It's hard to make the fingers look like the knuckle is comming forward while the fingers are fimly pressed down. I think it's a really good drawing Becks. Very good facial expression, it could be no other than Mr. Downing.

Very true but errors can be corrected, even the ones in pen and ink. It's a question of knowing how. You can use solvents with oil paint (and use walnut oil instead of linseed), a sharp knife for ink, and a lot of water for watercolors. My study is rather easy to correct since I didn't add gum arabic to the water.

While I don't see that your color distracted from the work, a vey wise person once told me it is easier to create life than resurect the dead. Speaking of art of course. Yup...gotta file them down to a nice rounded shape. Those turkey feathers have to look as round and flawless at the tips as possible.
