Thanks bud. The solo is in 2 parts the 1st half is an octave of each other the 2nd half is harmonies and there is a 3rd track with the high end harmony at the tail end of it. All parts are layered with delay and light chorus effect......
This song is the direction I want to head in. Darker and heavier... [Show/Hide Quoted Message](Quoting Message by guitardude from Monday, May 24, 2010 12:00:18 PM)

VENOM - FUCK OFF AND DIE 1983
Heres a band that is not as talented as Judas Priest,I sure am glad that I have Dale and Brian Evans(the stupid one since there are two of them) to confirm this one.
If it wasn't for them I don't think that I would of been able to figure it out.
I think you must have my posts and Brian Evans mixed up or something. Not sure about what is going on here but all I said was that Judas Priest are more talented in my opinion. Take it or leave it. Shoot, its no big deal to me. I'm not trying to get into a big argument here and I don't really appreciate being called a "LIAR". I do know a lot about metal.

You think Venom were trying to be talented? Or "Bathory"? They had a shitty tinny untalented sound on purpose to achieve an ugly atmosphere that matches lyrically what they were creating and writting about and also what they looked like aesthetics wise.Black metal is not punk but the idea of creating a "raw" sound is very similar. If Venom had a sound like Defenders Of The Faith it wouldn't be fucking "Venom" now would it? No.
I do NOT like very much punk rock at all yes a few that I really like, but not very much at all, most of it sucks to me but I even know "why" they sound like they do,I know that they are not trying or claming to be "talented". Hey man, don't let this heavy metal radical know-it-all put down your opinions. He tried to pull that veteran intimidation stuff calling me a fanboy and a poser (which i'm obviously not ) in my Iron Maiden discussion thread but ran into a brick wall instead. Well Dale....."DUH". Thats what is "idiotic" dude. And NO a band like 'VENOM is not "talented" and NO they are not "good musicians" man, thats what I'm trying to tell you. Its not about being "talented" and its not about being "good musicians" its about "fuck your god" and being "agressive" with hatred through music, not talent or good musicianship. There was a scene long ago that used to uphold this ideology and philosophy and its just plain right out stupid to even say what you are saying. Its like telling somebody wich is more talented...the Super Bowl champion New Orleans Saints or my back yard football team I assemble once a year on the 4th of July? And you have to actually tell somebody that your opinion is the New Orleans Saints you think is better...while the people you've just told are thinking "no shit.....duh". Its a no-brianer dude, thats like saying you think Judas Priest are more talented than the Sex Pistols..ect...again "no shit". Its sooooooo obvious that it shouldn't even be asked or compared.
I'm not trying to be a dick and I'm not saying that you should like black or death metal its just frustrating to read this lack of knowledge from you and many others about "metal". I grew up in the 1980's I was 10 years old in 1980 when I first got into heavy metal with British Steel and I was 19 years old in 1989 getting into the first Morbid Angel album...I've been through the entire 1980's as a "metal fan",heavy metal, black metal, death metal, thrash metal and I know these genres very well,I am a veteran.

It shouldn't be "this hard" for you to understand, maybe thats why it baffles my fuckin brain Dale.

No offense Dale, but that sounds "idiotic". The entire purpose of "black metal" and "death metal" was "NOT" to be as talented, like talented heavy metal bands such as Judas Priest,Black Sabbath,Iron Maiden,Saxon. That was the whole idea dude,it baffles my 39 year old brian that there are so called 'metal" fans out here that actually believe that a band like "Venom" or any black/death metal band for that matter are or were trying to be as talented as a band like Judas Priest or Iron Maiden! HAHAHA are you fucking kidding me Dale?
Thats like Brian Evans( the poser who stole the real Brian Evan's name)claiming Toxic Holocaust are trying to be like Judas Priest or Iron maiden and are trying to play heavy metal. Come on,you guys have really got to start doing your homework man,I am not saying you have to like black metal or death metal its ok if you hate it,but to actually think that they are trying to be as talented as a band like Priest spills of ignorance.
I'm just trying to tell you because sooner or later somebody else is going to trash you up one side and down the other for not realizing what your talking about so it might as well be from me right? Again, you don't have to like black metal, death metal or those "hard core death metal bands" as you called them, but they are not trying to be "talented" they are about extreme aggression and attitude.
No.

Venom's best albums are the first 4 from 1981 to 1985 Welcome To Hell,Black Metal,At War With Satan and Possessed. The other 2 albums by Venom that are very good are 1996 "Cast In Stone and 2000 "Ressurection". Those are the 6 best Venom albums of all time, the rest I wouldn't really recommend.
I like Bathory's first 4 albums,1984 "Bathory" then "The Return" and then 1986 Under The Sign Of The Black Mark and the classic 1988 album "Blood, Fire, Death . But when "Twilight Of The Gods" came out in 90' or 91' thats when I didn't care for Quorthon's music anymore,it just wasn't "Bathory" to me anymore as the sound and style changed to drastically.
Celtic Frost used to be very cool with thier first 2 albums 1984 "Morbid Tales" and 1985 "To Mega Therion" but after that they fell apart going into a very commercial non-like-Celitc Frost style.By the time Vanity Nemisis came out they were already "terrible" in my opinion.
The best King Diamond albums in my opinion are Fatal Portrait,Voodoo and The Puppet master, but thats the only 3 albums I really like by the King, the rest are just not my thing. These are the albums from Venom,King Diamond,Celtic Frost and Bathory that I would recommend you playing on your radio show rather than any other releases from these bands. The albums that I mentioned are the band's best albums in the eyes of many old-school fans from back in the day, just an observation and of course an opinion but a damn good opinion! lol!

