Looking forward to how Glenns guitar turns out- is it just the angle but it seems strangely short lengthways. still I compare all guitars to my Ibanez automatically now... and NONE COMPARE!!  truly I love my guitar- speaking of which I have to go play for mass down at church now- with my acoustic though. The ibanez does come along occasionally but playing through the somewhat dodgy PA can be a pain (and any tpe of distortion completely forbidden lol)... I'll stop babbling now... |

ha, thats very nice to hear. ill have to talk to him about that. love recording equipment. i wouldnt say mine is amazing i put like 4000 bucks into it and that includes the Apple laptop i got. you guys are gonna sound great now. hopefully MM is doing some good practice with that stuff, takes a while to learn to get everything up the way you want it, and there are little tricks to some of it. im sure there is nothing to worry about though.

MM went out and bought all new equipment! We have a top of the line, DIGITAL system. We have some original music which we plan to record and about 15 Priest tunes. There is a list on the Project Thread. We are doing some tougher material this time. Trying to make a better product, you know? I wish you could make it, man. You are as much a part of the 'Defenders as any one of us.

There is a Phantom on eBay right now. Just not the GT. Besides looking for the guitar, I am also looking for the Hamer catalog that advertised them. I have this ad (that someone is selling on eBay for $9.99!?) and, although you can't see it, there is a little note at the bottom to send a couple of bucks to get the catalog. Wonder if that offer is still good?

The KxK site is brief,but they have those other models to look at for now. Gonna have to watch this one for price!! maybe it`s time for a Christmas present for myself!!
I`m still uncertain about the speed loaders as there are many parameters that have to be just right for them to just pop into near perfect tune.
Perhaps KK will loan me his guitar tech if I purchase one!!!!! |

Hope they make the necessary adjustments to it KK did. Notice KK moved the controls to the front of the guitar, instead of the back where they were originally put.

Need some help!!
A friend from work has come across an old Kramer of unknown year model. It has two humbuckers that are the EMG Selects,the neck pickup is slanted,not the bridge. It has the standard fulcrum tremelo and the neck is amazingly fast. The neck plate says "Made in USA",not the typical "Made in Neptune NJ",it has a nice weight to it,so I don`t think it`s one of the plywood bodies, which are usually very heavy. It does not have any series markings(Focus,Stryker,etc)
The guitar is ,as far as we know in totally stock condition. Anybody got any clues?? I know about the "Vintage Kramer" site,but I don`t have the serial number handy. Oh yea!! The body is painted in a "Colonial White" but the headstock is black with the logo in block lettering in gold.
Any clues?? |

I am certain that most of us here do not earn a living at it, and it is more or less reduced to hobby status. I personally have been stashing for the holidays already, as being in the steel industry it is just a matter of time until business catches up with the automakers. It is an 8 year cycle with two of those years being painfully slow.... |

Damn! Never heard of the smoke before!! I knew of the expansion rate from taking my guitars on airlines before,but mostly for the neck,not the body. Try a camera shop,they will have the lithium batteries in the 9 volt. that will give the closet thing to having the AC adaptor.

The MG series is solid state,popular line,a little noisy(hiss) when cranked,but they are a good amp for the practicing musician. I`d take one!!

That is good if it's tube. I got lucky. When I was in the market, I found a music store clerk who needed the cash and let his mid '70s 50 watt half stack go for $350. He locked the store up and we went to his house. Cash and carry of course, but that amp kicked ass. I used to run it in stereo with my Carvin 100 watt through my Boss ME-5. Tough set up, but it was worth it. I was the only guitartist, but it sounded like there was two of us because the sounds were so different.

You`re probably checking out a solid state model,they can be had fairly cheap. A true tube amp will set you back a couple of mortgages!!
Look at Krank,they have two mini combo`s that can be had in half stack configurations,their newest one has an expanded EQ section,but they are still not cheap!!

I have had the older Boss OD-1 and the DS-1 in the past and loved them. And thanks to a very generous fellow board member here,I have the DS-1 again. Been a Boss guy for a long time,not that I think they are superior,but they are readily available and consistently good. I use my DS-1 thru my son`s Fender G-Dec Jr. amp ,and combined with the internal overdrive in the 80`s British mode,it`s a great tone for all era`s of metal. i use a small peavey combo amp and i use a Boss Super Overdrive SD-1 in series with a Boss Distortion DS-1 on the clean channel and it sounds pretty good its probably the best tone i can get at the moment. My amp doesn't have a built-in overdrive or distortion.

I used Carvin exclusively back in '87-'88. They were an awsome company with great equipment and an even greater amount of integrity and commitment to quality. I loved their speaker cabinets. At the time, they were the only affordable option for fully enclosed cabs with big speakers ( 4x12 ). The bass knock out of those were incredible.

Didn`t you post a pic of your stuff once,I seem to recall seeing one and you mentioned how great the V3 is far Vintage Priest!
I love Carvin`s stuff,had a little bad luck with an order from them a while back,but wasn`t their fault,more of a UPS thing.
I know the vintage 30`s are a good speaker,I had the Carvin British series in my Marshall cabs,put them in in the late 90`s. My favorite Celestion is a discontinued model... the Cloth Edge Sidewinders, used another guys cabs once and he had these in there ...my god I have never heard a speaker breathe like that,man it was thick with a truly amazing top end.
The Legacy has a very glassy clean tone,good for old Van Halen stuff.

That Roland is an awesome amp,it is the benchmark to which all clean sounds are judged!! many artist use these for their clean tones,and when driven,sound nice and chunky!!

I had a small Crate a long time ago and it was very good for such a small amp. There big one`s however,are another story.

I first noticed them on some BC Rich Warlocks at Guitar Center a few months back. I looked at it,but had no desire to play it. Just looked to damn weird!! I ask a salesmen about it,and that~s where I got the info I posted on it. maybe,there is something to these things,dunno,but I don`t think I`ll be trying one anytime soon,unless KK offers me a chance when they come to Dallas!! Yea,as if!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

| That is the Floyd Rose Speedloader bridge. The strings are extremely close to in tune on installation, and reportedly string life isn't much of a problem. The system was introduced about a year ago, and has yet to meet wide public acceptance. Some manufacturers produced a few guitars with that system, but most consumers shied away from them due to the fact they did not have tuners installed, and "looked really funny." |

You mean the new white one, he had alot of it retooled by his guitar tech because He did not the way it was. Beautiful guitar, but Vol control on back? Just Stupid design. He fixed it. As for the rest, your too tech for me, talk about engines and I know what you speak of, guitars, not so much. But I sure he had in redesigned to fit his preferences.

Sykes did all the writing and studio work, then Coverdale fired everyone from the band and hired the guys in the video. I can't remember the names of the bassist or drummer from the recording sessions, though.
