

Well the Battle cry blu-ray is spectacular, the sound and light show are insane!! Still would like to see 1 still cam shot as an option to watch , but way less jumpy than other shows, great solo in you got another thing coming, would still like to see a lot less of BS represented and more SWOD ,SC.KM, POE anything but metal gods, living after midnite and breaking the law, just heard them enough!

Agree. I had no reason to think that there was any sort of combo. Yeah, I could have bought the Blu-ray, ripped the audio and segmented up the songs and burned them to CD (phew) but just easier to buy the CD and make the usual copies for my car and daily play + Blu-ray that I'll likely convert to DVD to keep the file small and be able to play on my other machines / backup on HD.

Saw Slayer for the first time Monday. New venue to me, I quite liked the setup. Beer garden in the back, a rail, and then an open area in the front, where anyone underage or not drinking could go.
Opener was Carcass. not familar with them, did a good set Testament was next, great set, played some older stuff, very nice to see them Slayer was good, glad I saw them
Highlite was testament. That and the roughly 1 million posters with prohibited acts and items that listed moshing and crowd surfing as grounds for ejection. Then all 3 bands encouraged the mosh pits.....
Guess I'll have to wait till I get to my tablet to open anything on the top bar. I'll need instructions. lol

I've never minded getting older, it's all a state of mind anyway, at least for as long as you have your health. I'm in administration at a nursing home. Watched many an old person go downhill. I only hope when I reach that state I'm fortunate enough to go quickly. It does give you clarity though about the end. I don't fear it and have many years still to go.

I watched 9 to 5 yesterday. Oh my, it's 35 years old now (1980), I found myself pointing things out like, "Did you notice there's not a single computer in this whole building?" Have you listened to the demo yet? My opinion on it was this. The whole song is pretty much fleshed out there, a little rough though. The addition of Glenn put the "polish on the rock" sorta speak. JP without Glenn, I don't think it would lasted nearly as long. I enjoyed listening to that though. They sure came a long way in a very short time. Am I rambling yet?? My ears and stopped up and my head is still stuffy so yep probably.
Drama? Come on, man, when have you EVER seen this site without drama. Good to see you though, MM. I'll listen to that track ASAP but my mest to metallark (who I had to reconstruct from the heyday of FD1 if I recall) but nice to read posts from you. IGNORE button was the best change ever made since I saw you last. Never once had a soul on "ignore" but now it works and is needed. Shitdisturbers post 50 messages and now only 16 get through to me. Need I remind you of the "ugliness" between you and DF? Hell, I liked you both! Heyday of the forum as I say. FD2?? VERY glad to have contributed (albeit in a small way) to that project. -No...I would never put either of you on ignore no matter what...intelligent musicians.

That has something to do with the web browser your using etc... Very fickle thing. I can use the reply page just fine in Mozilla on a desktop, but NOT on my notebook. I can't get chrome to cooperate on either the desktop or the notebook, but it does make a better browser for the notebook even though it messes up things here and so forth and so on. In other words, I'm clueless. lol