Well, you can see how that turned out, can't you? Anyway, she made us all write out the words to one of our favorite songs and then write what the song was about. Since we all were taught to read something and then interpret it as a whole body of work, that is what we all did. She told us all that we were wrong and we were supposed to interpret it word for word. We argued that you take it out of context that way (DUH!) but it's the only way for them to prove the point that they want to make. I wrote out Bloodstone and You Got Another Thing Coming, just to see what she could come up with. She couldn't find anything wrong with Bloodstone (and it killed her!) and she said YGATC was Satanic because of this line: One Life, I'm gonna live it up. Her comment was that they don't believe in eternal life and so it is Satanic. Ummm.... yeah, OK. She also told us that Def Leppard was Satanic because of their name - they are mocking Jesus because he cured the DEAF and the LEPERS....... So at the age of 12, I realized that not all adults were more intelligent than 12 year olds!

For myself I find it to be a load of crap because I'm a Born Again Christian and a Judas Priest/Heavy Metal fan. I know the difference between Satanic lyrics from Science Fiction based heavy metal lyrics. Rob writes very much in a sci-fi way because he's a fan of it himself.
I hate saying this, but my brother Christians read too much in to all that. They can't seem to seperate fantasy from reality so they bash what they don't understand.
If you want to find this clip on YouTube go to Rob's Acceptance Speech in the news section and it should come up over there.

HAHAHA!! Ah,people like you are a dime a dozen idiots...I'll give it to you in 3 stages here.....First off your not even qualified to be talking to the ranks of somebody like me and yes I say this with arrogance towards you because this is the only thing someone like you could possibly understand.....
Second.....I'd be rich right now if I had a nickle for every time I explained "metal" to those who are irrelevant to this elite genre but I'm only doing this to expose your stupidity and embarrass you in front of the others wich you rightfully deserve for your obvious unworthy comments since the only thing you care about is "Iron Maiden".
Third.....Take a look at what shirt the singer is wearing first off...its Bathory's first album 1984,the vocals totally pay homage to Quorthon(Bathory R.I.P.) and the flame spitting is also a tribute to "Quorthon" of Bathory as he used to do this as the Norwegians took this up like Abbath from Immortal so your a dumb fuck for asking.
A real old-school fan would know this and where is the guitar solo in the opening track "Hades" on the first Bathory album dipshit?? There isn't one because not every track HAS to have a guitar solo and this was the philosophy back in the early to mid 80's way before the pop-cultured shit bands like Nirvana chose not to use guitar solos because they didn't know how to play them or the record company told them not to because of the latest "trend".
Bands like Bathory would occasionaly pumble a song all the way through with NO solo sometimes upholding the philosophy of the 70's punk like Venom sometimes used to do. Where is the "guitar solo" in Breaking The Law?? There isn't one so I suppose Judas Priest sucks because they didn't play a freakin "guitar solo" like Iron Maiden would of? Psfffff what a joke.
So your attempt on dogging Toxic Holocaust for not playing a "guitar solo" failed miserably, your making yourself look like an idiot that you are so thanks for opening up your mouth and removing all doubt dumbshit. Go back to your Iron Maiden thread and shut your mouth,if you ever want to disscuss "metal" with me,do your homework first fanboy.
Hey Diamond, thats just a little over the top if you ask me. The flame spitting and all. lol! Thats decent instrumentation but that singer doesn't have much vocal talent if you ask me. Anyone could sing like that. No guitar solo. This doesn't even start to compete with classic 80's metal in my opinion. (Quoting Message by J.D. DIAMOND from Sunday, February 28, 2010 12:50:23 PM)

I checked it out on Snopes and the family had asked a long while ago for the mailings to stop, and yet a uber "christian" I worked with, even after I showed her the printed request from the family for the mail to stop, became hostile with me and went and posted Her erroneous email at the timeclock and asked all to participate. Does that make her doing God's will? NO, that makes her a selfish bitch who wants to justify her right to "feel good" Bullshit!

Hell yeah hellrider crank it!!!!!!! Yeah Metallark these guys have the "old-school" scene flowing through thier viens, they uphold the "image/aesthetics" along with the sound of the 80's with bands like the old-Slayer's first 4 albums from 83' to 86' and Bathory's vocals,Sodom...ect...this is what "metal" is all about, they roll thrash, speed.death into one and again with thier image is stating that they hail the 80's and are saying fuck off to new-nu-aged metal scene.
This is what I've been preaching for YEARS and still am.Whenever some "DIPSHIT" tells me "image doesn't mean anything" I slam this philosophy down thier fuckin throats with a passion as I know I'm right.Hail the 1980's!!!!!!!
