I can understand you. If you spend your time raising animals to eat them, you can't get attached to them. As for the despising, well, that too is understandable. They ment "work" to you. But, as I always say : life is about changes ! And yes, animal do have this tendency of teaching us all kind of different things. About them AND about ourselves. Man did my huskies teach me a lot ! I still miss them after all these years. But now I take care of some of my friends pets every once in a while....all the fun - no worry lol

For much of my life, I did not really care that much about them. I grew up with a lot of animals, including pigs and cows which we ate. I had horses, dogs, cats and all of that. I guess I just got sick of taking care of them. Through most of my early adult life, I despised animals, although my wife and daughter had pets. I finally learned to love an animal about five years ago. The Princess had a cat to which she was quite attached. "Kitty" was a wonderful animal. She died suddenly in the summer of last year (07) and it was a very painful loss. I learned something from that cat. I learned to love animals.

yeah, thanks, I had a huge blank. It happens sometimes.

As you said, each animal has it's own personality and to be honestly, I have a hard time using the "it" instead of "he" or "she". To me "it" is a thing and animals are not things

I believe that you refer to cigarette "butts". In any case, that is so funny!

who knows, maybe in a past life that cat was a musicien I love animals that are different from others. Like an ex-relative's dog : he used to bark at open beer cans lol The poor thing went nuts each time. And he "killed" every cigarettes (finished ones....can't remember how it's called in English, sorry) laying on the durt. Hilarious !

HA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That's great!!!! They do seem to have their own personalities, don't they? I have never seen an animal react so strongly to music, though. It is very odd.

lollll I believe you my dear ! Animals have strange ways sometimes .... I use to have 4 huskies and one of them used to clime up the folliage fence to try to get out. And you should have seen all of them run after a poor field mouse...

It is SO funny that you mention that!! Both of them are fascinated by water!! Truly! The older one has always loved it when the Princess takes a bath. She gets up on the edge of the tub and plays in the water!!!!!! HA!!!!!!!!!!! Now the younger one (the music critic) is doing it. We found her IN the tub after  the Princess was done with her bath a few days ago!! She was soaking wet, just laying there in the tub!!! HAHAHAHAHAH!!!!
