No, it was the really nerdy girl who always called her "sir".  I forget her name tho.

Didn't Charlie Brown always call Peppermint Patty 'Sir'??...so you're in good company, Bev!!

Since I cut my hair really short, I've been called "sir" twice!  Kinda pisses me off, but, hey ... gotta laugh at ignorance, though.
With the exception of my height, and a couple other things , I am obviously not a man
[spapad] Tuesday, February 03, 2009 7:26:34 PM
You are ABSOLUTELY RIGHT!!!!!!!! COMCAST!!!!! I HATE THEM!
If I were to post a picture of what I think they do to people, it would be banned!!!! LOL
Today, I went and stood in line at the Comcast office for over a half hour and the guy right in front of me
turned in a digital cable box which had stopped recording (which I know the feeling of) and the girl
told him she couldn't get him a new box because they were all out. He lost his good humor at this point and
was getting very aggitated, so I told him about my story about last night and then several others told their
little nightmare sceanarios of dealing with Comcast.
I was suprised the girls didn't shut down the customer service windows. There was blood in the water and the
sharks were swimming in tight!
I was very glad that when I got up there the nice old lady could find my account, but she did tell me they changed my account
number after they sent the bill out. Huh? WHY?
I would kill for a better alternative in this town, but the Satallite services cost almost as much once you add internet.
Guess that's my rant for this week. I'm not allowed any more! HA!!!

I just wonder if I went in and kissed the old lady's ring and spoke in low tones and asked to see the father would I get an
offer I couldn't refuse. LOL

You must have Comcast.  Though, I've never heard of them screwing up that badly.

I went to pay my cable bill by phone tonight, only to discover that my account number entered went straight to customer service and when the idiots there tried to help me out I found that I have no account with these fools after years! No access by my account number, my phone number, my last payment confirmation, my postal address they mail my bill to, and my 911 address. I do not exist to these people! My bill exists! But I  cant even pay it! WTF!!!
I hate the cable company bad enough as it is! I have nothing decent to watch on TV and I'm getting charged a a bazillion dollars for my cable and internet! there is only one cable company in town and they are like the Mafia of Media! I hope they all get a bad stomach virus that lasts for days!

That's true, HB.  My Accord is a mere 15,000 away from 60,000 miles.

Scorp, be glad you only need the sensor.  My roommate needs a new catalytic converter for his 04 Sentra.
[scorpion01] Tuesday, January 27, 2009 3:32:19 PM

I NEEDED A NEW KNOCK CENSOR. THAT WAS THE MAJOR PROBLEM. WHILE HE HAD IT IN THERE I HAD HIM CHANGE THE OIL AND FLUSH THE RADIADOR AND PUT IN  NEW ANTI FREEZE. (HADN'T CHANGED THAT IN THE 7 YEARS I HAVE THE CAR.) HE CAPPED OFF ALL THE OTHER FLUIDS, FILLED THE TIRES WITH AIR. THEY WERE RUNNING LOW.  (I'M AN IDIOT WHEN IT COMES TO MECHANICAL THINGS. CAN'T DO ANYTHING FOR MYSELF) PARTS AND INSTALLATION $350.

OH WELL! I HAVE BEEN LUCKY WITH THIS CAR. HAD THE TIMING BELT CHANGED AT 60K MILES. THAT WAS THE ONLY MAJOR EXPENSE OTHER THAN ROUTINE MAINTENANCE.  I TAKE THE WIFE AND KIDS UP TO LAKE GEORE EVERY YEAR SO I DON'T WANT TO BE CAUGHT THAT FAR AWAY FROM HOME WITH A MAJOR PROBLEM.

Darth, there you go, 380 automatic, its a good ratio.  interesting to see mercury's, they discontinued them in canada, although they still sell grand marquis to rental fleets????

Scorpion, hope my problems were contagious, the dealer just called and said nothing wrong with my car

I HOPE THIS CAR THING AIN'T CONTAGOUS. MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON LAST NIGHT. I DROPPED THE CAR OFF THIS MORNING. I HOPE NOTHING SERIOUS.

sure but as you know, with a used car half of what you look at will be crap.  I think the stick is slightly more popular now, but slightly
duplicate your search but change to automatic and see what happens

Not really, HB.  You can get a stick relatively easy here in the US.  In fact, I just did a used car search on www.autotrader.com and found 32 matches within 25 miles of me.

come to north america, you need an act of god, or a special order most of the time to get a manual trans.  last car I bought, I searched for months to find one that was 4 dr, with air, abs and a stick.  I had 16K, and it was in 98, one would have thought I could find one easily, but no.  settled for a ford contour (mondeo to you).  was ok, not the best.

I miss driving a stick.

It's impossible to operate the clutch and drive with my knees.... I'm only 5ft 4" just for the record. If i drove an auto it would be a different story.... But i have mastered the art of eating, singing, drinking, playing with the CD player and yelling abuse out the car window..... bwahahaha!! All from my days as a Pizza delivery driver.... I should list these skills on my resume.. hmmm

Saxon are playing a show right near me in May- where will I be? Scarborough, freezing to death in some retreat place with all my parents old university friends... I'm not so much angry as upset as there's precious few good bands playing in Manchester this year it seems- after Priest I see a great long gigless future stretching ahead of me...

you mean you cant drive with your knees?  most people I see driving to work are managing a cell phone, cofee, some form of breakfast food, and shaving or aplying makeup.  of course we are all driving automatics, but they rarely manage a hand near the wheel.

Well, actually I looked it up, and it says (on Wikipedia) that the German Karl Benz is widely regarded as the inventor of the first car. Other contenders include (if Im not much mistaken) a French guy and a Brit. Maybe even an American for all we know.

DC, it does not surprise me that only former British colonies (and jolly ol' England itself) drive on the wrong side of the road.  You guys need to get with the times...The days of the horse and carriage and jousting is far in the past (unless you're into those Renaissance Faires).

With us, grades and coolness usualy didnt have a lot in common... The cool ones were those that had nice, shiny clothes, and a regular girlfriend. The rest of us were experts at skipping school, forging excuse notes, cheating at tests... And studying Jackass movies. Dirtbags, in short. But in the end... [devils_child] Thursday, January 22, 2009 7:09:25 AM
Oh yeah i knew it!!! I payed attention in school....

"About a quarter of the world drives on the left, and the countries that do are mostly old British colonies. This strange quirk perplexes the rest of the world; but there is a perfectly good reason.

In the past, almost everybody travelled on the left side of the road because that was the most sensible option for feudal, violent societies. Since most people are right-handed, swordsmen preferred to keep to the left in order to have their right arm nearer to an opponent and their scabbard further from him. Moreover, it reduced the chance of the scabbard (worn on the left) hitting other people.

Furthermore, a right-handed person finds it easier to mount a horse from the left side of the horse, and it would be very difficult to do otherwise if wearing a sword (which would be worn on the left). It is safer to mount and dismount towards the side of the road, rather than in the middle of traffic, so if one mounts on the left, then the horse should be ridden on the left side of the road."
Class dismissed!!! Mwahahahaha!!   -Might add that if i feel the need to joust in traffic i'm in a better position...!

Umm... Cars were invented in Germany. Or better said, it was an internal combustion engine on a carriage that was otherwise pulled by horses... But hey, it was a start.

Oh, and Germans drive on the right side of the road, as does entire continental Europe. I think that the left side is only in use in the former British empire.
