Yeah the music in the song itself isn't too bad, could do with a slight tidy up, but yeah, the singer is crap! LOL! It's a shame that kids these days seem to think this is what metal is all about - ah well they will find out one day LOL! That's really a shame, too. Sounds like that song has great potential...if only the singer could just actually sing the lyrics and not growl them.

Awww that sucks! I'm always up for giving people Priest tunes to check out, especially those who seem to think heavy metal is this sort of shit:
I can't stand bands where all the singer does is scream and growl, it just goes to show they can't actually sing. Plus proper, original metal, is just so much better! LOL!

Ok, sorry to say that the party must end. Did a five mile run with hills today and, while all hot and sweaty, decided to run my computer over to the office where I got to doing a bit of prep work for tomorrow. That was hours ago and I think I must smell as Calvin won't come near me.

Orrrrr...you can make the clay sculpture, let it dry, then hot-glue the beads onto it, and work your way around the sculpture section by section!! [Show/Hide Quoted Message](Quoting Message by spapad from Tuesday, September 01, 2009 10:03:32 PM)

Bet it's harder than what is looks. those are very tiny beads! Got to keep them in place and remove the excess clay without getting the sculpture too wet.

Actually, I don't think they're that hard to make. I bought one for my older nephew (a cool gecko one) when my mom and I went to Puerto Vallarta two years ago. Looks like all you need to do is design the pattern, set tiny beads onto a clay sculpture, and voila! Instant seller!!

Too bad they are too big to bring back in their natural state! Best mixed drink I ever had!
HAAAA!!!! When I run along the beach in the summers in Brazil, the coconut venders line the whole route. No rum but I always stop at the same guy on the way back. I am a faithful client! While it is really fatty, sometimes, I'll even be so daring as to have him slice it open to eat the meat. Counter-productive to the run, but oh well...
Now both those are more along the lines of what I am thinking in terms of cheap sellable goods. Bikini tops and ornate turtles. Yeah, I see my future being formed as I type. Forget this mundane existence in which I live!
spapad wrote:
Why dont you just make Coconut Bikini Tops, from the core's, and well as what you will use for the bottoms, I have no idea!
I Love big fresh Coconuts, cleaved with a Matchete and filled with Rum and the coconut juice! Big damn drink to carry around but God it tastes fantastic!

Tiny packets of chicle (gum) that's commonly sold in Mexico (and here too if you know where to look). Where most tourists go, you'll find someone selling those little packets.

Oh, WAY cool vid! I'd not seen it before...had to watch the whole thing. Thanks, Spa. Feeling happier already. Hi Becks! Welcome to the party!
Chicklets, eh? You know, I think that market is already taken up by all the street kids. At least in every latin / luso american country where I've ever been. Don't want to get beat up over this, you know. Like trying to sell my ripped movies on some street corner. Nope, market saturation.
I wonder how you get the job as "shark watcher" as I saw on Shark Week? I'd be able to blow a whistle if I spotted a shark....

I suspect my front wheel drive Honda make just perform admirably in the snow as long as theres not 4 feet or more of it, like the blizzard of 92 was. I dug my toyota out of that mess and still couldn't get it to go, because of all the snow packed under it! Had to have it wenched from the driveway! LOL

The way it's cooling down this year and raining all the time, I think as winter approches I better get busy looking for a large snow plow. We havent had a bad winter in years now, so we are due for a nasty one. The weather has been perfect for it!
I hate digging my car out of snow, or worse having to clear the entire driveway of snow to the road. That really sucks.

We have pretty much gone to that way of hiring at the hospital in our lab - hire people per diem and see how they are. He said he is going to keep all my details and add me to the pool of casual employees.
Still, I feel really really awful.

You assume I have a phone in my shower, don't you?
Why, if I could make it to the phone, I could move to another room, right? See? I've got it all planned out... [Show/Hide Quoted Message](Quoting Message by spapad from Monday, August 31, 2009 7:57:31 PM)

Keep your chin up, I KNOW it will happen for you soon - I can FEEL it!

Morning everyone. A shit start to the day here - I got turned down from another job. It was the boss who rang me this time, not the HR guy. He said he is going to keep all my details and add me to the pool of casual employees.
Still, I feel really really awful.

I hate digging my car out of snow, or worse having to clear the entire driveway of snow to the road. That really sucks.

Morning everyone. A shit start to the day here - I got turned down from another job. It was the boss who rang me this time, not the HR guy. He said I interviewed really well etc etc but unfortunately came up against someone who already worked for them (part time or casual I think). He said he is going to keep all my details and add me to the pool of casual employees.
Still, I feel really really awful.

