I know it's been out for a while now, but I just watched 'A Night At The Museum'.  I must admit that it was very entertaining!!!  It was great seeing Dick VanDyke, however it starred Ben Stiller.

Babylon AD sucked.

I saw a movie titled 'Shutter' last night.  It was very, very creepy.  It had that dark haired guy from 'Dawsons Creek' in the lead and I thought it was pretty good.

On the 'Creepy-Meter' I would give this a 8.5!!

(the back drop being Japan really helped a lot)

Yes, I saw it. It was a touching film. Sean Penn did a fine job but, for him, I do not believe the role was much of a stretch....

For some great Stallone movies check out Cliffhanger, Lock Up, Tango And Cash, First Blood, Rambo 4 and Rocky 1,2,3 and 4, particularly Rocky 3 with the great and under-rated Mr T as Clubber Lang.

Hi guys,

I'm back finally after a chaotic move and crazy December.

I've walked out of three movies: 1. The 5th Element  2. 16 Blocks  3. Slumdog Millionaire (sorry, I don't do torture scenes... which is why I haven't seen most of Mel Gibson's movies...)

By the way, does anyone know how I can change my e-mail address without having to re-register (and thus lose my respect points)?  Thanks!

Mamma mia was dire beyond belief. The worst film I have ever seen.

[_strat_] Monday, January 05, 2009 7:28:56 AM
Yeah, youd think he has an ammo factory in his stomach, and pulls machine gun bullet belts out of his ass...

As for magic firefights, I suggest Harry Potter.

Saw Bedtime stories with my son on the weekend.  good show

Strat, your right, stalone probably doesnt know how to reload, but magic sure would be usefull in a firefight!
[Return_of_Darth_Painkiller_0870] Monday, January 05, 2009 5:04:24 AM
I saw Marley & Me with a friend Saturday.  GREAT MOVIE!  Probably the best movie you will see all year.  It will make you laugh, amaze you, and definitely make you teary-eyed.
[_strat_] Monday, January 05, 2009 3:46:37 AM
Oh, dont even get me started on Stallone... With his magic guns that never run out of ammo, and never have to be reloaded. I havent once seen him reload a gun!

Oh, and the final scene of Rambo 3... He, his friend and a bunch of Afghans on horses (!) beat a Soviet army complete with tanks, helicopters and everything!

I love a good action movie as much as anyone, but THAT was just too cheesy for me.

As for Arnold... Well, he was ok in  Conan the barbarian (tho the movie sucks when compared to the book), and he had a lot of good, memorable lines in the Terminator... So I guess he is pretty much ok as an actor.

Walker is rubbish, it's part of the reason everyone takes the piss out of him today. But in the early to mid 80s he was in some great action movies. He just never went on with it the way Stallone and Schwarzenegger did.

They are both "straight to video" guys for a reason. The last Seagal movie I saw at the cinema would have been On Deadly Ground in the early 90s. As for Chuck, I really enjoyed Code Of Silence, Delta Force and Missing In Action. I was in Canada last year and saw Delta Force on TV, it's great stuff. Lee Marvin's in it too.
[_strat_] Monday, January 05, 2009 1:50:45 AM
Well, ok. Hes great at martial arts. Chuck Norris too. But I still think that theyre both kinda cheesy.

[jimmyjames] Monday, January 05, 2009 1:48:13 AM
Not sure if this is true or not but i heard Seagal is the only non-japanese person to own land in Japan. The Japanese apparently  have a policy that forbids foreign ownership of any of their land. Seagal, however, is held in such high esteem in the martial arts world that the allowed the rule to be bent so that he could own a small piece of land to build a dojo or something on.

I agree....don't bother with "The Happening." I fell asleep within the first 30 minutes. Might try again but so far, not impressed in the least.

No the "Orphanage" was actually quite good. Not a slasher flick, no Saw-like gore but more the Hitchcock style of suspense / horror. Interesting camera angles, spooky noises, soundtrack and scenery builds quite nicely to a pretty cool ending. Give THAT a shot instead. Heck, you'll improve your Spanish if nothing more!

Finally seen Rob Zombie's Halloween, crap that was a good movie.  It almost make me sorry for Michael.. I like the way he did the movie, showing parts of Michael's childhood.  Very cool movie!
