Nothing new in NZ really LOL! Here's something funny - the most read news story on the most pupular NZ news website two days ago was about a dog who knocked the handbrake off on his owners car, and ended up driving the car in to a cafe. That's an almost typical news day here LOL! So I've been catching up on the latest US politcal news - it's so much more entertaining than our politics LOL!

Only good part about it (other than the getting paid part) is that work will start an hour later. So starting tonight and until Sunday, I'll get to wake up an hour later than usual (extra rest, in other words).
What's new in New Zealand?

Now, I hope I don't bore eveyone to death, but I have an interesting story. Almost 2 1/2 years ago, I got a new Honda Accord, and had a, I suppose, bad habit of forgeting to put them (my keys) in my desk drawer when I got to work, and would leave them sitting on my desk. About a month or two after I bought the car, that bad habit caued me to loose this key right off my desk at work! I figured someone had thought they had sat their key down on my desk and picked it up by accident. Anyway, I had to have a friend drive me home so I could get my extra key before I could drive my car home that night. Also this key missing concerned me as it had a panic button so If someone just walked around the area pointing at cars they would eventually get mine to sound off, but time went by, the key was never returned, but nothing ever happened to my car either, so I'd given up ever seeing that key ages ago. Today, I got a package from the main branch of one of our local grocery stores. In the package was a note that stated that my keys had been turned in to the office at their WV store, and that office sent them on to The main office in Roanoke, VA. Due to the little discount scan bar on my key ring they were able to find my address and send me back my key. So, I now have my key back after over two years and a half! Nice to know whoever took them thought to take them to the store, or even cared enough to bother. Bless them! Edited at: Wednesday, September 16, 2009 6:10:55 PM

I found the reciept that was still in the bag and when I got home I called the number to the store and after describing it I was told someone had indeed found it in the washroom and turned it in...I had it back in less than a week!!!!!! Nice to know whoever took them thought to take them to the store, or even cared enough to bother. Bless them!

Now, I hope I don't bore eveyone to death, but I have an interesting story. Almost 2 1/2 years ago, I got a new Honda Accord, and had a, I suppose, bad habit of forgeting to put them in my desk drawer when I got to work, and would leave them sitting on my desk. The drive through the mountains is just priceless....no telephone wires,no bars on your cell phone...no stores no anything
but the road through the mountains all the way up to Mt.St.Helens.....the scenery is majestic and massive.....we rolled
through the mountains with some tunes in the car and smoking a bowl on the way!! lmao!!!!!! We also went to Mt.Rainer

Bless them!

Yeah...St.Helens blew its top(or side I should say) in 1980.....can't post any pictures of it right now...but yes it is spectacular! Its so quiet out there.....not very many humans at all....
When we stopped off the side of the road to take some pics...the forest is right beside you.....a bear or a wild cat could leap right out from there and there would
be nothing you could do....but they obviously stay away from the road..ect...they are smart and know when cars roll through..ect...
Sounds wicked! Mt St Helens is the one where the side actually blew out of the mountain isn't it? I've seen pictures, it's pretty spectacular!

Its very cool to see especially from the view point where we were.....a masive reminder of nature's power. Mt.Rainer is absolutely
picture perfect....it is a post card picture ...everything around that area is supurb and I envy those who have property there!!

Morning everyone! Shitty nights sleep here, so I'm up fairly early and will take the dog for a run soon lol.
Joe - the shop where I got my drums have music books, but not magazines. May be worth me looking online to see what's available!
Great to 'see' you Freeze! I hope all is well with you!
I'll see if they have a subsribers page with details on etc.. Maybe you could ask Santa to bring you a years subscription or something? lol
We get them imported here but they dissapear very fast! Have you checked out if they get any at the store you got your drums from?
I get mine there or at the news agent. But like you say, ver,y very rare! lol
Becks wrote:
Oooh those would be wicked! Haha, cheers! Sadly, I have never seen any drumming magazines in the stores in my town If I did, I would snap up the decents ones quick smart!
joedraper wrote:
I need to scan and email you, got the notation for Moby Dick and Black Dog I think.. that will well impress her! As well as being a very good workout to play lol. Do you buy any of the drummer magazines? They have the most coolest notations in the back usually.. Good ones, not like the shite they put on the net and expect us to decode lol.
Becks wrote:
Haha sounds like a plan to me!
I've got some jazzy solos in one of my music books which I enjoy playing, and I also just play random stuff that pops in to my head LOL! My sister wants me to learn some Led Zeppelin, cos she's a die hard Zep fan haha.
joedraper wrote:
That is so right Becks! If you're having fun, you're learning. Fun is the most important element! And broaden your horizons. Metal is amazing to play but so is the mellow stuff. I'm going through a Clapton phase right now. Oh and I'm still trying to hunt down Ginger Baker for some lessons..I know he's around here somewhere, now all I have to do is coincide my outings with one of his court apearances and get him to give me some lessons lol.
Although I've heard he's not one of the most social people around.. I think I'll follow some advice from a fellow musician friend, I'll just go up to him and say 'hey Ginger, I can play all your stuff, can you play mine?'
Lol he'll either be so pissed at my audacity or amused by my brashness that either way, it's a win-win situation right?
PS: In my dreams can I play all of Ginger's work rofl!
Becks wrote:
Cheers Ron I think I'm coming along alright considering I'm teaching myself LMAO! Ah well, I have heaps of fun playing and that's the main thing I think.

Haha sounds like a plan to me!
I've got some jazzy solos in one of my music books which I enjoy playing, and I also just play random stuff that pops in to my head LOL! My sister wants me to learn some Led Zeppelin, cos she's a die hard Zep fan haha.

Hi Blamly...
Yeah Ron, I feel so bad for his wife. On the other hand, he put up a good fight and had a positive outlook right up to the end. I thought he was a great actor, when I was an early teen he was pretty popular. Like in Nort and South, Dirty Dancing, but I must admit I think my favorite movie that he made has to be Too Wong Fu. I just loved how he pulled that role off.
Also Keith Floyd also died (anyone remember him?) Yet another Cancer victim, Ok he technically died of a heart attack but he was also suffering from bowel cancer. Is it just me or is there an abnormal rise in cancers these days?
Makes me wonder if we're totally missing something here. [Show/Hide Quoted Message](Quoting Message by ron h from Monday, September 14, 2009 8:41:55 PM)

Struck me as odd that you would have to report a person as being too skinny but being too fat? Never!

This lady was like yeah when it's realeased. The girl who was helping said oh it says it was released in July, to which the other lady says 'American July'. WTF is American July?! LMAO! Have you ever seen Disney's Walle movie? Doubt you have, but of course I have! The people on that movie remind me of America in 25 years! So fat, you'd have to give them all their own motorized transportation just to get around. The Handicap zone at stores is going to grow to the first 10 parking spots in each lane being for the "handicapped".
Guess I'll never have that chance. Cleared three acres yesterday, ran four miles after and have a 13 miler coming up tomorrow. What fun.

Ooooh I used to get the wooden spoon on my butt! LOL! Only if I was super naughty though. Yeah it's really frowned upon here now too, some people get really passionate debating about it. Personally I think there's more important things to worry about than a kid getting a smack on the butt cos it tried to run on a busy road or whatever. Actually, I think I've only paddeled her twice in my life, and both times she was being really nasty and around 3 1/2 to 4? Been a long time since I had to tell her what for. Funny? Seems I recall much more beatings and being drug down the hall with mom saying "trust me, this hurts me more than it's going to hurt you!" LOL Back then we all got our asses handed to us when we did something wrong.
Do it now, and you considered an abuser!
