Ha! You are so right.  It is poetic justice for Chad Pennington.  I will cheer for him for sure.  Ah, the politics of pro sports.

Although my Patriots didn't get in the playoffs, it was rather poetic that Miami won.  After all, Chad Pennington was kicked to the curb like yesterdays news for Brett and now the Jets miss the playoffs, fire their coach and if Brett retires they have no proven quarterback at all !
[Jeanine] Monday, December 29, 2008 8:45:56 PM

So, the Jets do not make the playoffs - even with Brett Favre. Manjini gets fired.  Brett will most likely really truly leave the sport of football.  It has been an interesting year to say the least.  At least they did better than last year (4-12) this year 9-7.  I enjoyed watching Brett for at least one more year.  Thanks for putting up with my posts this season......Go Dolphins?   Sorry the Bears didn't make it for you.

The EVIL EMPIRE has returned in all it's glorious pinstripes.  New stadium, 425 million on three new players, 275 million on A-Rod and 189 million on Jeter.  There's only one catch.  They've got this team and the bill they created for the next decade.  If they can't gel as a team and win, they're fucked !  The Yankees weren't an issue last year, so that eliminates the last two.  The Angels weren't a problem for years so that gets rid of Tex.  C.C. was a gas can once he had to face American League hitters and Burnett .  .  .  It's a BIG gamble  .  .  .  one that may just bring the house down.

Well Jeanine, with the Bears playing Thursday and by not being in the Green Bay local market, I got to watch Farve and the Jets beat the Bills.  I think they are playing good defense and they just might do some damage come playoff time.  I couldn't be happier for Farve.  Unfortunately, I am sure you can appreciate the fact that a Packer loss does not upset me, but we are playing next, are we not??  If the Bears aren't gonna win the division, I surely didn't want the Vikings to do it.  As far as I'm concerned, the Bears and Packers ARE the NFC Central oops, I mean North.  Good luck in our up coming battle!!

Thanks Ron, I appreciate that.  I know many people have many different feelings about what happened.  All I know is he got me to watch football and keep watching for 16 years!!  I wish he were still a Packer but I am happy I can still watch him on Sunday.  Timboni, I hear what you are saying too, the media likes to paint different pictures.  I don't know what exactly happened behind closed doors, maybe someday we will know.  Go Bears?!?!?!?!?!?
Jets 9-5
Packers 5-9

Hi Jeanine,  you know I'm a Bears fan, so please keep that in mind as you read this...it pains me that Farve is with the Jets.  A player of his calibur and status should never be in his position.  Unlike players who continue to play long after their skills have diminished, he still has a lot left in the tank (so to speak).  We still have to face you one more time and I am glad Farve is not there (not that we faired any better with Rogers leading the way!!) But Farve has more than talent, he's experienced and a natural leader.  I have been rooting for the Jets this year just because of Farve (normally I despise all things NY in regards to sports).  I only write this to let you know that your pain is felt not just by Packer Fans, but by Fans of the sport in general.

Like I said, I'm an outsider looking in.  For someone outside Green Bay, it looked rather orchestrated on Brett's part.  Once it got started, it was obvious the Packers took the ball and ran with it in a direction 180 degrees away from Brett.  I think it was a mutual betrayal with each party trying to make the other look like the bad guy.

Well Timboni, I won't argue but I have to say, Ted Thompson wanted to get rid of Brett Favre the day he was hired (maybe even before then).  They hate each other.

Being on the "outside, looking in "  I saw it exactly the opposite.  It looked like Brett had the whole thing planned to get out of Green Bay and make the Packers look like the bad guy in the process, but it kind of blew up in his face.  That being said, he is playing pretty good ( Damn it !  )

Jets 8-5
Packers 5-8Kinda funny how Brett's presence or lack thereof changes a team's record.  Sorry for the rant but I guess I am still a little sore about our "trade" and how disrespectful the Packers were to a player who gave us about 16 years of football bliss.