Sorry to hear about the job hunt Becks and Momo. It's hard to stay upbeat when you try to find a job and there are so few to be had.
Hopefully things wil turn around soon and more jobs will be available. [Show/Hide Quoted Message](Quoting Message by Becks from Monday, August 31, 2009 5:16:26 PM)

Sounds like you have the same qualifications the biblical Noah had!
[Show/Hide Quoted Message](Quoting Message by Head banger from Sunday, August 30, 2009 10:00:05 PM)

Morning all Metalheads! Another week begins and the month of August is almost over, and it was a decent month for the most part too.
7 inches above normal rainfall! Wow that's a lot of rain!!! We get bleeding hearts here moaning about not enough rain too, they're dairy farmers though, they always find something to moan abotu LOL!
spapad wrote:
I am not looking forward to it! I hope this fall it will dry out a bit as we ARE 7 inches above normal rainfall for the area! But then all the bleeding hearts will be screaming we need more water to keep the fire hazzards down! I hope winter doesn't suck to bad as I really dont want to go back to digging my car out of the driveway like it used to be. But chances are, it's time for one of those winters.

Nothing to disagree about Guido...as you grew up there I would expect you to know more of what the deal is for how much longer it's been happening. I'm an outsider looking in and that's just what I've seen since the late '80's. The road to recovery is a long one, but it's definitley doable!!
Sorry to disagree but having grown up there since '68, I say that it almost HAS gone south overnight. Look at the history of I94 and the effects of the race riots. 94 had virtually no exits to the previously thriving neighborhoods after the race that had the Civil Guard protecting the suburbs. Especially the rich ones like Grosse Pointe and Bloomfield Hills. They set up sandbags with submachine guns on top to "keep the peace" in the suburbs. All very well documented.
As for mayors, to me, that is Coleman Young. He had a stranglehold on the city that was second to none. Kwame was a second joke that lasted only a few years. Coleman and his cronies lasted some 20 years!!!
Ok, enough of this blah. Let's get back to Priest. Especially how Detroit LOVES them!

Really?? Identical twins and a bagel joint is the best you can do?? [Show/Hide Quoted Message](Quoting Message by Becks from Saturday, August 29, 2009 9:03:12 PM)

Actually, we did try to trick her workmates a few years ago. She was working at a bagel place while at uni, and me and Craig were visiting her. We came to the street where she worked and she said her workmates didn't know we were twins, so I wandered in to the store and was staring at the menu above the counter. The girl behind the counter was looking at me like WTF, you work here! LOL that was kinda funny.

LOL yep, there is a stereo me in the world Spa. Except she lives in London where as I am here LOL!
Nah we never really tried to trick anyone, Ron. We probably could have, but didn't LOL!

The tricks you two could play on Craig if you wanted to
So, any cool things you two have done in the past you'd like to share??? Please...do tell...

That's harsh of that so called 'friend' to turf them out when they didn't get jobs straight away - it's hard at the moment to find any work! Thank goodness for CASE by the sounds of it! I love hearing happy endings
Yes Ron, I have a twin, LOL!

That breaks hearts. And you really can do nothing to help them most times. I would like to say that a company called CASE West Virginia just got a family off the streets.
They moved to this area to stay temporaliy with a couple of "friends" and the friends turned them out quickly as they didn't get jobs off the bat. Had CASE not helped them they would have been homeless. But due to Zella stepping in and helping them they will have an apartment at the beginng of next week and My facility hired Moma and the Dad already has a job. Thank god for Guardian Angels sometimes.

We saw so many beggars in Paris, it was really sad. The one I remember most was an older man sitting on the pavement, holding a sign that just said 'J'ai faim' (I'm hungry).
spapad wrote:
Even in Nashville you have the "homeless" the pan handlerers. It was strange, as I have not seen that since I lived in Richmond 25 years ago.
It's sad, but do these people try to do anything to improve their condition? I should shut up as that could be me with just a couple missed paychecks.

When I spent a week up there last September, I'd walk from the hotel to the arena/convention center on the main drag and all along the way were the homeless, sleeping in the parkway and in the crevices of the old church there...truly disheartening. I'm not sure what happened to Detroit, but it was once a mighty city with a lot to offer. I can't believe it all is a result of the auto industry as there's so much more there than just that...it's a truly sad situation that's been getting worse (if possible) rather than better...

One word: work.
Seen Detroit's unemployment rate recently?
ron h wrote:
Well, you really remind me of a high school buddy of mine I call "Poncho" (real name David Ponce) and you kind'a look like him too. He's a metalhead who likes to travel as well, but he lives here next to Chicago as I do...but still he goes. I don't think I ever heard the story of why you left Detroit, but as I've been there quite often over the years I can imagine why (though I could be wrong), but why Tennessee?? It doesn't seem to fit your personality at all...
guidogodoy wrote:
Better question...ever wonder about my tagline and why I travel so much?
ron h wrote:
Is that why you live there, to show them the way?? Just teasing, but...a little parental guidance never hurt anyone
guidogodoy wrote:
Yeah, "dry county" I learned only means that they just sell beer. Have to drive 10 minutes away for wine or liquor. Ooooooooooo.....
Frankly, I have never seen so many young unwed mothers with no father-figure in my LIFE before moving here.
spapad wrote:
You might want to bring it with you just in case you end up in a dry county! LOL Guids would be better on that info than me! LOL
ron h wrote:
They don't sell Bacardi in Tennessee?? Well, as long as they have Guiness or at least a Budweiser
spapad wrote:
Dont let the skeeters get you! LOL And I assume you are talkin about a beverage incased in aluminum! LOL
