Hey there British.Steel...Pip's Cap. button is broke on her lap top, that's why everything is caps...she has repeatedly apologized in the past for this, just to let you know that she doesn't mean anything by it... I prefer Dave over sammy, BUT, I like them both ways!! It`s Ed I want to hear anyway.

Personally think that it should be Van Halen, not Van Hagar. Sammy's solo stuff rocks though.
[K2M] Monday, June 15, 2009 12:35:43 PM
Van Halen. Dave is HoTT.

Van Halen w/o Roth?? I must have missed that...hell, I didn't think VH put out an album since 1984...hmmmmm...I know Hagar threw some has beens together for a couple of records in the late 80's early 90's, but they were nothing to write home about... Edited at: Sunday, June 14, 2009 7:42:00 AM

Damn straight!!! Nobody sounds like david lee roth, no one. He has an original voice, I can tell you everytime i hear him singing i can tell its him. Hagar i have to listen for a minute, or maybe even 2, he sounds alot like other singers. Roth has that squeal, that sound, thats completly his own.
[ron h] Sunday, June 14, 2009 11:53:25 PM
I would assume it's like Halford making the original sound for Priest...Owens couldn't duplicate it any more than Hagar couldn't duplicate Roth. [Show/Hide Quoted Message](Quoting Message by Diamond Jim from Sunday, June 14, 2009 11:49:57 PM)

Yeah I was just wondering if you could explain how he made up their original sound? Thats a very interesting statement.

That statement rings true, DLR is Van Halen. He made up their original sound, and added his own flamboyent presence to the picture. I like Hagar, i think he's got an insane voice, but he doesnt have the right sound for VH. I really wanted to see Chicken foot when they came through town, more for Satch then anything though.

I have David Lee Roth's Solo Stuff, and most of it was good! His humor is legend!

I do give Sammy props for Cabo Wabo, though. Really cool place and, as I have posted, not a bad tequila at all.
I'd also argue against the DLR sucked alone comment. Come on, he had some really funny intros to his videos back in the day. While not as good as Van Halen (Gods to me!), they certainly made you laugh. "My doctor said I need to take a LAXATIVE!! - Not in my store you don't!" HAAAA!!!! Classic.

Oh, David Lee without question! I almost cried with 5150. While a fan of the Red Rocker, the only song off that album (that I did buy, BTW) was "Get Up."
While I have seen Van Hagar a few times, the BEST was seeing VH last tour with DLR. Only regret was that Michael Anthony wasn't there. Loved every minute of it, though.

Okay i know Eddie VH has had problems with past guitars breaking and etc... but i miss his striped EVH Frankenstine guitar, u know..the black and red one. i miss it so baddly. his new guitars are cool. but no where near the old one

OK, this really does not have much bering on this topic, but I was just, out of curiosity, looking at Dave's gallery. At 56 years of age and still leaping as high as the height of a mike stand! I was truely impressed! I think he has great stage presence.

David Lee Roth is a much greater frontman. Haggar is cool too, but Dave justfits VH better.

Oh, oh! First of all I agree on the singers. Second, this song (summer nights) is definately my favourite Van Halen number. The atmosphere is just awesome! [Show/Hide Quoted Message](Quoting Message by Numero Uno from Sunday, June 14, 2009 6:20:51 PM)

Ok... Here it comes... I hate Roth, love Hagar. Sorry, Roth was imo just a good showman... Not much of a singer. The only Roth song that I care for is Running With the Devil, I hate Jump... Love 5150 with Hagar. Infact the only Van Halen album that I have, and I dont think I will ever bother with any other.

please don't hate me but I liked Van Hagar better than Van Halen--don't get me wrong --Dave was a good frontman with a strong personality but I just liked the songs better with Sammy.

You should hear the rest of the album. It is really funny.
Hey, I still give him an A for effort. Took some cojones to try and pull that one off. Especially the faster songs (you MUST hear "Tímido").
BLEAH!!! I don't like the way he pronounces "Yankee Rose" in Spanish.
guidogodoy wrote:
There ya go! Ever hear him do it in Spanish? Video doesn't sync up (it is still the English one) but he did, indeed, do the whole album himself in Spanish. I LOVE his Spanish version of "Shyboy" = Tímido HAAA!
