Sweet. I know where there's a Hyundai dealer near my house. You can sleep in the living room for the night, and the next day we can wreak some car-related havoc.
Becks, thanks for being my servicing back-up. Not that there's been much serving going on anyway, but still.
well, I have managed to take a few. 4 for 6 in my attempts. now all those loopholes are closed I probably will have issues getting more. its good fun. Try a hyundai elantra. cheaper, cheaper to insure, and just as good IMO. I dont know anywhere in CA to steal on though.
[Becks] Saturday, January 04, 2014 6:15:09 PM
In amongst the seemingly constant child wrangling, sure why not lol.
You want coffee, right? One cup o' Joe, coming right up. Good thing Mom decided to give me the Keurig coffee machine.
HB, I think I'll just do what my father allegedly did to make ends meet: steal cars and have a friend dismantle 'em to sell the parts. Mainly the first part.
Becks, if I don't log back in ever again due to my possible future crimes, will you take over serving duties?

You "steal" cars for a living?!? That's kewl!
Wanna help me steal a brand-new Honda Civic? For real steal? Heheh. [Show/Hide Quoted Message](Quoting Message by Head banger from Friday, January 03, 2014 5:46:07 PM)

Vail I have never had such a rush as the cars I have stolen, and they are all for work. (testing security at our locations)
Now I think that stealing cars for real would be even more of a rush, selling them for parts might be hard. cloning vins might be an option though.

I'll have a coffee if anyone is serving here in the cafe?

Happy New Year, gang!!
Back from Brazil where I left an airport with a temp of about 120F to Houston to 3F in Chicago!! UUF! Delays left and right.
Glad to be back at home with the pets and watching the Maple Leafs (DAMN, scored as I type) vs. Red Wings playing at the Big House (stadium of the Univ of Michigan). Damn, whatta game!
Speaking of hockey, what is this I hear about Cleary taking a puck to the teeth and losing some 10 the other day?!? Yeah, they aren't really into hockey in Rio. Pix to come. I took one just for you, HB. Little skimpy bikini that I'll post when I get over delayed flight nightmares and jet-lag. Funny as I am now back in winter weather with a sunburn!

it was morning for you there. and look it is again. then again I feel like cracking a coke to start 2014. my milk is off.
Anyway, if the boot is torn you can replace the boot, the whole axle may not need replacing. Which Acura? if you did the trans, engine is decent? tires and brakes ok? you might get a couple of years out of it. if anything big comes up I would shoot it and move on though.
Happy new year. Go on the price is right. some woman just won an audi worth 150K
Bonnetman is right, HB. Besides, it's night here. A cold glass of Rocka Rolla would be most appropriate.
'94 Acura, axle boot is falling apart, over 190,000 miles, no budget. Just alot of hope. May the new year bring you all good times.
*raises her glass*

now, what kind of car, what is wrong with the axle, and how many miles on it? if you sell it then what is your replacement budget?
I just booked my daughters car in for repairs. oh what fun that is. new battery in a cobalt, $250 (stupid trunk mounted battery). now a new serpentine belt, most cars I could replace in 30 min, this one I started reading directions and gave up, but for a mechanic its over 1 hour. on the bright side I won a raffle at work for custom install of heated seats, which is what my daughter misses most now about the long dead elantra.

My car already got a few parts replaced: brakes, transmission, the front left axle. At this point I'm wondering if I should sell it. I love my car to bits, just not the way it drains my wallet.
Got any plans to ring in the New Year?

She opens the door and is taken aback by the mess laid out before her. The mayhem of yesterday: the upturned tables and chairs, the broken dishes, pieces of food scattered everywhere. It looked as though a storm hit the place.
"DAAAAAAAAMN!!!", she exclaimed, "What the heck happened here!? Where's Shadow? Where's everyone, for that matter?"
There was a thick layer of dust on everything, so it had been like this for a while, apparently. After hesitating for a bit, she goes to the cooler, hoping that there was a Rocka Rolla bottle waiting for her inside. She was about to grab the handle when she notices how dust-free it was. Someone was just here. But who?
Her need for sugar outweighed the need to solve the mystery of the recent visitor and opened the cooler. Thankfully, there were still a couple of bottles of Rocka Rolla left. She grabbed one, found a stool at the bar that wasn't flipped upside down, sat down and began to drink.
As she drank, she swiveled around on the stool and took in the view of the cafe. With the Sad Wings album playing in the jukebox, she started to remember the good times had here. The food, the coversations. The place certainly had a friendly atmosphere back then. She could lament the loss of the Cafe of yesteryear, but she won't. There's been too much of that already and not enough action being taken.
After finishing her drink, Vail pondered whether to return to her home or to stick around. After doing some thinking, she decided upon the latter. Who knows? Maybe some of the patrons will arrive after the holidays.

Fireworks and music everywhere here as soon as 2014 arrived. I brought the new year in watching the countdown on TV. Nothing too fancy. Gotta change that, though. Here's some Screaming for Vengeance to wake up the new year.

One Rocka Rolla for the Becksters, coming up!
Didn't get any appliances, but I did get some gift cards, and I bought myself a new pair of boots. I'm gonna buy my car a new axle soon. That'll be its Christmas present this year. Last year it got a much-needed oil change.
*wave* I'll have a rocka rolla! lol.
All immediate family bar Craigs dad visited at some point, it was nice but busy! I got a voucher for a store here that sells appliances etc so got myself a new rice cooker, handy cos on Christmas eve my old one died lol. How about you?

Vail drove throughout the city in order to avoid her annoying family. She seems to have lost them, for now. She turns the corner on a dark street, knowing that it holds one of her all-time favorite places to hang out. She breathes a sigh of relief to see The Priest Cafe with its lights on.
But who?

...Budred knew that he promised not to return here but since his mind changed about as often as the release date for the new Priest cd he figured why not. The first thing he noticed when he opened the door was the silence. He walked in and there was nothing. No music, no people, nothing but the lights. Kind of eerie actually. He walked to the bar and had a seat. No one around to order a drink so he just pondered the situation for a few moments. Maybe the riff raff keeping them away??? He got up and walked around the bar and turned on the sound system, scrolled too fast on the music selections and ended up on Mushroomhead, scrolled back to Priest and selected "One For The Road" from "Rocka Rolla" and grabbed a bud from the cooler and then returned to his seat. He thought about how this place had the potential to be so cool but for some reason it just wasn't happening. He downed his beer and walked to the door. He was going to hit the lights on the way out but decided against it. He thought "maybe" he wouldn't be the last...
